View 5 RepliesI installed CS6 Design Standard (perpetual license) on my Retina 15 inch Macbook Pro (OS X 10.8.2) today.
Ran a couple of updates after the installation but no retina update for AI or PS among them. After a quick google search I read I had to manually update the Application Manager. Done that. Finds update for AI & PS. AI is now v. 16.0.3 and retina, PS is now v. 13.0.3 but NOT retina.Afterwards I downloaded the 13.0.3 patch but this didn't change anything.I uninstalled PS (+ removed preferences) with the Adobe Uninstaller. Reinstalled it and ran al updates, Application Manager finds 13.0.3 update again, runs the update and it is still not retina. It blows my mind how many steps, google searches, manual updates, patches it takes to update AI & PS "properly" and apparently it still does not work for PS.
I have buyed a Macbook Pro Retina, on Mountain Lion 10.8.2, and when i've tried to open a .psd with photoshop i can't do anything, the interface just froze.I've tried the latest version, by downloading it right from Adobe's web site, but the issues were still there. The most awkward part is, the previous version work nice, CS4 and CS5 are working great so far, only the latest doesn't work, i've took screenshot and video..The probleme appear when i try to create a document or open an odl one, i juste can't use photoshop CS6 on MacbookPro Retina.t

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo recently I bought a macbook pro retina 15' for mobility purposes and for the color quality. I've heard good things that come out of production on it to begin with but when I got my hands on photoshop cs6, nothing but brush lag ensues.
The issue often happens when I zoom in to do minor details or using a brush larger than 500 pixels. It's not productive to do a stroke and have the program take a while to recognize the stroke before it appears. I believe that being a Macbook Pro owner, I should have met the requirements. Also I do notice this problem occuring on other high-end non apple computers such as asus. I find it quite a joke and I do honestly believe it's on adobe's end. Even my old Hp pavillion runs photoshop cs5 just fine.

I am a graphic designer looking to make the leap to a MacBook Pro with Retina. My question is this... Can you view/design in a mode or setting that is representative of a typical non-retina display? I occasionally work remotely and would not always have the option of a second display to preview graphics.
Can an accurate representation of designing for 1x be achieved with only the MacBook Pro with Retina (pixel perfect at 1x)? My impulse would be that it would all be a matter of how the file was set up but I have yet to find any definitive answer.
I often work from existing screenshots in Photoshop. Many times I will use an existing screenshot as a background layer and build new art on top for a quick mock up. Will this be possible?
Just bought a new Retina Macbook pro and trying to install CS3... the program from my old Macbook would not work when moved to the new one. I have the original disc but this will not work on new Macbooks without a drive.
View 4 Replies View RelatedEverytime I use Photoshop CS4 (11.0.2) on my MacBook Pro with Retina display (OS X 10.8.2, 2.6GHz Intel Core i7), the software randomly keeps on crashing without warning. There is no specific thing that I do that makes it crash. I just edit an image like I usually do on Photoshop such as moving objects, creating new layers, and clicking on different sets of tools and the program crashes.
I haven't done much work on it recently but I sometimes also had trouble saving Photoshop files. I don't remember exactly but whenever I save, a error message pops up and tells me that I cannot save the file; saving with a different file name works but I have to constantly make "file1.psd, file2.psd, file3.psd" to aviod the error message.
I haven't tried out my other CS4 Web Preimium softwares on my new MacBook yet and don't have the install disk for it right now since I forgot to bring it with me to study abroad so I can't try reinstalling it.
I have a trial version of C6. When sending a file from Lightroom 4.3 beta into CS6 when I have to clone in some wood panels in a background, I'm crashing. I'm using latest Mac Mountain Lion on a MBP Retina screen. I've uploaded the patch for CS6 and applied it.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am thinking of buying a Macbook Pro with Retina Display.
I am wondering if Photoshop Elements 11 will work OK with this as I have heard there is a problem. how to make them compatible. I really don't need anything more complicated than elements for what I do so don't want to spend out on one of the CS programmes.
i got a lightroom 4 cd but my macbook retina doesnt have a disc drive, how can i install it?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi can't find a way to change opacity by taping numbers on my Macbook Pro Retina (French version AZERTY).I think the problem comes from the fact that i don't have a numeric keypad. For instance, on the brush tool, if i enter 1 (by pressing shift+&), i change the flow to 10% and so on, but i didn't find a shortcut to change the opacity. On the move tool, if i enter 1 (by pressing shift+&), the opacity of the active layer don't change.
View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a trick to getting the new Color Range selection function to work on a retina Mac Book Pro? I am quite familiar with the color range selection in the previous version of Photoshop, and used it regularly. I've decided to try as simply as possible by using a flat image (no layers), and trying to select colors. I've increased the contrast in the image to make dark and lights much easier to pull out.
I've explored setting the sample size to point-sample up to 3x3, and 5x5. I've also set the resolution of my display to 2880 x 1800 (to reduce the possibility of anti-aliasing problems). It will not make any selection though, using the eye-dropper sample. Using other options will work, such as Highlights, Shadows, Skin Tones, etc., but it won't do anything with Sampled Colors.
my CS3 design premium looks pixelated on my Macbook retina display. Can this be fixed?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI heard that the After Effects UI isnt compatible with the Retina display of the 15 inch Retina Macbook Pro. Is there a way to change the resolution to enable the UI to appear sharp? Are there any plug-ins or workarounds to alleviate the non-compatibilty? I'm asking this question because After Effects is the main application I want to be using.

How can i work with 3ds max 2014 on macbook pro retina using full resolution?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI installed a clean, fresh version on my Mac. (No previous versions were ever installed). When I open Photoshop for the first time, everything runs fine: I can open files and edit as usual. As soon as I close it and re-open many things happen:
a) I can go to open a file, but with Window>Application Frame unchecked, I cannot see the open file.
b) All other palletes go awry. I cannot change the open palletes and or edit anything.
c) If I check Window>Application Frame, everything is back to normal. No problems here.
I've got a problem with every application I downloaded from the creative cloud. The Program windows are pixelated. I can see that for example on the "Open... - window" or just at the general layout.
I don't have this Problem with my copy of Lightroom (which I bought on a CD). Is there maybe a Problem with the retina display?
I'm new to animation, but have recently taught myself Edge Animate.
How can I make sure everything works with devices that have Retina Displays?Do I set up two animations or is there some code I need to add to show the retina image when the device warrants? Should the retina images be 144ppi and the others be 72ppi?
I've seen a number of ways to dynamically load the retina version of an image (with @2x appended to the filename), but none of them seem to work with Edge animations. I'm guessing this is because these solutions work within CSS and not within embedded javascript. Any method to dynamically load retina images based on the device?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI like the openness and ability to click my desktop behind the image I'm working on. I know how to turn it off, but how do I KEEP it off? Every time I close and reopen photoshop it's back on, and I saved my workspace to see if that would result in any changes but it didn't. Didn't ever run into this issue on CS6.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have CS installed on my laptop. running WinXPPro, and unfortunately a few weeks ago CS started to behave badly. The program appears to load fine but 1 or 2 seconds after finally loading the program disappears from both the Application list and the window. The Task manager continues to show the Photoshop.exe process but its doing nothing. I have deleted preferences, I have re-installed, I have removed FlashPlayer (a CS3 problem sounded similar) all to no avail. Oddly enough ImageReady CS performs fine - it just doesn't give me the features I need access to do my work.
View 3 Replies View RelatedThe Application Frame window opens up too tall on both my monitors. I cannot resize it nor access any of the tools at the bottom. Is there any other way to resize it except by grabbing it with the cursor and dragging the edge, since obviously I cannot do that when it sits offscreen?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to react to the AutoCAD application window being resized, that reaction is to move a form so that it stays in the bottom right hand corner of the AutoCAD application window. View 1 Replies View Relatedit is possible to change the background color of the application window ?
I would like the whole area outside the drawing window (the drawing page) to be grey, so that it can be clearly distiinguished from the actual drawing page, which is white, with a shadow line around the drawing page.
My AutoCAD 2012 installation has been doing this for a while, but I don't remember it always doing this:
After I close a drawing (if it is the last drawing open), by using either the "close" command or by clicking the "x" on the window, instead of going to the generic gray-stripe background it just shows what the drawing looked like before close. This keeps messing with my head, as I think AutoCAD has just stopped responding.
If you look closely, though, you can see that the "AutoCAD" and "Autodesk" labels appear on the drawing, but I don't immediately notice this because my drawings are more complex than the sample drawing I've attached.
See images below.
However, when I manually resize the application window (either by restoring or maximizing, or by draging the window edge, the application window refreshes to show the proper generic gray-stripe background.
System specifications: AutoCAD 2014 64-bit SP1, Windows 7 64-bit SP1, Intel Core i7-2600K, AMD FirePro V4900
16GB RAM, Crucial M4 SSD, 3 Dell Monitors (2 30" 2560x1600 & 1 20" 1200x1600)
Just recently, I started having issue with Photoshop when opening a file outside the application (i.e., not doing it by using the File>Open command in Photoshop).
I click the file to open it in Photoshop and the application window shrinks almost entirely. It shrinks to about a 1-inchx1-inch square in the upper-left corner of my screen. I expand the window, and the image file that I had opened is also about 1x1, making the image about a millimeter in size. Of course, I increase the image to its actual size.
My question is: why is my Photoshop application doing this? It's a recent glitch; it hasn't always done this. I have not done any significant changes to the computer other than regular Windows updates.
How do I re-install a corrupted Photoshop CC app when the Desk Top CC shows the app as "up to date"?
