I am going to make a large graphic about 10 feet x 9 feet using 150 resolution. I have this image in 300ppi that is roughly 12x8 inches. Can this image cover the background of the large graphic without looking too fuzzy?

The hard part is, the company is doing a full rebrand and one of the members is not available to do a new photo shoot so we have to use the wonderful existing ones but need to go over the old logo. I have cropped the photo out as much as I can but have not had enough luck with using the cloning tool on such a large space with a small amount of light change as it comes up looking like the bright blue wall behind us is streaky. How can I do this successfully?
I am using Photoshop Elements 11. I am new to these types of softwares. I used to do this stuff with filters etc in dark rooms developing my own film. I am trying to do some Lynda courses on how to use the software better but am on a time deadline for getting this website completed.
I need to cover a rooftop with large size gravel. In the past I've used texture maps and its looked ok but I want it to look more realistic.
Substance material? Actual geometry?
If I used actual geometry, would you recommend scatter, or painting the rocks on the surface? Do either of those solutions take into account collisions with each other? (There won't be any animation...I just want to avoid rocks intersecting each other)

I have a pic of a diamond ring where I'd like to get rid of the background. I started using magic eraser tool, but there is still some fuzzy area around the ring. I've tried the Polygonal-lasso-tool,- but not very good... maybe I just don't have enough experience using it...? any other ways?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a scene showing a wide plain heading towards low mountains. The perspective is such that the mountains appear to be about 1/2 a mile away, across a basic southwest desert plain covered by dry-looking yellow grass, sagebrush, some cactus, etc.
My problem is how best to cover the plain with grass so that it's covered well enough to look realistic. Paint Effects works beautifully, and eventually I'll place clumps and varieties throughout, but covering such a large area by painting short grass all over is time consuming. All I've seen by searching online suggests using Paint Effects to paint in grass, which works, but it's extremely time consuming. If the only way is to spray a little bit then convert it to polygons, watch the coverage drop due to the polygon count, then repeat the process...something tells me this can't be the most efficient way.
How to more quickly cover a large area with decent looking grass. I suspect a nice combination of the right surface texture underneath Paint Effects might do the trick,.
How do I get it so that when I draw a shape it will fill with color? In my options bar there is a rectangle with color where I can choose that, but sometimes that's not up. How do I pull it up?

the background masking is not working. You get a line going through the text.

i want to background the whole image with "digi camo"....except i want the camo to be orange/purple/white, all the "digi camo" tutorials on line didn't really make a good picture but i actually found a generator website and have attached a photo of the base of the digi camo i want. Now my first task would be i guess "tiling" this pattern to stretch the whole document? I have researched tiling but have been getting awful results from following the tutorials, was hoping someone could help me out with tiling and/or creating a consistent pattern tile so as not to show breaks(visible line) on the final background.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've been using Photoshop 7 for years and have some .png graphic elements with clear backgrounds, which I use to make cover photos for a Facebook page. When I open these graphic files with paint.net I expect to see two layers - one for the clear background and one for the graphic itself, but instead I see just one layer. If I then open a photo and try to paste the graphic overlay on top of it the clear background doesn't work, the checkerboard pattern is displayed instead.
is there a simple way to make these files work as they used to in Photoshop, i.e without going to the trouble of masking things off and clearing backgrounds all over again? Can they be opened in paint.net with the see-through background fully functional from the off?
Anyway, I have a simple graphic that has a white background. I want to put it on a webpage that is not white. So I want the white area on the graphic to be transparent.

I have a JPG with a graphic over a white background. I converted to GIF using Corel PHOTOPAINT. In the GIF Export window, hitting the background with the eyedropper tool is supposed to make anything that color transparent. Things appeared to be working when I clicked the Preview button. But....
Whenever I try to put this new GIF on top of another bitmap, I still have the white rectangle background. I tried I converting the secondary background image to GIF, but I still have the original white box around the first image.
This was really easy using fireworks, how I can do this so I can get a transparent background.

The project is 16x9 and video is 4x3 which I have left-centered [so there is a black "stripe" to the right of the video image] As she talks about certain events, I will have .JPG photos show on overlay tracks 2 & 3 in this "black stripe" area
I desire to make the "black stripe" are match the wall behind Mom so project looks more Professional
Question: How can I create a color chip that matches the background painted wall. All I can think of is to create a screen capture, open that is PAINT, and read-off the color coordinates.
Note: My only Corel product is VSPro.
I used to use MediaStudio Pro to create picture in picture especially where the picture starts small and grows to cover the entire background video clip.
I looked for and found a video filter which I thought would allow me to do the same. However after viewing the 'help' for the filter and trying just about everything I could think of I cannot achieve what I want to do if start with a video clip and then have another video clip appear (very small) in one area of the background video and then slowly grow larger to eventually cover the background video clip.
I can make the picture in picture appear and grow larger but it covers the entire background video clip with black effectively covering it no matter what size my picture in picture is. I looked for a chroma key to cover the black out but could not find it.
Does anyone know of a tutorial or a site that may explain how to do this? I dont mind redrawing the graphic, but i would like vector graphic made.

ive got a red sock and a white sock, and i want to place the colors black red yellow onto the red sock, so that it looks as realistic as poissible. problem is that i cant get the structure of the sock onto the new colors (i tried diffrent blending modes, displace).

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn organizer when I select a picture in the thumbnail view, it first appears fuzzy, then after a second or two, it crisps up. This used to happen with PSE 3 and when I upgraded several months ago to PSE 6, it stopped. Now it seems to be back again.
Does this delay have something to do with the quantity of pictures or memory configuration, or what?

I have tried for the life of me to figure this one out...why is my text ALWAYS fuzzy when I print it out, no matter what I do? I am not manipulating it at all, just typing it on my page, then printing. I have tried checking and unchecking "scale to fit media", I have tried printing straight from the psd file, I have tried printing from a saved jpg image. It's not too bad but bad enough. The ad is for a retirement community and I'm concerned with the seniors having issue with reading the text. This ad is going in a news paper. I ran a differant one last year and had the same issue. Even though the message got across to the public, the ad still was not up to how I wanted it.
