How do I retroactively change my pix in CS5 to included maximum compatibility. I have checked the box, but it only applies to new saves. I can't import thumbs in LR5.
View 9 RepliesPhotoshop CS5: can I retroactively determine adjustment parameters? E.g, the values used when I adjusted brightness/contrast? I'm running Adobe CS5 on an iMac 24" (OSX 10.6.8).
Ive been working on picture in Photoshop. The first step was an adjustment of brightness/contrast. I can see the several steps I've made in Photoshop's 'history' window, but, although I can do or undo the various levels, I can't determine the values I used at each stage, as there appears to be no info on those values in the history window.
I've been making notes of the subsequent transformations/adjustments, but I didn't remember to do that on the first step. Can I retrieve this info somehow, via history, or some other way?
The default for the save as pdf is Acrobat 6. Problem just started of my artboards not translating correctly in the PDF. Preview of the document is also very strange. Saved PDF will open correctly in Ai, but not in anything else including Acrobat and Apple Preview. Changing the compatibility to 8 fixes problem.
I get that I can make a custom preset, action or script, but I really would like to just keep it simple if possible.
Just installed Photoshop CC and Bridge CC has not been installed. If I want Bridge, do I have to pay for it as an additional app?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I save a photo using the Photoshop CS3 'save for the web' command, I resize the photo to, for example, 800 pixels on the long side. It comes back the correct size but sometimes the colors look different (a little red usually). Is this because I was editing the original photo in RGB? Should I convert to profile, sRGB before I save for the Web? Or does Photoshop do this automatically? OR, should I convert to sRGB and then do color adjustments for the web?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI uninstalled Photoshop CS5.1 ME (Middle Eastern) version from my 64bit operating system (Windows 7 Home Premium) and went on to install CS6 EXTENDED after a fresh restart (I also deleted remaining CS5 folders in "Program Files' Adobe directory"). The setup went fine. But, when it finished, it gave an error message saying that Adobe Photoshop CS6 didn't install or didn't install correctly. From there, I copied the error report/log it gave out:

Photoshop started fine and worked fine (only used it a bit) after the "failed" installation but, the Update option in the Help window was grayed out (trial version, just to let you know). Is that a limitation to the trial version? Or is it straight up an error?
My question is, what did the error report mean and what could be wrong with my currently installed version of PS? BTW, I didn't use Mini Bridge yet, although all of its files are present in the Program Files directory for Adobe.
I am starting a Digital Media class in college and CS5 is what is setup on computers and textbooks are also about CS5 as well. They haven't upgraded to CS6 yet. I am mainly doing Photoshop, Flash Professional, and Illustrator in this class. The first program we are using is Photoshop. I have just paid for and downloaded the Creative Cloud and everything pertains to CS6.
I stick with using Photoshop CS5? Or can Photoshop CS6 be used as long as I don't use the newer parts of the program?Also will there be compatible issues in say for instance I am doing a project and going back and forth from my computer at home (with CS6) to working on it at school (with CS5)?
compatibility from CS2 to 7 and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. I have a file with many layers made in CS2 but when I open it in 7, they're all merged - all I see is the background layer. Now before you ask, I know about the file handling settings and I made sure I have enabled "maximize psd and psb file compatibility" and version cue workgroup.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn Illustrator I'm using "save for web" to generate a png copy of an Illustrator file. The Illustrator file has copyright metadata, but when I check the png copy the copyright metadata is missing.
Why doesn't the png copy have the same metadata as the original file? Shouldn't the metadata be passed along when using "save for web"?
I applied the metadata in Bridge using the append metadata command.
I have attached a couple of comic book bubble shapes that have "tails" on them (the little pointy part that you put near the persons mouth who is speaking the dialogue). I'd like to remove these tails and close off the shape so that it's symmetric (as if the tail never existed).

Originally it saved them at quality level 10 but I re-recorded the action to set the quality at 12. However, since this change the action keeps saving as into the folder where the image I used for the re-recording was located.

CS6 vector strokes. Any file I send with the new vector strokes can not be opened by CS5.x usersIt seems if I flatten all shape layers and smart objects, however our PSDS have hundreds of layers and even with the new search feature this is tedious. Plus you get into having two versions of a final file floating around which is a liability.

I have Photoshop CS5 32 bit installed on my PC with Vista home premium. I am buying a new PC with 64 bit Windows 7 installed, and it also has the option to upgrade for free to Windows 8 pro. Will my CS5 work on windows 7 and if I take the free upgrade will it work on Windows 8 pro?
Does it matter that CS5 is 32 bit and the new PC will be 64 bit? I don't want to get the free upgrade if it means my CS5 won't work on it, as I am happy wioth CS5 and do not need to upgrade to CS6 yet.
I've previously used CS4 and CS5 to make layered psd templates. They have always been compatible with elements and all versions of Photoshop. Now I've used PS CC and it is either just not opening or freezing up other versions of Photoshop.

Now I've installed Topaz Adjust plug-in and I'm having a problem. Randomly, when I launch Photoshop and look in Filters I will find EITHER my old plug-in's or the new Topaz plug-in. But never all three at the same time. And it is always random as to which will load at launch.

I have worked at home (Windows XP) on my Elements (it does the job well). Now, what I was wondering is if there was any way of being able to open my Elements file with the CS2 version? Or have I wasted my time?
I have no idea ......... It is important that the tutor is able to view the original file, so that they can see the layers etc.
I have tried sending the file via email, but there is no chance of attatching this file. But if I am certain that the file will open in college, then I could burn the file to disc?

One of my other Intrests is video editing and I use Nero burning software for burning my DVD's. I have been expierencing a problem latley, when Nero finishes encoding the data and is ready to burn to DVD, it says that It can not burn to DVD, I have only started expierencing this since I have installed CS Premium. So I was wondering if anybody might know if there is some kind of compadibility issues between Nero and the other programs in CS.

I´m having a problem... Photoshop is very slow... very very slow when comparated to my old pc that was a XP 32 bits and 2 giga of ram.
Could it be a problem because I´m using a 64 bits OS or using Quadcore ? Is photoshop CS3extended preparated for XP 64 bits OS and Quadcore?
