Photoshop :: Best Way To Change Parts Of The Body?
Nov 4, 2013What's the best way to change parts of the body? Should I be using masking?

View 3 RepliesI have an insert that I'd like to split into several layers. Is it possible to do this with the split tool, or is it limited to only one "split tool" at a time?
In the picture, the wireframe is the 'insert', the letters indicative of cavities cut into the insert. The purple sketch lines would be typical of where the solid part would be split into multiple parts.

what this error means and what's causing it and how to fix it?
IV2010, editing a multi body part gives these errors:
1. No more memory available. Attempt to allocate 208 bytes of memory failed.
and
2. See attached.
This error is preventing me from saving or closing the program.
I am working on a multi body IPT and i would like to use some purchased valves and air cylinders in the design. Is it possible to put them into the IPT. I have downloaded the cad files and converted them to IPTs.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 17 years of Unigraphics / NX and 2 months of AutoCAD 2013 3D experience . I am designing a welded table that has lots of tubes to be aligned to each other. It appears that snaps do not work on solids and there is no way to do a point to point solid move in Inventor. Is there any way to select a solid, snap to a base point, then move or copy to a snap destination point of another solid? Does this need to be done in an assembly drawing? If so, do I have to create a file for each tube and then bring each of them into an assembly? I would like to draw the table as one part. Designing all the parts together. The lack of snaps is strange to me. I can only snap to end points in sketches. No midpoints?? I must be missing something very basic and easy. I have not tried an assembly drawing yet.
I have been working through hours and hours of training videos. Everything but move, copy and paste has been pretty easy. I think I need to find an AutoCAD to Inventor transition video. There are no training courses in my area. So I'm stuck with online training. This problem is never addressed and I can't ask the question on a video.
How do you separate two objects that are considered to be the same body.
I have an car airbox made up of two separate solid objects. How can I separate them? see the attached image for a better understanding of my situation.
So there seems to be a problem with the multi body part functions in 2013.
Once you create a multi body, or a multi body feature, and then try to go back and edit it you can no longer select difference bodies.
A little more digging and it almost seems like the problem is that you can not use "ctrl" to multi select bodies.

When I try to suppress the bodies in the multi-bodies part to clarify the drawing view, I can not do that the way I normally do that if I had an assembly and suppressed the component.
Is it something Autodesk can improve on or rather something I overlook.
I want to reduce the length of the legs a bit and straighten the back one out a bit.How can you go about this without changing a lot of the anchor points? Is there a way to select a portion of the leg or image and move it separately?

example :i made a radius with the command "fillet edges",radius=50 mm.
the next day i decided to cahnge to radius= 30 mm.
i presssed the "ctrl" bottom, clicked the radius surface to change ,but in the properties tab was written "solid face",with no radius change option.
finnaly i delleted the radius face, and made a new solid edge radius.....
is this the only way?
(solidhist variable is set to 1 ).
Can I export a solid from a multi body part to an other part file. how?

How do I create an Inventor part with a cost that will update according to the part dimensions changing. For example, we design products using aluminum extrusions and our cost is determined by foot length. How can I create the extrusion part to have a per foot cost that will dynamically update when I change the parts length for an assembly? It seems to me to be a fundamental need for many industries.
I will happily take any links to information that will explain this process. I cannot find anything online that clearly explains the process of creating parts with costs and variables.
If I need to change the material of all parts in an assembly I find it convenient to do this in the BOM. In the 'parts only' view I add the material column, change the first one and just drag it down like in Excel.
There are however some parts where the material is greyed-out (see attached image) and I cannot change them in to something else. I already traced this to parts which are present in multiple different sub-assemblies. I guess that's also the reason for the blueish/red icon instead of a normal part icon.
If I open one of the sub-assemblies the part is fine and I can change the material.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have two parts, one uses some parameters from another one by link.
Now I have copied both and need to update ties between copies since a copy still has a link to original part.
Seems like there is no possible to just change or edit a link from one part to another in Parameters window.
Instead to update a new link I should clean all borrowed parameters in all sketches, delete the folder, make new link and set all parameters back. is it possible to change or edit the link in some easy way?
Any macro to do it automatically....
i still have the change occurrence layer based on material macro but cant seem to find the change layer based on part...
yes we are still using autocad in conjunction with inventor, and on a side note have been quite enjoying the new parameters, dynamic blocks, easy scripts and customization features in autocad.
I wish I can open my general assembly BOM and set the proper Materials to my all my parts after migration from 2012 release.
But I cannot change Material for the some custom part in the assembly BOM in the Parts Only tab. Parts refusing to change a Material have special symbol and I guess it means “promoted assembly” – no info regarding these symbols.
I can change any Material in Structured and Model Data tabs but it is extremely inconvenient for the big assembly.
[URL]....
The questions is: Why those promoted assemblies have inaccessible Material in the Parts Only tab?
I have similar subassemblies built in similar way as you can see fro video, but one is treated as promoted assembly and other as promoted part, the question is what possible difference between those is?
The BOM structure of the library parts is set up as "purchased" and I cannot change it for some reason..... is there any way to change this?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI need to change an entire assembly's parts to a different material. How can I do this without editing each part?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI couldn't found a way to change the materials of the standard parts in Inventor, so i made a (quick and dirty) VBA program so i can change the material and color of the publiced (and used in projects) parts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to change an iProperty, specifically the iProperties->Project->Project field for multiple parts automatically.
I use the iLogic Design Copy Tool to copy over an entire project, and for the most part the only changes is the project number.
I didn't see a way to change this in the Design Copy Tool, possibly there is some other tools that can do this that I don't know about. But if not, I am assuming a small script (VBA??) would be required to do this? whether it is in Inventor or just an outside program to carry out this change.
I found this old thread, but it seems that people just found another way to do this?

My workflow would follow something like this:
-Use iLogic Design Copy Tool to copy over project to new folder
-Open up full assembly
-Run rule or script to update all parts in assembly with new Project iProperty
-Save
-update the drawings as I need, (they will all need to be reviewed as some parts will be modified anyways)

Below are 2 rules that run in succession to create and save a parts list from a base view in a drawing.
I am now trying to set the parts list style to a custom style, ideally while creating the list.
Also, I have to manually go into the list to turn off visibility of certain items (based on material), does I can do this with Ilogic? I ask because these steps precede a rule that automates placing base views of all parts in the parts list. If I could get the style and visibility right, I could automate the entire process.
Looking for changing such a style with ilogic?

I have an assembly with multiple parts.
I wish to change the colour (how they're displayed) of a few of them.
When i right click on the part, i can select iProperties>Occurrence>Appearance
When i control + select multiple items, then right click, the Appearance tab is greyed out.
Not a huge problem at the moment, but in future, I may wish to make 30 + different parts a different colour and would like to do it in one step.
I need an ilogic rule to autmoatically change the style of the parts list in a drawing file. The parts list style already exist in the drawing.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThese Application Options settings change not infrequently and for reasons that I cannot be certain of:
Sketch:
Enable Heads-up Display
Edit Dimension when created
Look at sketch...on...creation
Part:
No new sketch goes to x-y plane
This may happen after when I open parts from Inventor 2011 (maybe 2010) into 2012, then create a new part. I would expect the 2012 App Options to be the master, so I don't know why a legacy part would be allowed to change those settings.

I am using this code placed in the .ipt file to change Sheet Metal material
If Material_SM=1 TheniProperties.Material="Steel"SheetMetal.SetActiveStyle("RB_Mild Steel")ElseiProperties.Material="AISI316"SheetMetal.SetActiveStyle("RB_Stainless")End If
It works fine presuming code placed in every .ipt file to be ruled.
Is it possible to modify code in a way so when it placed in top assebly it runs through entire assembly finds all Sheet Metal parts and applys Material prpperties/Sheet metal style according Material_SM parameter.

When creating my plan set, I need to data reference pipe networks into other drawings than that in which they were designed to show crossings in profile views or to separate out profiles into managable drawings. When I do this, if I have swapped a type-13 inlet for a 10' type R inlet or something during design, the data referenced pipe network will replace the 10' type R with a default inlet. Also if I have swapped a proposed 30" pipe for an existing 30" that have different styles, the data referenced pipe network will revert back to the proposed 30" pipe. how to make a data referenced pipe network reflect what is currently in the design drawing?
