I accidently saved this picture as a JPG and now i cant edit it because it was supposed to go on top of another design, so in other words, i was supposed to save it as an adobe file becuse it was supposed to have a transparent background, not white!
I am trying to access the edit original (edit with) option to edit a photo that has not been edited yet. I right click and go through the edit menu and does not appear or is not available? Would I have to reopen it manual in photoshop or is there a way around this to access that setting? it sometimes does not appear on my already edited photos.
I would prefer not to open each photo again, as some files i do not have and were imported into the document with another computer.
I am just starting out with the Photoshop CS5 trial. I am trying to apply a triangular pattern to a thin rectangular shape. I used the custom shape tool>triangle, then defined the pattern successfully. However, when I apply the pattern it partially repeats it along the vertical as well as the horizontal axis. Please see attached screenshot:
I only want it to repeat horizontally, what am I doing wrong?
Also, I am Fireworks CS5 user and am really missing the properties inspector panel which allows you to quickly and esily edit sizes of objects, is there a Photoshop equivalent of this?........at the moment the only way I can find to edit objects is through Edit>Free Transform.
I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
I was trying to play around with the software to get to know it, and... well, I think I made something weird in it. Everything was flowing nicely when I was following the tutorial about Editing Objects: I created a box, I selected that edit poly option from the modify tab and I could edit vertices totally nicely.
But then, I really don't know what happened, but, I don't know exactly when, I suddenly could not move the vertices AT ALL. They are pretty visible, but when I select them, they turn red and the axis are not editable! I'm so confused! I can edit the axis very normally if I'm using an option like Select and Move but... With the edit poly thing I just cannot! I tried everything I thought of: Made a new box, restarted the program, restarted the PC! But NOTHING worked.
EDIT: It took me almost an hour to figure out I wasn’t selecting the Select and Move tool!
I created a rollover button in ImageReady and saved it as a psd which I hadn't done in awhile, so my question is can I go back in and edit that psd? I need to make more buttons, so I need to change the wording on the button. I've tried editing the button, but nothing is working. Should I have saved the button in something other than a psd to edit it again?
how to take the background out of a .gif in PS7? Well it's not really the background that I need to edit, it's text. If anyones knows how to removes the text without effecting the background,
I was asked to edit an image that was originally made in Photoshop. I was sent the PSD file - from the person who designed the image - and opened it in Photoshop CS6. However, I cannot figure out how to edit it because there is only one layer now, called "Layer 1". Is there a way to expand the original layers or do something similar, so that I can edit the image properly?
I started creating a path, but I somehow interrupt the process and now I don't know how to continue. Whenever I try create new point I create a new path, but I want to continue with making my original (unfinished) path.
I am using the Mac version of CS6. I have a psd file of a diet guide that I am trying to edit. When I open up the file, the doc is very very small. At 100%, the doc is very small. I can read or see anything on it. When I zoom into the doc so I can actually see the text I want to edit, it becomes a blur. So how am I suppose to be able to edit it?
I am trying to edit a psd of a logo for a company i am working for,

but when i open it says something like "can not open, file might be corrupted" the psd is done in CS4 and iam trying to open it in CS6, what can it be?
I'm trying to edit an action. I'm trying to change how I move something. I'm using a mac, I've tried clicking on the specific item in the action and hitting record; NO JOY.
I've tried selecting 'record again', but NO JOY. When I click on 'record again', it quickly goes to reord, then out of record and then it's back to normal as if it wasn't recording. I've put in a lot of work on this action it's a shame.
The action itself, is placing an image as a watermark, then moving it down and centre, slightly editing the image with effects, then finally flattening the image. Auto colour tone etc.
So I've installed the trial and PS6 stops working when I try to import video frames to layers. The file is AVI and its about 5mb in size. Maybe there are some settings I can look at? I'm searching the forums looking for a solution and

I created a vector in Illustrator but want to edit it in Photoshop with some of the effects Photoshop offers. Can I do this and have it still remain a vector?
I've just reinstalled ID CS4 along with PS CS5 on my home computer, having used both programmes in conjunction with no issue at work.
My (one of many) issue is from ID when I try to edit an image with PS, it (only sometimes) asks for the serial number for PS to continue, or set up a 30 day trial. I have the PS software set up and it works on it's own right. Why o why is it now playing up?
I even tried entering the PS serial number in this pop up box just to shut it up, but of course, it's invalid as I've already used the number for PS in the first place.
I am trying to edit some VOB files from my daughter's wedding CD. But Photoshop won't accept that format. I read that I could just change the extension to AVI and drag them in. I did that and it opened them but the video and audio didn't sync. The size was distorted but I figured out that I could change the aspect ratio to widescreen from the view menu which looks pretty normal. But I see black lines on the sides of the video. What do I have to do to be able to edit the video??
I need to make picture 1 & 2 (attached to this e-mail) look like picture 3 & 4 (shown below) I have taken the shoots using a light tent i am not sure how he is achieving his nice yellow gold finish, pictures 3 and 4. Please can you try and match 1 and 2 (attached) to look like 3 and 4
I have played around with it and got quite good results which you can see here but still not quite right if you see what i mean. I am desperate to get this right.
"editing or rendering the text layer "text layer name" will cause its layout to change" "CONTINUE?"
How do i stop that from popping up?
also, everytime i open up a design i have made, it has little yellow triangles with exclamation points in them on the text box in the LAYERS window.. What the shit is with that?
I have a .psd document but I am unable to select all the layers/elements to resize. The banner was made a little too wide and I'm trying to void recreating it entirely.
when I make more than one copy of the background layer, I can't seem to make changes to the newly created layer. I've done some experimenting, and it seems that I can do things like crop, etc., but when I try to paint or use the clone or healing brush tools, the changes don't show up at all. My layer is not locked so I'm not sure what the problem is. Basically, I start by either doing a duplicate layer or a copy of the background layer. The first time I do this, the new layer works fine. However, if I try to do another copy/duplicate of the background layer, the second copy doesn't allow me to make the kinds of changes mentioned above. If I copy the original copy of background layer it seems to work fine.
