I have PS CS3 and cannot figure out how to use free downloaded actions. I get them loaded and they show up in my actions folder but when I place my cursor on top of the play button, it turns to a circle with a line going through it, not allowing me to play it.
I'm going to try and attach a couple pictures but not sure if that's going to work either.
The other panels, swatches, colors etc. are all there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had such great luck getting a pencil tool frustration I've lived with for far too long fixed by simply asking a question here, so I thought I'd ask one more. I downloaded some actions from Adobe Studio Exchange. A couple of them "stole" normal function key shortcuts (i.e., clicking "f5" runs some bizarre "Polaroid" action instead of opening the brushes panel). That sucks!
I've just been immediately deleting actions whenever I've noticed this behavior--but is there any way to prevent that from occurring? I wouldn't mind keeping some of these actions around--but I'd *never* want an action to override a shortcut--nor would I ever *need* an action to even have a shortcut.
Is there a site were you can get good free plug ins or actions.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.

Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.

However what I type is stored as the name of the text layer, so it knows I've typed something in, I just can't see it.

But I can't get the brushes to. I download them into the downloads file and then move them into program files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64bit) > Presets > Brushes

There are some other folders. The other one is in program files > Adobe > Adobe Bridge CS6 (64bit) Program Files (x86) > Adobe... And In that is Fllash player, Photoshop Utilites - CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Extension Manager CS6, Adobe Bridge CS6 and Acrobat 5.0

In the program files and not Program Files (x86) And then when I moved the files into the brushes folder, I got something that said "You'll need to provide administator premission to copy to this folder." And then it asks to countunie, skip or cancel.
I downloaded picture package for CS5 and followed the read me file and still cannot get the picture package to work.

Anyways, Photoshop was having all errors etc. and I had to uninstall it (the 30 days weren't over yet, by the way). Now I have downloaded the Microsoft C++ products again, and I wanted to download Photoshop CS6 Extended again - it all was installed it perfectly, but when I opened the program, it was just Photoshop CS6 and not Photoshop CS6 Extended (and I want it because of the 3D options etc.) - and I was using the same download link from above. So, why has it downloaded the "wrong" product now?

if I could view them as a sectioned off category, similar to how fonts in different languages seem to have their own little nested categories with divider lines above/below them.
I can't stand it anymore as it really seems to be ruining my workflow having to go through each font or look as tiny previews to try and hunt for the perfect type face... Not only that but it seems you can't highlite text and use the up/down arrows to sort through them.
Did the 9.95 deal this morning. Lightroom downloaded but CS6 won't. GIves me code... unable to extract the downloaded files.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFigure 1 are my grunge brushes i want to be using. Figure 2 is showing that my grunge brushes are not showing up in the menubar. Whenever i download and place any new brushes in my brushes folder. Even after a restart they never show up in figure 2. So what keeps happening is all my brushes keep getting piled up in figure 1 and it makes it impossible to find the ones i need.. And evne if i click on load brushes they still end up in figure 1 and not in there own seperate section within figure 2. Photoshop keeps classing my brushes as one and keeps grouping them all up into an existing preset.
