View 2 Replies View Relatedcan anyone tell me where I can find either a plug-in or an action to make
the worn edge effect?
I have PS CS3 and cannot figure out how to use free downloaded actions. I get them loaded and they show up in my actions folder but when I place my cursor on top of the play button, it turns to a circle with a line going through it, not allowing me to play it.
I'm going to try and attach a couple pictures but not sure if that's going to work either.
I downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to put my actions somewhere special on my hardrive, not in apps folder.
Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.
I made a logo for one of my blogs but I can't seem to get the settings right.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from Photoshop CS3 to CS6. The patch tool did not appear to work as well in CS4 or CS5 and CS6 appears just as bad.
Â
I've attached an image showing (from left to right) a patch using:
Â
CS3;
CS6 Normal;
CS6 Content Aware.
Â
CS3 is MUCH better.Â
my setup is: Pentax K20/80-200,2.8 Star ED, dual studio flashes with semitransparent white umbrellas, X-rite color proofing card, CS5, Syncmaster 214T with Spyder2 for calibration and Epson R2400 with all the proper ICC profiles..trying to repro an artwork with many nuances, particulary blue, red and yellow, the red one will show properly. The red gets smeary and too red.
The artwork has a little more of blue in it but that does not show up in the print, just on screen. The difference from screen to paper is too big for my taste (calibrated the day before). I've recently repaired the monitor with better quality capacitors to enhance performance.
I use glossy Epson paper. Also the blue seems to bleed when printed. Resolution of picture is 360dpi as recommended by Epson. I use "keep sharp edges"when enlarging it from the original 240dpi. This has the effect of retaining the colors at least on screen. Sharp image = more pure colors.
I am trying to make a logo. I have it complete but I do not likethat the text looks a little pixilated. I want to make the text look good, in other words make it look High Quality.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using it for architectural illustrations. I am looking for a stylus that will help with brush and line effects.
View 1 Replies View Relatedso i`ve scanned some pics, and simply used ps to crop them and when i`ve printed them off they`re quite pixilated, especially when they did`t seem that bad on the screen on ps. on the print set up the quality levels are all high photo quality level, so that should`nt be a problem. I`m just wondering what can be done to reduce the pixilation. is there an effect that`s good for this??

View 6 Replies View Relatednoticed that in CS6 is u crop to 72dpi there is way to much sharpening applied to the image as compared to CS5. This is a real pain in the ass especially for a web developer.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm designing a real-estate flier for a friend and am trying to add some text to a white background. There is going to be plenty of text and photos on the sheet so I'm trying to use a font size of 8. When I printed this out the text was extremely blurry. I tried several different fonts with the same result.
What would be the best setttings to do something like this? I think I'm supposed to use CMYK Mode but am not sure about the resolution or the pixel dimensions.
I am trying to make a collage for a project and I need the pictures to have torn edges. Since I am using the original photos, I can't exactly tear them to pieces to get the look I am going for. So, please let me know if there is a good way to go about doing it in photoshop!

View 1 Replies View Relatedi am hoping to learn to paint with photoshop but can't seem to find a good tutorial. I don't have a tablet so mine never looks as good as theirs does. Can someone tell me where i can find a tutorial by someone not using a tablet.
Also, those speed things don't help because i can't tell what they are using. If no one can find a tutorial by someone using a mouse, then any good tutorial (that i could still follow with a mouse) will do.
