I'm doing this tutorial and where it say "add this layer style", well I saved the style to my "preset--style" but I don't know how to add it..
I went to layer style but got stuck cause there's no option for downloaded style...I've got PS6.
I am trying to do a style effect to a text.
The style I am pulling from an editorial CD is called Plastic Chrome, it is an ASL file.
I copied the style file into the "C:Program FilesAdobePhotoshop 7.0PresetsStyles" folder where my photoshop is located. However I cannot find the style anywhere in photoshop.
Did I apply the style correctly to photoshop?
How do I copy this style into photoshop so I can find it in order to use it?
It is a simple layer style that gives a plastic chrome look, don't know how to apply it correctly.
I'd like to create a circle with no fill but a stroke of arrow heads, so that the arrow heads appear to be following on, one after the other around the circle.
What would be the best way to do this?
Is it possible to add all RAL colors to the Inventor style library?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI finally paid one of those conversion companies to convert this QuarkXPress file that I was working with to InDesign, since InDesign seems like such a better program. Everything seemed to transfer over smoothly, and I have now been editing this document in InDesign. Unfortuantely, after a bunch of new edits, I realized the one thing that didn't seem to transfer over was the index. The old Quark file had an index with about 900+ entries in it. Is there any quick way to add all those entries back without having to go through the document and highlight the text manually, one by one by one? That would take forever. Pretty much everything that's gonna be indexed is after a paragraph marker of the paragraph style called "gray box."
Also, since each entry is bold, it was set up as having a paragraph style named "title." If IND could find anything with that style and add it as an entry, that may make my job way easier? Or will I be stuck selecting text over the next day and manually adding entries?
We have a person in the office that would like to create their own .ctb file that we would like to have them to access but they will also need to access our .ctb files (Standard). We currently restrict access to the .ctb files as they can be alterered leading to problems for everyone printing. Is there a way to create another path so they we can have a locked folder of .ctb files and an unlocked folder for .ctb files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have recorded an action to create a transparent image on a batch of photos. Next I ran the image processor using the File/Scripts/image processor. When running the action the error message occurs no matter how many ways I attempt to modify the action. Error: The object "Style "Shape Style"" is not currently available.
I then look in the action window to check and under the steps Make Fill Layer: Style: Shape, Style 1 appears but I can't delete it. This one error message makes it impossible for me to image process a batch of photos with a watermark on them.

However what I type is stored as the name of the text layer, so it knows I've typed something in, I just can't see it.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOkay, so after a month of struggling to get Potoshop CS6 Extended Teacher Student Edition to work, I was playing around, downloading brushes and actions. The actions work. But I can't get the brushes to. I download them into the downloads file and then move them into program files > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64bit) > Presets > Brushes
There are some other folders. The other one is in program files > Adobe > Adobe Bridge CS6 (64bit) Program Files (x86) > Adobe... And In that is Fllash player, Photoshop Utilites - CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Extension Manager CS6, Adobe Bridge CS6 and Acrobat 5.0
In the program files and not Program Files (x86) And then when I moved the files into the brushes folder, I got something that said "You'll need to provide administator premission to copy to this folder." And then it asks to countunie, skip or cancel.
I downloaded picture package for CS5 and followed the read me file and still cannot get the picture package to work.

An unknown error has occured." now I can't Save For Web at all. I deleted the save for web preferences and I'm still getting the same error. I'm using Windows 7 Starter btw

Anyways, Photoshop was having all errors etc. and I had to uninstall it (the 30 days weren't over yet, by the way). Now I have downloaded the Microsoft C++ products again, and I wanted to download Photoshop CS6 Extended again - it all was installed it perfectly, but when I opened the program, it was just Photoshop CS6 and not Photoshop CS6 Extended (and I want it because of the 3D options etc.) - and I was using the same download link from above. So, why has it downloaded the "wrong" product now?

if I could view them as a sectioned off category, similar to how fonts in different languages seem to have their own little nested categories with divider lines above/below them.
I can't stand it anymore as it really seems to be ruining my workflow having to go through each font or look as tiny previews to try and hunt for the perfect type face... Not only that but it seems you can't highlite text and use the up/down arrows to sort through them.
Did the 9.95 deal this morning. Lightroom downloaded but CS6 won't. GIves me code... unable to extract the downloaded files.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFigure 1 are my grunge brushes i want to be using. Figure 2 is showing that my grunge brushes are not showing up in the menubar. Whenever i download and place any new brushes in my brushes folder. Even after a restart they never show up in figure 2. So what keeps happening is all my brushes keep getting piled up in figure 1 and it makes it impossible to find the ones i need.. And evne if i click on load brushes they still end up in figure 1 and not in there own seperate section within figure 2. Photoshop keeps classing my brushes as one and keeps grouping them all up into an existing preset.
