Photoshop :: Layer Option 'multiply' To Remove Color To Transparency

as an alternative to using the magic wand to remove a color to transparency (which leaves fine detail, say in a line drawing, in a very sorry state) i saw someone use the multiply function in layer options to remove all white from a greyscale image leaving black lines over transparency. neat,

Paint.NET :: Using Background Color Rather Than Transparency?

Jul 30, 2011

Specifically when I lasso a section of a screenshot and move it, I would like to leave behind a chosen background color in its place. This was easy in Paintshop but I can't figure out how to do it here. Instead, I seem to have to grab another selection, copy it and put it over the transparent part. Simple enough to do but cludgy. Looked at the manuals and couldn't find a mention.

CorelDRAW X3 :: 2 Color Fill With Transparency Export

Oct 27, 2011

I am unable to solve my problem with exporting an object (curve) with 2-colors fill (with transparency) to WMF, PNG or AI. I spent quite a long time already to figure out how to make transparent fill and when I finally succeeded, I cannot export that and work with it

I would like to transform the curve with transparent fill to just curves somehow... than it should be no problem with exporting. Or transform it to some other vector object - it does not matter - just to be able to use it and export it as vector object.

GIMP :: Reduce Color Depth - Keep Transparency

Jul 14, 2013

I have 60-something 24 bit PNG images that I've edited in Gimp, many of them include transparency. I want to batch convert them to 256 colors while keeping the transparency. Can this be done? I did try it in another editor and any attempt to keep the alpha channel transparency resulted in totally washed out colors and transparency where none should exist. Conversely, if I skipped the transparency the color depth reduction went well.

Paint.NET :: Manipulation - Replace Color With Transparency?

Sep 28, 2011

I have an image with a black background and an image in various shades of grey. I would like to, i guess, "invert it" in such a way that black becomes white, and the various shades of gray become transparent. Basically I want to have the following:

Black -> White with 100% opacity - totally white

Grey with 10% black -> White with 90% opacity - white with a bit of transparency

Grey with 70% black -> White with 30% opacity - white with a lot of transparency

White -> White with 0% opacity - completely transparent

How can I achieve this?

Xara :: Transparency For Web - Background Color Turns Out Black

Aug 31, 2011

This is probably super simple. I do a lot of transparency stuff for the Web. My background color for the most part turns out to be black. I get my transparency but the program I'm using at the moment does a cleaner job with white. When it's black I see a little trash of black around the edge of the graphic. In the past I've come up with white quite by accident and it was clean as a whistle. I'm exporting as PNG, True Color + Alpha.

GIMP :: Using Select Color Tool On Pixels With Transparency

Mar 28, 2012

I was using Paint.net but I've found it too limited. The GIMP has much more power and I can do a lot more with it, but I've found a few things I can't figure out how to do.

For example, when I use the Eyedropper tool () to choose a color, GIMP doesn't seem to include any transparency in the selection:

The Colorpicker just chooses the color at 100% opacity. Is there any way to change this so that my new foreground color includes the transparency level?

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Setting Background Transparency Color For Multiple Images

Sep 11, 2013

I have imported a number of raster images into a drawing and wish to turn the "blank" bits transparent. I can set them all to "Background transparency = YES" in the Properties bar, but as far as I can see I need to go through each one individually to set the relevant transparency color, since as soon as I select more than one tile the "Transparency color" tab disappears.

Is there a way to do a multiple select as the "blank" color is the same for all the tiles? I'm planning to use a lot of tiles and this will be incredibly laborious and inefficient otherwise. I am using Map 3D 2011.

GIMP :: Create Checker Board Pattern Having Green Color / Transparency

Feb 9, 2012

I am deciding to switch over to gimp from pixelmator because of the extra features. However, there is one thing that is making me concerned is some limitations in the filters.

How do I create a checkerboard pattern (using the filter) which has a green color for its primary color and transparency for its secondary color? In pixelmator this is easily done because there are extra color pickers in that filter supports transparency, so no problem. However, this isn't the case in gimp.

Photoshop :: Transparency To Not Transparency In Photo

Sep 10, 2006

I have two pictures.

I would like the two pictures to blend in the middle from left to right.
The picture on the left will be sharpe on the left side but fade/transparent by the time it reaches the middle.
The picture on the right will be sharpe on the right side but fade/transparent in the middle.

I would think I need a gradient transparency (you always have to use a color)

I see pictures like this all the time, but can not seem to find the correct feature or combinations of features.

Photoshop :: Transparency

Jan 19, 2008

In Coreldraw there is a transparency tool which allows you to merge one photo into another - not like layers on top of each other, but overlapping along the edges, so that the outer edges of each pic are unaffected, and the central area is like a mixture of each pic. You could do something similar in Photoshop elements using the Gradient tool, but the gradient tool in CS2 doesn't seem to work the same way.

At the moment, I'm having to join/blend two pics in Coreldraw, save the result as a jpeg, and then open the resultant file in CS2 to continue working.
In Coreldraw the little tool is called 'Transparency'-'Fountain' I can't believe CS2 can't do something similar.

Photoshop :: Transparency?

Aug 12, 2008

How do I make a background transparent? For example I made a document with just my name...Kim. I don't want there to be a rectangular/square or ANY kind of background...just that word, nothing around it, nothing behind it. How do I do that? Before you answer...

I've tried it by putting the document settings at "background>transparent". But when I came across it in my documents folder, it had a background around it. I've thought about selecting the word, and putting it onto a new, "transparent" document, but it doesn't seem to me that would help if it doesn't work when you set the background to transparent on the ORIGINAL and having it not turn out. Don't know what to do??

Photoshop :: Gif Transparency

I want to make a very simple sig, text only, no effects or anything. Basically, I just don't like the available fonts that I can use for an html sig on the board I post on ;p Anyways, I save the file as a .gif with transparency and when I tested it out in an HTML file, it showed up fine, but that was only with a white background. When I changed the background color to anything other than white, the text had white pixels around it. Could anyone give some pointers on how to get rid of those pixels around the text? It wouldn't be a problem if the board background color was white, but it's blue. I also tried saving as a .png, same result.
