Photoshop CS2 on OSX 10.4.8. It wont open any files, it freezes everytime and I have to force it to close. Have tried everything, uninstalled and deleted all Photoshop files, still wont work. I can open files in Image Ready but i need to open in Photoshop,?
View 1 RepliesPS auto updater pop-up. It asked me to update and install something about patch? I don't know what is was then I click "no" or "remind me later". After that everything stopped working. After I restart, everything works fine but PS.
I can open new file and save it. But when I try to open the "saved" one, the "open file" window came and gone so fast. Then the PS 's not responding. I have to close it through task manager.
I removed it and re-install it,
I've been using these two programs for some time with no problem. I recently upgraded some of my adobe software and now when I try to open CorelDRAW of Photopaint, there is no welcome screen anymore and I can't click on anything.
Is there something conflicting with the welcome screen (flash or something that the welcome screen uses) that perhaps was installed with one of the adobe products, maybe? Not sure if it matters but I updated adobe dreamweaver and fireworks.Both programs are unusable now with this loading problem.

Every time I use the drop down menu to select unit to save OR open a file, it freezes and then all the programbecomes not responding (have to force close from windows utility).
There are several drawings that when I try to open I get a popup message "References - Unresolved Reference Files". The message box is clear with only the border and the description in the blue bar at the top of the message box. AutoCad LT 2011 locks up and I have to do a Task kill. The same drawing can be opened by most of our other users, but some experience the same issue. When AutoCad is restarted, I get a "Drawing Recovery" empty/clear popup message message freezing AutoCad AGAIN, requireing another Task kill. I have to open a 3rd time, and if I had another drawing open, it's gone and doesn't appear to be recoverable.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAbout a month and a half ago, after a microsoft update, I cannot open .cdr files from the file/open list. When going to file/open, the programs hangs up, cannot even use "cancel", and have to go to Windows Task Manager to shut down the program. All is well until I try to open a file from file/open.
I can import .eps, and everything else seems fine.My work around is to open from My Documents --Which works fine. Just is a silly little aggravation.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired, etc....all the normal fixes.
I recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:

I'm using Gimp 2.8.4 on a MacBook Pro.
I have been working on an image file for several hours now, and as a result, there were MANY files open (probably over 30).
I attempted to save the file, and recieved the following error message:
"Could not read the contents of [folder name] Too many open files"
I then closed each of the open files except the file I was trying to save, but got the same results.
The same error message pops up when I try to open a file as well.
Cannot open .AI files, I have run all the updates but still having to use Fireworks to open AI files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working with both Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 on a mac. I'm creating a graphic. The background is a (cartoonish) mouth and I finished it a couple of days ago. (It's an Illustrator file.) I've been working on the letters to go inside of the mouth, (Once I'm finished it'll look as though they're being crushed.) I scanned and edited small wooden letters in Photoshop, and now I would like to work with them with the background in Illustrator. I understand how to open a Photoshop file in Illustrator, but I don't want to open the document as a separate Illustrator file. Is there a way to open a file from Photoshop as a second layer?
Some of the letters repeat as well. Will I have to create two files for this, or can I open the same file twice?
After many years of using LR this is the first time I've encountered this issue (see 1st screenshot below). LR is scrambling my files. The affected raw files open fine in other programs, including adobe photoshop cc (see 2nd screenshot).

My probelm is simply the following; everytime I run cs6 my whole computer get frozen, so I have to go and force the shoutdown, like cutting the power. Sometimes I get lucky and photoshop works, then for some reason it freezes again.
I reinstalled it many times, I even reinstalled windows 8. I started to feel that this frequent crashes are even curropting my windows 8 files, in a point that windows 8 sometimes cant get to load from the first time so I hae to repair it. Windows 8 by the way works great with me, until I install and use photoshop. Now I have got a load of work that I cannot do because I cannot run Photoshop properly.

I'm now stuck in Chapter 10, editing Videos, because I cannot open two files needed to proceed with the next excercise. I'm not able to open 3 of the 9 files in Photoshop, even tried to drag, change format, etc. All the other files with formats like MP4 and JPG have no problem opening, only those with MP3 & MOV extensions. I Should note that I can open all the files directly from windows file explorer or using Bridge, through Quicktime.
Bellow, is the message i get when I try to move the file to Photoshop.

Photoshop CS5 will not open files. Occasionally if i try to open a .psd file that has already been created by double clicking on it in its folder, it will open but I will hardly be able to edit it. For example, the brush tool does not work, crop tool, resizing image etc. I had this problem 2 weeks ago. I uninstalled adobe creative suite, ran the adobe cloud cleanup tool and then reinstalled the programs and everything worked again. However after a week everything suddenly went back to the way it was again. Very frustrating! I might as well mention that at the same time as Photoshop "crashed" I also became unable to drag objects in Illustrator and InDesign.

I thought maybe there was something wrong with the file, so I tried opening a new file, but I had the same problem. It showed the background layer, but I couldn't see the actual image.

I have checked for software updates and my version is current. when I (attempt) to view in bridge or try and open cr2 files in the latest photoshop it will not allow. I can only see the cr2 icon but no image. HOWEVER - I can view/open the files in my previous photoshop version (5) with no problem. I have seen reference to 'patches' without explanation as to how/when those are needed or is this the same as a latest software update?
