Oct 19, 2008I am in the process of producing a photo book for my parents 60th wedding anniversary and I want to include a montage of approx 70 photos throughout their marriage. My image size will be 60cm by 30cm and the final jpeg will be inserted into the book via some photobook software provided by the printing company (there are loads of these companies around on the web). FYI I am using P/Shop CS3.
I have created the montage by simply copying the required photos onto my 60 x 30 canvas. When I did the first one, my poor pc struggled to save it. When it finally did, I inserted it into the photobook software but the quality was very poor. The photobook company said it was probably a memory problem with my PC. The file size at this point was approx 12mb.
I have saved each one at a medium level of 5 and remade my montage. Again, I am still having problems being able to view it within the photobook software. I have spent months on this anniversary book to date and obviously don't want to get it all printed to then find my montage is blurry!
Within photoshop, my montage looks great! Is the photobook company correct in that it is a memory problem with my pc? Is there any way, I can reduce the file size without losing image quality? I have even split the montage into 3 different files (left, middle and right) and it is still blurry (outside photoshop)!

Mar 29, 2005how to use Photoshop and doing digital scrapbooking. You've helped me in the past with fibers. There is a current digital contest with a category of "Graphic/Montage/Artsy." Seems like an all inclusive category, right? Well, it makes sense to scrapbookers. I would covet your suggestions on what I can do to enhance my entry. I removed most of the background from image which is my primary focus. I duplicated the layer and on the right used a layer style of hardmix. On the right I used a layer style of hard light. Part of the contest is the word art, and I think I found a quote that fits the picture of my grand daughter.

Mar 6, 2009I use Memories on TV to make picture montages. Some times when I make a opening picture in Photoshop like a title or some thing. I get a white edge around two side of the first image of the slide show. I found a action one time that was to remove that. Does anyone here know where I can get this action or a different way to remove this white edge?

Photoshop :: How To Handle Multiple Image Montage With Color Corrections
Mar 26, 2013I am using Photoshop CS5 and am creating a photo montage poster with about 30 images on it. The photos are not stellar and I need to change levels, exposure, saturation etc to each image. I was creating groups from layers for each image then dropping it onto the montage file, but I see that filters effect every layer below.
I have a gradient layer as my background and I don't want it affected nor do I want every layer below affected. I created smart layers from each image, that works, but it really slows the system down. What is the smartest and most efficient way to handle this?

Mar 4, 2014i have a photo montage at the end of a video and im looking for some way to automate the moving/scrolling/flow of the pics. i have a particle element (with a trail) that comes in flying through in 3d space. im trying to have the photos dissolve in one at a time in 3d space like they're flying at the camera slowly in front of this particle effect.
trying to not have to animate every single one of these by hand.

I have 6 jpeg photos, and i bring them all into one. All photos are named different. After reading the forums, the next step is FILE>SAVEAS. Next, you select COMPUSERVE.gif. Once I select that, I have no idea where to go.

Eventually I will ask, but..I made a pdf in Photoshop, basically using the High Quality print settings.Normally, when I open a pdf in Photoshop that was made in Photoshop I am able to see the layers, adjustment layers..etc..I tried opening this .pdf in Photoshop 7.0 & it had asked me to rasterize it with that dialog screen, although I did have Preserve Photoshop Editing Capabilities checked.

Feb 19, 2013I want to create a droplet in CS6 that I can drag lots of images to and simply have it resize those images and save them to a new folder. I create an action to change the image size and save the images to a folder as a .jpg. I then create a droplet based on this action. I tried several times to drag images onto the droplet, though as it goes through the images it prompts me with questions as it is saving the images, and it never actually saves the optimized images to a folder.

Sep 4, 2013I created a new file, set my sizes and all that, 8bit and began...I literally am using the line tool to make a straight line vertically, I then want to use my brush at 2pixels and 100 hardness to "stroke path", I set my brush then select path selection tool and right click on the line, but "stroke path" is grayed out? I really don't understand. I am following these directions from a website on how to create postcard back.
this is what i was following:
Create a new document with the same exact specifications used earlier for the front. Grab the Line tool and draw a straight vertical line shorter than the postcard’s height, and then place it slightly off center. Set your brush to a size of one or two pixels with a hardness of 100 percent. With the Path Selection tool, right click on the line and choose “Stroke Path.”

Sep 26, 2012I'm creating a criminal line out background . I'm using the line tool to create the lines. I have renamed it in the path tool created a clipping mask but when I flatten the image once finished the lines disappear.
I have also tried creating a new layer naming it putting it between my copied layer and background but once again when flattening the image it doesn't keep the lines. I'm using CS4 .

Jul 11, 2012I am running Windows 7. I created an Action in Photoshop CS6 that includes placing a rectangle and a logo on the bottom right hand corner of my images and then centered in the middle of the rectangle is text of the event (Event name, Location, Date). After creating everything, I flatten the image, resize it down to a size reasonable for the web, then I save the image to a folder, close the document and click on the STOP button in the Actions panel.
Afterwards, I go into File>Automate>Batch and choose the Action that I just created. In running the action, I notice that the text that I placed into the rectangle on my document is now scaling down to a considerably much smaller size than what I had it set to.

It showed the video and played it the first time I tried it but I'm pretty sure I accidentally clicked on something that won't let it show the video anymore and I can't figure out how to undo do it.

Oct 31, 2002I'm messing around with a project for fun and I'm wondering if any of you guys know a great way to make a realistic bar code/UPC image with the thick and thin, black, vertical lines aligned up horizontally? I tried this approach into creating one, but it just wasn't working for me. Here's the method I tried to use (in case some of you have a similar method).
1) Layer 1, start with a white background (hope I didn't lose anyone with this step ;P).
2) I added a Noise filter with the settings of Monochromatic and Gaussian Blur at 400% on Layer 1.
3) Then, I applied the Motion Blur filter 90 Degrees and had the distance set to 999 pixels.
4) Then, I tried to do some adjusting with Curves to brighten it up because before this point, it was just a black and gray image.
And this is where I came close, but no go. I haven't been able to turn the gray into a solid white and I tried using the Magic Wand tool to just select the gray areas and fill them in with white, but that didn't help cause it was blurry and it wasn't all one shade of gray. Any help or if you know another method is doing this will be helpful. Yah, I could just use the line tool and just create thick and thin vertical lines all the way across, but just wondering if anyone else had a better method.
