Why is that in Vista Explorer some PSD icons show as thumbnail images (good) and others as the generic PS icon (bad) in CS4 - all within the same folder? I have PS7 installed which up to CS4 allowed all PSD files to be seen as thumbnail images.
I am not trying to open up the whole issue again - I am just curious why some thumbnails work and others don't.
I'm using Photoshop CS6 tonight and I'm getting some weird behavior. The thumbs for Shape Layers in the Layers panel sometimes look right, other times they collapse into a tiny square.
if something is wrong. In the photo above, the "HERO" layer is how I expect a Shape Layer to appear. However, the "TOP BANNER" layer is the SAME THING. But for some reason the thumb has become tiny. I'm scratching my head trying to figure out if this is normal for some reason or what
I'm trying to simplify the creation of several preview thumbs from one image.
For example, my base image is a 400x600px image, and from this image I need to create the following thumbs:
1: 150x100px
2: 100x150px
3: 69x42px
4: ...
I would like an Action that would Crop the base image and save a copy of each of these thumbs. I can't fugure out how to do this since I need to adjust the Marquee selection for each thumb to Crop the part of the base image I want.
So can this be done? So the action is started and it pauses for each Marquee selection (the aspect ratio for the selection should not be entered each time, I need that info hardcoded in the Action) and then I can continue the Action and then adjust the Marquee for thumb #2.. and so on..
Any archiving or library tool that would develop a preview contact sheet - JPG, PDF, etc.. of a folder of say 700-1000 basic DWG drawings of manufacturing assemblies (not complex building layouts or anything).
We've got a ton of old drawings that we need to sift through and I don't want to open each one.
After creating a new catalog in Lightroom 4, the .tif thumbs and keywords won't show in Bridge? .tif files created via the default catalog still show; and from what I can tell, the catalog setting are identical.
When I put my DSLR memory card into my computer the files appear in order in Windows Explorer, but when I double click a photo, Corel Instant Viewer opens but the thumbnails are no longer in order according to their file numbers. Some will be in order, but earlier (lower file numbers) files will be sprinkled throughout seemingly at random. I can't figure out how the viewer decides to arrange them or how I can make it display my files in the order in whidch they were shot. What am I missing?
Can I delete this folder thumbs I found in C:UsersAdminAppDataLocalCorel PaintShop Pro14.0 and the one for X3..there is a lot of rubbish in there..and what about the cache.I thought they cleared when the program closed.
I have created 2 web galleries--one html and one Flash. I saved them to my local drive and they work perfectly. Then I uploaded to our server (I checked to see that all folders/files made it, and they did) and then when I access the index.html file, neither the thumbnails or the full-size images show. Here are the two URLs
No developments on this I suppose? I thought maybe that with Windows 7 MS might have reached an agreement with Adobe but it seems not as psd icons still show the generic logo. Bridge is irritating with W7 as you can't get into "Libraries" - their contents won't show. I keep hoping that one day we'll get back the thumbnails in Explorer.
Recently I installed an update to Corel X6 after I had updated CS6 of Photoshop. Now despite choosing Photoshop as the default application, jpgs open in Acrobat.
Just choosing Photoshop as the default application doesn't change anything. They still open in Acrobat unless I first start Photoshop and open the file I want.
I have CS6 running under W7 64bit. For some reason, when I open up WE from within CS6 to select a file to work on, WE always opens maximised. I think this is new on my system.
Is there any way to get it back to open not-maximised, Same problem occurs when I open WE in CS4 but not in PE11. Googling hasn't produced an answer yet. My display is large and searching across the whole of it is a chore.
I'm not able to drag and drop images of any kind from Vista Business Windows Explorer into Photoshop CS3. Is there a known fix for this? I am already running the application as Administrator.
Is there a way to set Windows Explorer viewing options so that when viewing files in Windows Explorer in the "Thumbnail view", you see the thumbnail of the PSD file rather than the generic/default PSD icon?
At some time in the past when I saved a psd file I would have an icon or thumbnail in explorer. No it doesn't save those thumbs. Actually it saves them but they appear to be corrupt.
I'm running win7 and I have a dll (don't remember which one) that allows for the preview thumb in explorer so I know it's an issue with cs5.
I am attempting to install Photoshop CS3 on a new computer. I keep getting the message that the installation cannot continue until Internet Explorer is closed. I have tried disconnecting the internet, WiFi, Bluetooth. I still get the same message.
I'm using Photoshop CS4 on Windows XP. I've been editing the Title and Description fields in Photoshop (and yes, I've been saving things). When I try to view the metadata in Photoshop at a later point I can see everything just fine. When I try to view the metadata by going in to windows explorer and looking at the properties, those fields just show up as blank.
the time I use the color picker in Photoshop suddenly IE opens the Photoshop help in a separate window. Am I clicking on something? All I seem to be clicking on is the box of color ranges in the color picker. I thought the Photoshop help was supposed to open if you click on the Photoshop eye on the toolbar, which isn't in CS4.
I want to know if it's possible in CS3 to drag an image file from Windows Explorer into an already open file in PS. Right now when I drag over, it opens that file. I want to have it where the image is inserted as a new layer into the existing open file. is that possible?
Everytime I open up a file in Photoshop, it says, 'Linotype Fontexplorer version fc4 or newer cannot be found'. I recently deleted that program, how can I get Photoshop to stop looking for it?
