View 3 RepliesI saw a pic which was converted to Black n white except this one object in it.
For example: If you have a bunch on red roses.. only one amoung them is in color, everything else is black n white. Gives picture a unique look!
How can this be done in PS? I've just started using PS so please excuse if this is a stupid question.
how to do this chore. Worse, I know it must be so simple that its laughable. I haven't ever needed to do it though.
I have an image that is great [in my eyes] but in the middle of the image an area of tree foliage shows that is so tightly focused, it distracts. How do I selectively soften, fuzz, blur [likely] or what ever only that portion. I have fought this since Sept and haven't found an answer that feels right.
Does CS5 have this option and if so, how do you use it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to apply a selective blur to a photograph. What I am doing is using the Polygonal Lasso and select around my item. Then I try to use the Ctl +I to invert, but when I do that, the image inside the lasso tool looks polorized. What I am trying to get. it using the Gaussian Blur to blur everything in the background and not the item that I have applied the lasso tool to, everything in the lasso should be clear and everything outside (the background) should be blured.
I am getting this tio from a book called "Retouching cookbook for digital photographers" and it is a simple tip, but it is not turning out.
I'm in class and the teacher just showed us Selective Color. I usually use Hue Saturation to enhance colors or color correction. Is there a diffence between the two tools?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm running photoshop CS3 in a macbook pro under windows xp, and I want to add color to something in my picture. I used "selective color" (Layer > adjustments > selective color) to add color to a whitish-looking robe that is worn by a character that I created in photoshop earlier, but even when I move the slider to +100 % the color is still too washed out (will add images later). I know from experience using Photoshop CS 3 in my old laptop (a HP Compaq Presario X6000 running windows XP)Â that to get the depth of color I want in my character's robe, I shouldn't have to move the slider all the way to +100 %. Is there any way to fix this so I can get the same color depth I got when I used my old laptop? P.S. When I choose "selective color" a dialogue box comes up. I left the settings in this dialogue box as they are seen in the image, and clicked "ok".
View 2 Replies View Relatedis there a way to select which fonts show up in photoshop (without deleting them)? I want to keep as few as possible so I can find the ones I like quickly.
Now another thing I dont get is all the different font types. Type 1, 2, 3 TrueType, OpenType....
What's the difference between all of these, which should I be using, and how can I tell what my font types are?
When I try to run in selective startup mode with all my non-Windows startup item turned off, Photoshop (CS2) tells me I need to have administrator status, but I do. ? Can I run in selective startup mode or not? andIf so, there must be an Item that I need to turn on.....

How to I create a monochrome bmp in photoshop ? I have a logo I use for my business that has a white back ground, blue image and red letters. I have a screen saver that is asking for a black and white monochrome bmp.
I am using photoshop cs and only have a photoshop 5 book which isnt telling a whole lot other than checking monochrome under the channel mixer, but it still isnt working correctly so obviously I am doing something wrong.
I tried to find good information about selective color tool about absolute vs relative

My camera software dumps jpegs and raw files into a single folder.Â
Â
I am wanting to batch (automate) process the jpegs in said folder, but not the camera's raw files. How do I employ an action that will only run on the jpegs in the folder and skip the raw files?
I work on an image and use Selective Color to make adjustments, then, out of nowhere, the panel no longer operates.
I can no longer select the colors from the drop down menu for adjustments because the menu is grayed out...here is a photo to demonstrate...
In a file with several layers, my monitor temporarily blacks out when adjusting colors in a Selective Color adjustment layer. Is there a solution?I changed the Advanced Graphics Processor Settings to "Normal" from "Advanced." Seems better but am I losing performance?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have to convert a CMYK image into a monochrome bitmap and I can't figure out how to do this in Photoshop.
In the menu under image - mode , there is only greyscale option, or if I choose bitmap, there is also no monochrome option.
CS6 is consistenly locking up in the selective color and curves dialog. i.e. I come to the selective color dialog and try to choose the reds and it is stuck on whites, which I used last and I can't change it. I have to quit and relaunch. The same thing is happening with the Curves dialog. I can edit the RGB curve , but can't select the R, G or B channels until I relaunch. It works for a while and then it just stops.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWe are giving Corel VideoStudio Pro X6 a trial. We recently attended a concert a client of ours performed. We video recorded this performance using an iphone 4s cell phone and then downloaded to a Toshiba laptop which operates using Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit . We video recorded one song that we wish to upload to YouTube. Our question is: how can we delete sections of the video portion of the recorded file without deleting the audio portion, and then add wanted video clips which have no audio ? Our goal is to replace sections of the video portion of the file with wanted "silent" video clips from other files without changing the original audio track and original timeline in any way. Can this be done using Corel VideoStudio Pro X6? We are hoping that Corel VideoStudio Pro X6 is the video editing software for us.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got Lightroom 4 last night. When I was in college, I used Illustrator and, we learned how to do selective coloring. I have no clue what I'm doing in lightroom 4 to do this. The set up is way more intricate than I anticipated. I've searched for videos online and, they are all for older versions of Lightroom and do not work. how to use selective coloring in Lightroom 4??
View 7 Replies View RelatedOn PS CS6 Extended 64 & 32 bit I noticed the gray scale ends of the curve in monochrome images is, to my mind, flipped. I understand some of the historic reasons for this, but I though I had found a preference somewhere or flipped the ends in previous versions. It has been a while. My most current version previously was CS2.

I'm also looking for, and will post separately, something akin to the Photo bars add on from Extensis. I still can't believe how backward the Adobe development team appear to be in terms of interface usability design. There are many multi-click patterns I use repeatedly and something like Photobars, even an add-on would be acceptable.
I've used Paint Shop for years but can't seem to find an easy way to do selective coloring. My raw converter allows me to use a color picker to select the color I want, then I inverse the selection and reduce saturation to leave the selected color still showing.
Modifying selective color range in Paint Shop is not as effective. Does Paint Shop have something similar? I have X3, but still mostly use X2.
My predicament: Sharp eagle in a noisy clear blue sky. Is it possible to free select around the eagle and apply the selective gaussian blur to just the sky in one step? As it stands I am only able to blur just the sky if I select it in two less than precise sections.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIf I pattern a feature in two direction, say 1 copy in both directions, I get 4 features. Is there a way to "turn off" one or more of them. If I patterned a whole field of features, can I turn off some of them? Again, there was a way to do this easily in Pro-E, but I have not found it in Inventor.
