PS CS3 had a slew of actions--including many textures and frames. I just installed CS4 and the actions are pretty sparse. I am kind of a novice and would appreciate any advice offered. How do bring in the actions I had in CS3 to version 4?
View 5 RepliesWhen using the pen tool in PS 6, you just make those dots wich later on can adjust and then turn into a selection. When you do that in PS 7, the selection gets filled with blue and (why ?) becomes...eh, not the same as in PS 6. What am I missing ? I get that it makes some kind of vectormask of it, but I just wan' it to become an ordinary selection.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have the upgrade in the correct location, but now ACR has been disabled in both PS and Bridge. However, in PS, when I look under Help>Plugins, I see it listed there. I have PS CS4 running on Windows XP. I downloaded it several times and removed the older download,(I have only one Camera Raw plug-in in the folder.)
View 1 Replies View RelatedI installed CS4, and then successfully uninstalled CS3 (both versions as full Creative Suites). I realized, though, that I hadn't saved the actions I had created in PS CS3, so I reinstalled PS CS3 (and found the PS CS3 Actions Palette.psp file, which had my custom actions, from a backup I had made). I exported the custom actions to .atn files, and then imported them into CS4. So far, so good. But..
 Now I can't uninstall CS3! It doesn't show up in my "Add or Remove Programs" dialog (either as the full Creative Suite, or as the individual component programs). I suppose I might be able to solve this by completely uninstalling CS4, which would leave only PS CS3 (and a few other of the CS3 programs, which were also reinstalled) -- and then maybe it would show up in Add or Remove Programs.
 (And then I could -- I hope -- uninstall CS3, and reinstall CS4.) But if someone has a simpler solution, I'd greatly appreciate hearing it! To summarize the key actions, here's what I did:- Already had Creative Suite CS3 installed- Installed Creative Suite CS4- Uninstalled Creative Suite CS3- Reinstalled PS CS3 and a couple other CS3 programs- Exported some files I needed from CS3, and imported them into CS4- Now I can't uninstall CS3.
In CS4, the Extract filter was removed, but was available as a plug-in. I've now upgraded to CS6. There is still a plug-in for this tool! If there is, where can I find it?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy E10 organizer has all of the thumb nails. However, All photos taken in a vertical format, have yellow question marks. All but a very small number of Photos taken in the horzontal format do not have a ? mark. I cannot reconnect to any of img files.
All of my photo image/files are on a external drive E: Nothing on (photowise) on C: . All of my attempts to reconnect have failed?

i upgraded to LR 5.3 this morning, using the Store Presets with this catalog option, as well as the Upgrade wizard. When LR5.3 opened at the end of the process, all of my Import, Export, or Develop presets were gone. all of those folders are empty (for example C:UsersmePicturesLightroomLightroom SettingsDevelop PresetsUser Presets shows "This folder is empty"), and when i open LR 4.4 (the previous install), the presets are gone as well.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI see the ram preview on the external monitor through a BM Intensity Pro card, but in the computer monitor, it sticks on the first frame, and kind of jitters, with the bounding bow flickering. In fact, I get no real time playback at all any more. Everything worked fine in CS6.

I have today UPGRADED TODAY from X4 to X5, and applied the latest patches. Before UPGRADING I went into X4 and EXPORTED my Libraries, assuming that I would be able to IMPORT them back into X5.
Having loaded X5, I try to IMPORT the LIBRARIES that I had exported from X4, and VS X5 says "cannot recognise files" or something similar, meaning I look like having to manually reload all my Library materials which will take me probably DAYS !!!
Have I missed something - there ARE a load of what look like correct files in the folder that I used to EXPORT to from X4 - but when I point X5 at this folder it doesn't want to know ???
SURELY it must be possible to bring forward your Work In Progress foundation Libraries (Titles, Music, Intros etc) to new releases.
For the Upgrade I used the BOXED set discs from Corel - not a download process.
Just upgraded from X3 to X4 & have found that X4 won't start -- I get an immediate Windows error: "Corel VideoPro has stopped working." I tried running as administrator with the same result.
Installation seemed to go fine & reboot went fine . . . the program just won't start (although X3 continues to run as normal).
Let's see . . . Vista Ultimate 32-bit, 4 GB RAM, 2.67 GHz Intel Core2 Quad Q6700, 8-10 TB hard drive space, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card.
I recently upgraded from LR2 to LR3. I was not prompted to convert my catalogues even though I have read I should have been. Now what? I have two programs on my computer. I want all catalogues in the new LR3 program.

Once upgraded, I was able to reload all the Revit links and see these links in views, as I should. Later the same day, when opening a new local file, I am unable to open a view after loading a link without Revit freezing. Not crashing, but freezing... the application says "Not Responding", the memory allocation is unchanged in the Window's processes, and the journal file is no longer being written to. I thought maybe this is just taking a long time to process, but 1) it didn't take this long to open the view with the loaded link when it was first successful, and 2) I've left it for hours without change.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI click on the brush and zero out all the sliders except for exposure, for example. I adjust settings for brush and start brushing on targeted area. Nothing happens and mask overlay does not show red on brushed area. Am using Mac 10.6.8. I also have multiple upgrade catalogs - Lightroom 3 Catalog-2, and -3, and -4. I would prefer to have just one.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have installed the trial version of Lightroom 4 but after upgrading my Lightroom 3 catalogue I am not able to access the new adjustment brushes such as noise etc. on any image from the upgraded catalogue - If I import a new image then all of the new functions are available. Is there something else I need to do to allow me to use the tools on the existing catalogue? I have tried deleting the “Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat” importing the catalogue from within LR 4but I get the same result.

View 3 Replies View RelatedRecently upgraded to X3 despite reservations on the 'Burn' capabilities (see many threads in this forum). Having completed a project I now want to burn a DVD. The options available in X3 do not excite me - it seems that there is a forced exit from X2 into either DVD Factory Pro or DVD MovieFactory 7 SE. Played with these but then breached my low boredom threshold (is it worth persevering with either of them? Both look a bit Mickey-Mouse)
Decided to fire-up my trusty copy of X2 and do the burn in that.
On the first screen I noticed that the 'Next' button is partially obscured by the 'Setting and Options' button. But enough is visible to proceed to next screen. But problem arises on next screen where 'Next' button has now become 'Back' button and 'Next' button is no longer visible. Therefore I can only go backwards but not forwards (a metaphor for life?)
Have tried an uninstall and reinstall of X2 but problem remains exactly the same. Did not have this problem before I installed X3 (on same computer).
Questions:
1. Is there a keyboard shortcut that will take me to the next screen when in Burn mode?
2. Is it worth persevering with either of the burn options in X3 or are both inferior to the X2 burn?
Updated to LR 4.2, then when switching to 'edit in' Photoshop CS5 getting "This version of Lightroom may require photoshop camera raw plug-in version 7.2". However, checking for updates in Photoshop CS5 says all up to date as does LR. In the dialog I would say 'Open Anyway' and at some point I must have clicked the button to no longer show this message.
Now when I 'edit in' PS and come back to LR there is no entry in History, it's blank. In the past I would see one entry 'edited in PS' and then make further LR edits from there if needed. What happens now if I make an edit in LR I can't 'Reset' back to the original 'edited in PS' to start over because that doesn't exist in History. If I reset it will reset just above the last LR edit. This is awaful and has screwed up my workflow. It's damaged several PS -> LR edited images.
After LR 4.2 upgrade LR still showed an older version of RAW. Somewhere after I unchecked that box to stop the message, now when I look it says Camera Raw 7.2 even though I didn't do any further updates, and both LR and CS5 had reported they were up to date.
EDIT/UPDATE: I just found 'Reset all dialog boxes' in LR preferences and now I get the message again. It appears before I checked the box 'Don't show again' the last time I also clicked 'Render using Lightroom' rather than 'Open Anyway' which I was doing before that.
Now PS CS5 About -> Plug-in - Camera Raw is 6.7.0.339 and Lightroom 4.2 is Camera Raw 7.2 (?)

I use live trace quite a bit and have created several custom tracing options in CS4. How di I get them into CS6. When I open a scaned document in CS6, The custom field in the trace menu is greyed out so I don't know how I could recreate them from scratch.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot save my previous files created on a student version to an upgraded 2014 version. I tried changing the save as path in the options menu, but no luck. I am able to open the file in the upgraded version but it states that it will open as a student version. Also I cannot copy and paste anything from the student version to the upgraded one. Not sure why.
