CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X4 :: Simultaneous Cropping Of Pics Using Rectangles
Aug 2, 2011I click photos of books in my library. So when I import a page on a coreldraw [the jpg image that is ] the page has 2 or more photographs. I crop each photo by making a rectangle then croppping the photo using the intersect command. however if i make 3 rectangles on a page for each photo, select the jpg image and the rectangles, use the intersect command, it doesn't work. That is to say the photos don't get cropped. I have to do this rectangle thing for each photo one by one. Is there a quick way?
Like if there's a jpg image of a page having 4 photographs, i make 4 rectangles for each photo, use the intersect command and all the photographs get cropped ?

I wish to add some nice graduated fills etc.
But I am strugglig with what should be a simple task.
I have found lots of tutorials on Background Erasing, Magic Eraser, Magic Lasoo etc etc but none on how to combine images and the various ways to use layers in these operations.
Photoshop :: Cropping For Digital Photo Frame
Dec 3, 2007I have a new digital photo frame that displays images at 480 X 234. Is there any easy technique in Photoshop to crop images to this size (or close), without manually drawing a rectangular marquee and trying to guess at it's size? Is there any way to draw a 480 X 234 pixel rectangle and then position it over the photo, then crop to the rectangle? Any suggestions would be appreciated, since I have about 500 pictures that I want to put on a memory card for Christmas.

Jul 21, 2012After cropping a photo in cs4 i have tried hitting the return key as well as edit/crop and then my photo disappears and the image box reduces in size to about 1 inch square with no image. I have expanded the image box but nil photo. This has never happened before.
I reloaded cs4 onto my computer but the problem still exists. I have also tried out opening the file from Bridge as well as Photoshop with the same result.

Feb 25, 2012I am trying to put several photos on the timeline using overlay tracks. Any taken in portrait layout have large black bars on either side which cover up the other photos on the timeline. I have tried the Crop Borders and cropping effects, but they either don't work as I thought.

That s happening in both LR4 and 5. FURTHERMORE; if the crop is vertical , from a horizontal èpicture, the photo is opened in PS BUT the crop not maintened i.e the original sized photo is shown.

Jan 28, 2013I thought that I would take a shot at a possible reason why cropping with the paper size dialog would give different results which appear to be random.Â
1. The dialog opens with the programmer assuming the user will make the paper size larger than the image. He takes the difference between the paper size’s lower right corner and the image’s lower right corner and subtracts the two. That’s a positive number since the paper size is larger than the image. It’s added to all pixel positions in the image which brings the image to the lower right corner of the paper.
2. Now consider what will happen if the paper size is smaller than the image.
Scenario 1: The user picks paper size before position. The difference between the lower right corners is now a negative number. Using negative numbers to reorder the image pixels will incorrectly display the upper right corner of the image in the canvas.
Scenario 2. The user picks position before paper size. The lower right corners of the image and paper are set equal. Reducing the paper size now leaves the lower right corner of the image to be displayed.

Thus the display of the corner of the image appears to be random. However, it’s following the orders given by the user. Without doubt, there are other possible scenarios for this behavior.

Photoshop :: Erasing Through Several Layers
Aug 1, 2011In a .psd-document, I'm working in many layers. Each layer has a different color. What i want to do is to be able to erase trough several layers a time with an eraser with some 'softness' and some 'opacity', and just a tiny bit of 'hardness'. The eraser should affect the upper layers more than the lower layers - ideally in an exponential-curve.
I've made a muck-up erasing manually less and less trough five layers, just to let you know visually what i want to do:
The eraser takes away a lot of the first layer, but barely touches the one lowest.

Feb 8, 2013I have a shot with an item on a white background. I have selected the white background and used the background eraser to remove the white. Is there a tip to determine that I have it all erased?
Many times I complete the erasing only to find several areas I have not fully erased. The checkerboard background makes it too hard to the areas I might have missed. Is there a better way?

Dec 8, 2008I had overlapping shapes with the stroke layer style and I wanted to erase part of the shape so it was white there rather than a line from the overlapping. Apparently now with CS4 you cant just simply erase lines if the layer you are in has a stroke layer? Cuz when I erase, it just like pushes the line, which ultimately is very cool, if I wanted to keep the line but erase the shape to create a custom one. But I just want to get rid of the line. I think I knew how to merge shapes in CS3 for them to share the same outline, but I dont know how now. Plus I dont think that is what I want cuz I only want the shapes to share the outline in a specific area.
how to merge shapes though? Like if you put two circles together like a ven diagram and then merge them so they have 1 outline not intersecting it gets rid of the middle lines that create a sort of () shape and instead you have 1 big outline of 2 circles?

But I want to know how to rid the black in the background and around the fire without erasing the shadows in the fire and making it look like I did so. May 4, 2006I've never had trouble erasing through adjustment layers (ie a levels or curves layer), but as of today, I am unable to erase through any adjustment layers. The history log shows I'm using the eraser tool, but nothing happens within the layer I'm trying to erase. I don't seem to have a problem erasing through duplicate background layers.

Sep 8, 2007i'm making some signatures for the reptile sites i use out of photos taken.
I have one photo of a lizard that is on a white flooring, so i was trying to replace the white with a brown colour using the colour replacement tool. It went horribly... I kept playing with the options but the white just got replaced by pale, obvious colours no matter which colours i picked so i gave up.
Now i was getting into another pic and want to erase the background and after selecting the eraser tool, it just started colouring it in with the fore-colour instead of erasing. I've tried changing the colour replacement options and got it so that it just does nothing when i try to erase.
My colour replacement settings are:
mode - hue
sampling - continuous
limits - contiguous
tolerence - 30%
anti-alias ticked
My eraser settings are:
brush
opacity - 100%
flow - 100%
erase to history ticked.
how i can reset my photoshop back to default settings ...
Photoshop :: Deleting/erasing Portion Of A Stroke
Dec 19, 2007I'm trying to delete or erase a portion of a stroke but the stroke "moves around" when using the eraser tool or it simply just shifts if I try to use the marquee tool then hitting delete.
I've tried a few methods of the stroke and they all seem to not want to be partially deleted.
I've tried the Rectangle Tool in the Shape layers mode, then I rasterize the shape, then grab the erase - no luck.
I think I mostly need direction on what tool I should use in makin the stroke.
