Feb 9, 2012I'm learning how to create extension (flex - extension builder) for Illustrator and how to make it communicate with a plugin.
The samples provided in the SDK detailed how to load /unload extension from a menu item from Illustrator, and how to add / remove EventListeners to make the magic happen.
to sum up, this is something like that:
1- click on the menu item
2- load extension
3- add listeners
4- do your stuff......
5- remove listeners
6- unload extension
Basically my plugin is a module/service which is in charge of dealing with / modifying artwork tree. It has no User Interface.
My extension will have a user of this service.
What I would like to do is to load my extension as soon as my plugin is loaded, and unload the extension when the plugin will be unloaded.
Or notify when extension is loaded or unloaded.
Is that possible and hw could I achieve that?

Jun 8, 2007i want to set a color as transparent. the help file says that there is a Map Transparency button in the color palette but i just can't find it. in my color palette, there are only three sliders for R, G and B, another slider for colors, and the two squares showing foreground and background color only. where is the map transparency button?

This was easy in Paintshop but I can't figure out how to do it here. Instead, I seem to have to grab another selection, copy it and put it over the transparent part. Simple enough to do but cludgy. Nov 13, 2012Is there a way to control color print quality that matches the in-canvas look of a part or assembly.
As a quick example, I have a Kelly Green wire visible within an assembly. When I print the assembly within a .idw drawing file, the Kelly Green turns very dark.
Is it possible to specify a particular lighting setting to be used when printing? I'm expecting to see color print output that matches closely to what I see when viewing either a model or an assembly.
I'm using Inventor 2013.

Aug 31, 2011This is probably super simple. I do a lot of transparency stuff for the Web. My background color for the most part turns out to be black. I get my transparency but the program I'm using at the moment does a cleaner job with white. When it's black I see a little trash of black around the edge of the graphic. In the past I've come up with white quite by accident and it was clean as a whistle. I'm exporting as PNG, True Color + Alpha.
