But somehow it isnt working.Then I tried to create this figure myself by creating two circles (one at the top and the other at the bottom) and then creating the path for using the sweep command , but it gives a error " sweep produces self intersecting curves".
convert this surface in to a sloid volume or if thats not possible can this geometry be created to the nearest possible approximation.

Nov 22, 2011I am able in lisp to create a command prompt selection menu, easy (see code below).However what I want is for the lisp to be ready to undertake an action UNLESS I select an option.
An example is the offset command wich has a function ready to roll (namely the specify offset distance) "OR" I can interrupt the "specify offset distance" and enter one of the sub options (in the case of offset Through/ Erase/Layer).

Nov 21, 2010I am currently writing a series of routines for setting the layers for text, leaders and dimension commands. The end goal is a system where any annotation command sets the correct layer for the duration of the command, then reverts back to the layer that was active before the command.
I have managed to complete all the code, and it appears to be working fine, I just have one question: I have used -layer "m" "Lay_name" etc... for all layer setting commands, rather than any code to see if the layer exists already. In my limited testing this seems to be suitable, nothing that exists on that layer seems to be affected.
I know how to write code to determine if the layer exists already and set the layer instead, but so far it seems unnecessary??

May 15, 2012I press CTRL+9 to make the Command Line disappear while drawing. When I plot (or when doing a plot preview) , the Command Line appears again by itself. So I always have to turn the Command Line off manually after each plot
The bug still happens;
- if Dynamic Input is turned off or on
- if I plot to a real device or in PDF
- if the Cammand Line Palette i docked or floating.
This is not an issue in AutoCAD 2012 so I guess it has to do with the new way they programmed the revamped Command Line palette in 2013.

Oct 24, 2011I need to save a drawing file and give it the name of my desire using a single command, I don't want to issue "saveas" and then specify the name in the file name prompt. This problem is has been faced when I was using ScriptPro and I couldn't succeeded to do that. Hence I need to know if it is feasible to do the stuff using a single command. It will be preferred if I can choose the location to save the file also rather than save the file to the default location.

if you care to not click-through, the problem is that certain commands (not all of them) simply do not disply in the command line. so the MOVE command for example looks like this:

Jul 20, 2013Although a long time PS veteran, (currently CS5), for some reason I just never really got into the actions. Well a few days ago I learned a technique for making pencil drawings from photos and I surprised that I actually liked the results. Since a client wanted me to do this to many images, I thought it would be foolish not to create an action for it so I did so but every time I try to run the action, about half way through, I get the following message.....The command "Invert" is not currently available.
1. Check color mode of image
2. Make sure "add mask by default is checked in the adjustment layers settings
3. Make sure "add default masks on fill layer is checked in the layers panel options
Photoshop :: Place ... Command
Dec 16, 2008When I try to use the Place command it doesn't place the jpg at the center of the document. This is a problem because I'm using Place in many actions that I've created and if the jpg doesn't start at center of the document, then the translation is off.
Details: The document template I am using is 1960x3010. previously in CS3 when I placed a jpg or w/e it always put it at the center of the document (980,1505). Now in CS4 I goto use my actions and the Place command and it's always slightly off. The Place command is putting things at 983,1505.5 and such, which screws up the final placement of the images. SO what can I do?? Oh and I have tried this on OSX and Windows machines, bother with same wrong result. I have roughly 100 actions that use Place and would rather not have to go through and try and fix every single one manually when they worked perfect in CS3.

Jul 26, 2006I'm using PS 7.0 and I'm pretty new to it. I'm having trouble exiting some commands when I am in the middle of them and decide not to use it. The Esc key works on some commands, right-clicking and then 'deselecting' works on some commands.

with the new layer selected, going to the menu item filter/blur/Gaussian Blur I have reset the preferences by pressing ctrl/alt/shift while bringing up Photoshop. I also have reinstalled (repaired) Photoshop. I've tried many different pictures with several formats (raw, .psd, .jpg) with no luck. Interestingly enough, the filter Lens Blur does come up with the screen.

Photoshop :: Batch Command
Aug 13, 2008What I tried to do was simply convert RAW files (CR2) to JPEGs. I built an action and invoked it via the batch command. The batch command worked but I got an error message for each of the XMP side-car files which happen to be in the same "source" folder. (I also got an error message for the "bridgesort" file that the Bridge placed in the source folder.) Of course, I could delete the XMPs but that would undo the edits to the raw files.
My action simply opens the raw file and then does a "save as" to JPEG. The raw files need to retain the editing that is contained in the XMP side car.
The only alternative that I know of is to bring the raw files into photoshop manually and then perform the action manually. This would work (i.e., I would end up with a raw file converted to a JPEG file) but there are 600 images and it would take me a VERY long time to do them one at a time.
Is there a way to do this via the batch command or some other automated command?

May 1, 2009I recently installed photoshop CS2 on a new computer and the default keyboard command for the arrows to move anything 1 pix at a time is not functioning, I can not find where in the keyboard command editor is the tab for manually inputing the arrows for pix movement.

Jun 6, 2012 I previously had a few CS5 apps installed. They were volume license versions of some sort available through the school I was working at. (I don't know the details of the installation — the school network guys did it for me.) In these apps, the Update command was also unavailable ... I sort of assumed it was something odd with the install (maybe the update manager was not included) so I downloaded and installed updates manually from Adobe.com.
I have since left the school and dumped the apps. I just picked up a personal copy of Photoshop CS6. I find that the "Updates" command is still unavailable, but this is a regular install so I am crying foul.
I found this page about disabling the update manager for CS5 and CS6. I checked and sure enough I had a copy of AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat with updates suppressed, as mentioned in the article. Must be left over from my previous CS5 install, as I sure have never touched that file myself. However, upon removing it, my "Updates" command is still not available.
Is there some other way that updates can be disabled that I have not found yet? Is there a way to launch the update manager outside of the application?
