Nov 25, 2004I have a document with some quite large areas of colour. This looks nice, but as it needs to be faxed, I'd like to just replace the colour with an outline of the shapes. I know this is probably a really simple question, but how can I just get a line to represent the edge of the shape?

Dec 23, 2012When creating text, can not seem to get any color but black. Grab text with text tool, chose a new foreground color, foreground color will change, text color in options bar will change, but text stays black.
If trying to gradiate the text. Again, I choose a color, pick the gradient tool, set the type of gradient, all looks good, new color with white background, but still it comes out as new color and black. Have try making the foreground white with new background color, but still only get black.

Nov 17, 2012i am currently tryeng to write a title for an image.
I would like to have a outline to each letter, so i searched for a bit to find out i should click outline in the effects bar. this fills the entire image exept the text with white,. i wouldn't be too annoyed if i could change the colour or set the amout of outlining, but it is always white and always fills my image no matter what i do.
Illustrator :: Getting Around Text Outlining For Preserving Appearance
Feb 18, 2014I'm working in an Illustrator file that needs to use artwork that is in PDF form. I've been either placing the PDFs into the Illustrator file or opening the PDFs as Illustrator files. Either way, I'm getting a message that says "The document contains PDF objects that have been reinterpreted: To preserve appearance, some text has been outlined."
As you'll see in the attached, what ends up happening are these strange looking white lines that occur around the artwork (you'll notice them most around the CD in the center.) Is there anyway around bringing the PDFs in without having them reinterpreted? I do not want to make them jpegs and then bring them in.

Jul 19, 2011I have created some text that is 100% transparent, and has a 1mm outline. I move the text on top of an image which I want to fill the center of the text with. This achieves exactly what I wish, so I freeze the transparency and move the text back away from the image, however when I move it the outline disappears, and I cant get it back.

However, color at some point changed to grey.
Color- by layer, transparency- by layer, viewstyle- 2D Wireframe...
The thing is if I double click on a text it turns to black but after regenall it turns to grey again!
Already did restart and everything. Looks like there is maybe some variable for color control, I don't know.

Jun 5, 2013I did put a real photo in the background of my website to fit entire page. So the text of my webpage is black, and sometimes other colors. So what happen is that some times the text is hard to read when it come on top of dark places of the photo (for example hear of people). So i want to adapt the photo to make it more unicolor, more whiten (increase whiteness) so the black text will appear even better.
What tools and filters in gimp that give me this ability to do that ?

Dec 22, 2005I have a color picture which I took, of a red berry bush. I want to remove all the color except for the red from the berries. I know how to lasso the berries, but I can't remove the color from the bush/background and leave the red berries.
Note: I did this once a couple years ago, and can't remember how I did it..I have some memories, but probably remember just enough to make me dangerous. I have done some searches but obviously the results are numeorus and I haven't found what I am looking for yet.
I know the solution involves selecting the berries and then inversing it and then setting all 3 colors to 0 for the background.
What I can do is
1) lasso the berries
2) inverse
what I can't figure out
1) it seems like there was 1 step about layering which enabled me to get started, but I don't remember this, it does seem like I am missing something very basic when I try to do this
3) Where is the color scale, the only thing I can find is the grayscale option which switches the entire project to black and white.

When attempting to add simple text on an individual layer, the layer is turning black. This prevents me from seeing the text I'm editing. When I move to another layer the text displays correctly. When I go to edit the text by clicking the image the layer goes black again. It is like editing text in the dark, turning the light on to see the changes, turning the light off to make the changes, repeat.

I have tried making a larger number 5 on a different layer and placing it under the smaller number but that gives me more of a drop shadow effect which is not what I am looking for.

And I got it outlined about 98% of it. But im unsure on how far i should outline the rims and the rear air damn. D-load the PSD file and take a look. Hide the car layer to view the outline.
