Photoshop :: Uninstalling CS6 Because Computer Can't Handle The Program?
Jul 3, 2013
I have both Photoshop CS6 and CS5. I need to uninstall CS6 because my computer can't handle the program (CS5 always worked fine). When I go to my control panel it only shows CS6. If I uninstall this version is anything going to happen to CS5 or will it remain as normal?
CS6 not only shuts down itself, it shuts down my computer. I have a high-end graphics card (which I specifically got to run my photo-editing monitor), i7 processor, Win8, 64-bit, high resolution. It always happens, without fail, when I choose a large size brush or whatever tool in cloning, spot-healing, dodging, burning, etc). Otherwise, it runs fine. But if I choose a large brush, etc, it only shows me a half circle instead of the full circle, freezes PS, shuts down my computer, and then the computer re-starts.
I used this same PS program on my previous Win7 64-bit computer, which had far less capability, processor, graphics, and other credentials than this current one. It has nothing to do with having other apps running because it happens regardless. It has nothing to do with Bridge because I don't use Bridge. It happens every time as described above. When the computer boots itself back up, there's an option for me to send the notice of the error to Microsoft, which I've done about 50 times. Could it have something to do with Win8? Hope not, because I checked before I (regrettably) got a computer with Win8 to make sure Photoshop was compatible with Win8.
I'm having problems opening photoshop CS3 after a clean install. I have deactivated my CS3 product on my old computer, that run on windows XP. With my DVD installed on my new computer that runs on windows 7. After the installation, I tried to open photoshop to activate. When the program stats to open and freezes almost instantly. I have to open the task manager to close the program that appears not responding. Â My new computer is a Workstation, S5000XVN Intel motherboard, 24 Gb of Ram, NVidea Quadro 2000.
I don't have my OLD computer (I returned it to the manufacturer HP because of defects, after deleting the entire memory. So I can't deactivate the program installation on that OLD computer and the program won't allow me to install it on the NEW computer (it's written that I have reached the limits of 2 installations. I had only installed it on my OlD computer (twice, because of computer defect and resetting).
my Photoshop elements 5.0 program is corrupted and caused my computer to shut down. now when I go to my photoshop elements program 5.0, it freezes up and does not allow me to use it. I would like to un-install this program and re-install it but want to be sure I don't lose my picture files. Will I lose my pic files if I do this?
I edited a wedding video that is over 90 minutes long (it was a wedding in Ireland). It was filmed in AVCHD on a pro video camera.
I wanted to produce a standard DVD and a Blu Ray copy to send over. The DVD copy rendered fine but the Blu Ray as well as the AVCHD file crashed every time and even crashed the computer to re-start. It crashed at around 30% in and I tried a number of different combinations to accomplish this render.
What I then did after a few attempts was to look at the last frame of the couple of files it did render to see where on the time line it was crashing.
It turned out it was on a transition I customised, I think using proDAD VitaScene. It was a transition that created a twinkling star effect from one scene to the next. As soon as I removed this one transition and it rendered a Blu Ray file with no problems at all.
One question though, I am not sure why there are so many choices of Blu Ray and AVCHD in the menu. What is the difference and which one would be the generally used one.
I downloaded the trial for Adobe Photoshop CS3 and it has now expired. I tried to uninstall it but it does nothing. It will not come off my computer. If I try to open it, it tells me
The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support. I tried redownloading and reinstalling it but it still does the same thing and customer support after waiting on hold for 10 minutes for someone to answer, just sent me here.
Also now that this is there, I can't run my CS2. It tells me my settings have changed and I need to reactivate but it won't let me reactivate apparently I guess it's been activated too many times (the first computer I had it on crashed and so I had to reinstall it on this computer I am using now) So now because of whatever is wrong with this CS3 I can never again use my CS2. I don't want to repurchase it, what do I do?
Why do you have to install both 32 & 64 bit versions of programs? In InDesign & Illustrator, you can uninstall the 32 bit versions using the Windows uninstaller but it won't let you do this in Photoshop; would be good if you were given the choice when installing to save your download quota and drive space.
I've got a bunch of fonts that came on the machine, that I don't want on the machine...I never knew what 'system fonts' were required and obviously I'll need to keep these in the system but I want the rest out. I have my own adobe font library ( open type ) that I pick and choose from using 'font fitting room.
I kept CS3 on my system even though I've been using CS4 since it was released. Uninstalled CS3 yesterday and since then I cannot call PS4 from Br4/ When I double-click on an image in bridge it brings up the magnifier. The menu option, "File-->Open With" does not show PS CS4 as an option nor does it give me a "Choose File" option. It does list Acrobat, my browsers, and Paint as opening programs. How can I get PS4 to show as an option here? Have searched all the Preferences but see no way to do it. On a related note -- is my memory faulty or didn't a double-click at one time allow one to open a photo in an external editor? Oh yes, I can open PS4 from LR, and I can open Br from PS4 via menu or icon click. Would appreciate some help. JEL P.S.I found I can get to PS4 from Br4 by first opening a photo in Camera Row and then opening it via the Open Image button.
I installed some updates the other day and... I don't know why something has gone wrong and I can't work anymore cause ps keeps crashing anytime... so, how can I uninstall the updates and try to reinstall them?
I have a Photoshop CS2 serial code but I have downloaded Photoshop CS3 by mistake, I have tried to remove CS3 but when I go onto "Add or remove programs" and click "Remove" for Photoshop it just freezes.
I have tried to download Photoshop CS2 but it wont let me due to CS3 being installed.
When I got my Wacom tablet, it came with a copy of Photoshop Elements 3. I installed it and all was good. Then my laptop's motherboard broke (the manufacturer refused to fix it because the laptop was no longer under warranty and there had been a "silent recall" on the motherboards, but that is all trivial matter here), so I was left with a "homeless" hard drive I could use as a backup for all of my files. Photoshop Elements 3 is still installed on that hard drive and, because of this, I cannot install it on my new laptop using the serial number provided on the install disk.
If I reformat my old hard drive, will I be able to install Elements on my new laptop using the same old serial? If not, is there a way at all to uninstall or at least de-register/de-activate Elements on the old hard drive so I can install it on the new laptop?
My problem started when I was trying to install one of the CS4 premiums. When I was going through and selecting everything I wanted to install, Photoshop CS4 Extended would not select. I clicked a little drop down arrow that said that the reason is because it is already installed. This is not my problem...
I thought it was weird because I had never, ever before had any version Photoshop installed on this computer. But I opted to simply install and then uninstall a Photoshop CS4 Extended trial to see if that would help. After downloading a hefty installer file, I attempted to install it. At the end of the installation I received the following error:
Adobe Photoshop CS4 English Language Pack Error: Error 2.
LangPack (English) for DeviceCentral Error: Error 2.
Crap. But I decided to try to uninstall it anyway. At the end of the uninstallation it says that there were some errors uninstalling some of the components. "For more information see below." And then there's nothing below. What.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several times. What the Christ, guys? Am I forever doomed to have an incomplete, non-working Photoshop on my computer? Is there any way I can simply delete all the files and remove it from the registry?
A customer has PS 5.0, 5.5 and 7.0 installed. He needs to free up disk space. Can he safely uninstall the older versions without compromising 7.0 or are there files common to 2 or more installations that will cause 7.0 not to work?
Is there no proper way to uninstall the Bonjour service that is automatically installed with PS CS3? It is of little use to the average Windows user and the service is also messed up by being named "##Id_String2.6844F930_1628_4223_B5CC_5BB94B879762##" rather than "Bonjour Service".
I am upgrading from cs2 to cs4 - what do I uninstall from cs2? Do I uninstall ALL adobe programs and start again? Or do I keep all the little bits like Adobe bridge etc?
I have CS5 installed on a desktop computer that crashed and I can't get it working to deactivate CS5. I am going to purchase a new desktop and would like to install CS5 on the new computer, but it was already installed on two computers (desktop and laptop) so no activations are left. I have the Disk and serial number.
I upraded elements 10 online. I need to uninstall it (as I keep getting message that its incomplete or missing some elements, as shown in screen shots) and then reinstall but since I don't have a disc can I do that? How do I go about this?
I downloaded a trial of CS3 a few years ago and i'm trying to uninstall it. When I try to I get an error message that says "Setup is not properly installed. Please re-install". How can I fix this?
I might have tried removing it manually but the trial version did not install clean - i could never use CS6.I tried to uninstall it over programs and features and it said something along the lines of 'we cant uninstall but would you like to remove this program from the list?' and i clicked yes.  I can't install Photoshop CS6 on my PC (windows 7 x64) There seems to be no solution to my problem, no uninstall program shows CS6 on its list, there is do uninstall in the program folder either. It appears I have scattered pieces of Photoshop all over my Pc and now I can't install it again (ever.)
I downloaded some trial plugins and then removed them and ever since, CS5 is not working well. Sometimes when I open it and go to file open to open an image, everything is grayed out and I have to close down and re-launch. When I open an image and want to look at the file info, everything freezes and I have to use task manager to close down Photoshop.
As well, my bridge is not working correctly. I want to uninstall and then reinstall, but I thought that somewhere that I read there are specific ways to do that or else the program thinks you're trying to load it on another computer..?
I bought Photoshop CS4 about a year and a half ago and it worked on my old Macbook (10.5.8) absolutely fine. I recently upgraded to a Macbook Pro (Lion 10.7.3) and now Photoshop crashes about every ten minutes for no apparent reason. By "crashes" I mean that the spinning wait cursor appears and I am forced to use force quit as Photoshop is no longer responding. Â I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, turned off automatic graphics switching and nothing seems to work.
After uninstalling and reinstalling my printer driver I am no longer able to print a document I used to be able to print on the same printer. Â Now I get "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop Elements, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing." Â I have confirmed the my settings are correct and I am able to print to the printer using other applications.
I cannot share photos from my Elements 8.0 Organizer via email. The program does not recognize that I have an email program loaded. The computer is a new HP desktop with Windows 7 Home Premium Service Pack 1 operating system. My Elements 8 does everything I need except for the photo sharing so I don't really want to purchase a new version.
I started a new computer with LR5, and it runs fine. But, when I imported my pics from a previous computer running LR4, all the pics loaded into the new LR without any tags or processing. How can I get that info without having ot reprocess thousands of pictures?
I have already installed Service Pack 2 for VS x4 pro. I somehow missed Service Pack 1. Can I still install SP1 now, without uninstalling the whole application? I don't know whether it may be necessary to install them chronologically.
