I've been trying to work out how to generate a whole lot of smaller drawings from a bigger drawing, automatically through Scripting and Lisp programming. Each of these smaller drawings would be based on a rough 20 metre buffer of the property boundaries inside it. Each drawing created would preferably be the expression of the House number + Street name, which are in each property boundary parcel as object data. What I have been doing in the past is attaching and querying the required drawing one by one but this takes a while and we are about to get a whole shed load more to be done.

How to make the dimension get bigger and smaller as we “scale” the drawing?
For example, the drawing in the screenshot below is scaled by 0.5 but that didn’t affect the “size” of the dimension (height of the text, extension lines, …).
Is there a way to get the dimension line affected as we scale the drawing such that the “dimension text” and the “extension line” are increased/ decreased with the scale factor?

I just learnt to use Adobe Illustrator , the basics anyway. I am able to manipulate the size of the logo to almost scale in Illustrator. However, when I save the logo in JPEG/PNG for the web its always coming out smaller than i would like it to and i cant seem to get it to the size i want.

I have changed Canvas size a thousand times in my life and this has never happened before.
I have an image that is 1600 px wide and I want to trim the sides to 1260. When I start to even type in the smaller size, the file size indicated is larger (that was my first suspicion that something was not right). And sure enough, it is making the image larger?

I want to create the effect with a photoshop tool that makes one side of a text sentence look smaller than the other, as if you were looking at your tv from a side angle and the part of the sentence closest to you looks a little bit larger than the side of the text furtherst from you.

I am a hardcore Photoshop nut lol but I have recently approached learning how to use 'AI' to create my company Logo so that It can be Vector based and therefore Re-size it according to web and print as needed.
You've properly encountered this problem lots of times and i'm properly being really silly, but I am having major problems re-sizing and it, causing pixelisation on my Image, esp when going to 'Save for web and Devices'.
I did have 'drop down shadow effects' on the Logo but I believe I have deleted all of that in Appearences, Incase it is the raster effects causing the problems... but even back at its seemingly basics, I'm still having the same problems.
I tried making the Image smaller using the 'scale' & 'transform' tool before taking it into 'Save for Web and Devices' and even on my artboard it now looks pixelated..
My Artboard size is 1200 x 1200 and in 'Save for Web and Devices' it says the Original Image size is 800 x 600 (which I believe is the size of the document I chose when starting my project)...
I tried Playing with the PPI in the 'Document Raster Effects' settings, this doesn't seem to be making a difference.. Infact I'm sure playing with all the settings has almost caused my edges already to not be as sharp in view: 100% (RGB/Overprint preview) as they once were and I don't think I have the original document to go back too, due to thinking the Logo was fine, before relizing I had a problem in resizing & saving.
I have tried all of the save options in 'Save for Web and Devices' but still the Image looks pixelized, even when ignoring previewer and going ahead to re-opening the saved Image.
I've spent hours trawling the web tirelessly without any result and after being so happy with the Logo, it would be such a shame to have to delete it and try and start all over again either in Illustrator or back in Photoshop (where I know the quality won't be as good)..

I am working with a photographer who uses lightroom. I am not familiar with lightroom but I use CS6 InDesign and Photoshop for these types of projects (brochures, postcards, fliers) The problem is I'm used to photographers sending me highres jpegs at 300dpi around 2.5 - 4MB that retain great quality, but this particular photographer is sending me files out of Lightroom that are average of 6-11mb. Taking about 6 hours to download. He is exporting the files as jpegs at 300dpi, 8x12. He swears that the photo will lose quality if he makes it smaller o nfile size. make the file sizes smaller in mb while still retaining quality? He also uses photoshop extended.

I am new to Illustrator, and am trained in Photoshop. I'm working with a printer that wants a vector based AI file, so I'm trying my hand at Illustrator. I have an AI, vector based, logo that I'm trying to fit onto a business card template. The logo is primarily text, with a circle surrounding one of the letters. The circle has a stroke that narrows on the right hand side to a tiny sliver. I am selecting all three layers (the top line of text, bottom line of text, and the surrounding circle), holding down the shift key to preserve the proportions, and grabbing the little box in the bottom corner to shrink the whole selection. As I make the selection smaller, the surrounding circle around one of the letters becomes fatter, changing the look of the logo. How do I correctly make the logo smaller, without converting it to a PDF or JPEG?

I'm not sure how this is done in Photoshop, and have not yet seen any tutorials on it. I was wondering if someone could provide me with some pointers.
There are two questions for this topic, first I want to describe what I'm working on then I'll ask the questions.
I took a picture of my daughter on her first birthday riding a stuffed horse.
I then found a picture of a horse for sale on the internet and wanted to cut my daughter out and put her on the horse.
I also took a picture out my front door. and I want to put the horse in my front yard.
I'm merely doing this as a self-tutorial as I am trying to learn Photoshop - I don't have any goal with the pictures other than to learn how to accomplish two things.
1) When cutting out the horse, and my daughter for that matter, I have an issue with the hair. In the original picture the horse's tail is dangling over lush grass. I live in the desert - so I either will need to cut out some of the tail or learn how to dissolve the green from the tail. Is there a way to accomplish this in photoshop?
2) The second issue is lighting issues. The original pictures of the horse and my daughter were taken on bright sunny days. The picture in my front yard was taken overlooking a storm coming in from the mountains in the distance. So I need to learn how to blend the images correctly to fit into the stormy picture.

I'm new to photoshop CS6 and I'm having some trouble. I'm trying to make cutout pictures like Melinda Gibson (see picture 1 and 2) but I can't manage to do this. I want to take a picture of the outline of a person (see picture 3) and cut out the center of the picture over another picture. That was I have the form of the person with the background of the second picture. But I can't figure it out. I tried to "select inverse" after using the magic lasso tool but I don't get the cut out, just a line

I am new to PaintDotNet, and NOT a graphics designer, so I am struggling through the "12 Tutorials in a PDF" as well as the Kindle book "Mastering PaintDotNet", but I have a problem at the moment. What I need to do is to create a template, a Wordpress Header, which has a circular cutout through which the client's logo can be seen.
Attached is a sample of the type of thing I mean, this one has square cutouts, but I need to create a circular cutout. I am aware that I can do it by creating a transparent layer, then drawing a circle and manually erasing the contents of the circle, but that is time-consuming and not very professional looking unless I zoom in to 1000% and use a small width eraser, which would take forever.

If I save a 300 dpi image in PS CS3 as a JPEG it's about 3.5 megs. As a TIFF it's 29 megs. As a PDF print quality it's 11.5 megs. But if I go to InDesign CS3 open a document and import the 3.5 JPEG and then save it as a print quality PDF, the file is about 4 megs. Why is it 11.5 megs in PS with the same settings?

I copy a digital image from my Canon Rebel to my New Imac running OS Lion and Adobe CS5.When I view the file size, it's 3 MB before I open or do anything to it.
I open it in Photoshop and run some filters on it and the size climbs to 16 MB after I save as JPG baseline quality 12.If I again open that jpg (16MB) and apply "unsharp" mask" 6 more times and then save as JPG, baseline quality 12, the file size climbs to 20 MB on my mac.

I can't remember the rules where when you change a jpeg the box has to come up and do a save etc.
Sometime I do changes and don't have to deal with this box, and other times the box comes up, I have to resave, and file will double in size.
