View 1 RepliesI uninstalled Lightroom, because it was too slow on my computer. It put a lot of library files and directories in My pictures folder.
When I use a backup program (SyncbackSE) to backup my pictures, it starts to scan all the Lightroom library files and it takes forever (hours and counting). Even though Windows cannot find the directories (with hidden and system files shown). I want to completely delete the Lightroom directories, because now I can't backup my images anymore. It is a pain in the dark places.
Before, I could do a Command-E to open in Photoshop, do a Save As (to the Desktop, for instance) and it wouldn't get put into Lightroom. Now when doing a Save As from Photoshop, the edited file gets put back into Lightroom. What am I missing?
Lightroom 4.3, Photoshop 13.03, MacPro 2.8 Ghz, Snow, 18 gb RAM
Curious how long this has been out and when next version is anticipated.
View 2 Replies View RelatedIt took so long to learn Bridge and PS, that I was never going to bother with Aperture or LIghtroom, but well know photographer was praising Lightroom at seminar, look dazzling, so I got it.
But with CS3 incorporating much of it, what the point of having it? Are there indispensible things that Lightroom does for you that CS3 will not? I'd like to hear.
I've been messing with Adobe Lightroom, and its a pretty slick app. One issue I seem to be having though, is my metadata. I have applied metadata (IPTC) to all of my files, and I'm supposed to be able to search on it (they all have my name as the creator)
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Photoshop-CC install is there an seems to work, but my LR5 does not see it, only goes to my old CS6 install.I tried renaming the CS6 folder, but it then just grayed-out the "edit-in" for Photoshop. The CC folder is in the same locations as the CS6 folder.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been a Photoshop user forever. CS6 is very powerful. I have Lightroom 4 and just don't get why people flip over this. Is it just the library, knowing where you put things?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI use Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom 4 mainly as I am a photographer. It involves both programs live and some huge PSD files kicking around. I am thinking of getting the high end new i7 with 16g and an SSD.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI want to move or add Photoshop & Lightroom to a new computer. I read somewhere that the licensing agreement allows installation on two computers if they are not used at the same time, which is my case. Is this true? Tried to access the licensing PDF on the Adobe site, but it seems to be down.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI cannot open raw files from Lightroom in Camera Raw when I choose "edit with photoshop" from the LIghtroom menu. They simply open in photoshop itself and not Camera Raw. I am using Photoshop CS6 (latest upgrade) and LIghtroom 4 (Latest upgrade) on a Mac.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have Martin Evening's latest Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6 books, but no mention of which methods are better, or better for which subjects/ conditions. It seems that Camera Raw and Lightroom are the same, so I'm tempted to just do it all in Lightroom with the Develop module Detail panel, and the adjustment brush for local sharpening. But can I be doing more with Photoshop CS6, or Lightroom and Photoshop together?

Everything works fine with Auto Import except when an image arrives in LR so does the Import Dialog Window and I have to click it away with every shot. I am in the Library Loup View in the Fit mode. This happens weather the Import preferences has "Show import dialog when a memory card is detected" checked or not.I have Win XP 64bit.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm purchasing a new camera that's only supported with raw5 and I'd prefer to stay with cs3. I also have lightroom 1.3.
my choices are to go to cs4 (rather not) or use dng converter and use cs3 or go to lightroom 2.
My question is that since lightroom 2 uses raw 5x and cs3 4x, will I cause a mess in my computer? I did install the trial cs4 and found that it altered cs3 on me. I was told this wouldn't happen but there are some common files (the raw being one of them) and I actually had to wipe my system and reinstall everything.
I was using a trial version of lightroom on windows xp sp 2 and now after 2 weeks it is not exporting images any more. I was willing to purchase a full retail version but does the full retail version has the same bug?
View 4 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if it is possible to run Photoshop or Lightroom on an ultraportable PC
(ie one using an Intel Atom Processor)?
I have recently purchased Lightroom v2, but not yet installed it. Before doing so I wanted to check that my PC is capable of running it. 'Minimum' requirement is for a Pentium 4 procesor, which I do not have, though I meet all other requirements. Does any one foresee problem with running Lightroom with this processor. Intel core 2 Duo CPU T5600 @1.83GHz or would I be wasting my time.
My OS is Vista for business.
1)When I view the same raw file with both Lightroom 2 & Photoshop CS3 the PS version is darker with a slight colour shift. All metadata synchronised & ACR 4.5
2) When I export a photo (from LR)as TIFF (with profile) this same photo viewed on both PS and LR shows the same difference as 1 above. When same photo viewed with ADC pro, result matches LR not PS.
3) When I print photo (as TIFF above) with PS & LR the prints from both match the LR display and not PS's
I use a calibrated display.
What is the problem here anyone? Does PS use display profile differently from LR? which is correct?
I've begun using LR4 for website photo editing, but I'm finding that I still need to move the LR modified images into PS for cropping, final size, and resolution adjustments. When I chose Photo>Edit in>Edit in Adobe Photoshop CS5, I've been selecting, "Edit a Copy with Lightroom Adjustments", which works fine.
However, when I cut and paste the resized LR image into another PS document, usually a master template, ALL of my LR adjustments dissapear and the photo is restored to its original settings. How can I keep all of the LR adjustments during a cut and paste operation within PS?
I have Lightroom 4.2 and Photoshop CS6. If I'm viewing a photo in LR and select edit in CS6, the photo doesn't open in camera raw, even though I have CR selected in photoshop preferences as my preference. Is this normal?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI reinstalled Lightroom 5 after it was removed. However, it does not connect to Photoshop cc. What should I do?
View 3 Replies View Relatedwhen I edit and save a file in Photoshop CS6 from Lightroom. After I save and return to LR4.2 in Windows Explorer it puts the TIFF in the same directory next to the original RAW file as it should, however in the Library module it gets a different entry. So I end up with the same directory listing with the photocount 1 next to it. It also doesn't show up in the main directory where all the other files are, it's not next to the originel RAW.
I can do "show parent folder" until the point I get to the root directory which then gives me an error message which says.
When using the ctr E keyboard shortcut to edit in PS6 from LR4, multiple raw files are generated in PS CS6 and only stop creating when PS is forced closed. Using the Drop Down menu in LR makes the transfer to PS6 no problem.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm running a Mac and since upgrading to lightroopm 4.4 I can't right click and edit in photoshop. The option is there and it starts photoshop but thats it, there is no photo imported into photoshop. I can right click and edit in a Nik software module with no problem. I'm using the creative cloud so I cant really reinstall from a disc.
View 2 Replies View Relatedhow to get these two to work together? The support specifically mentions CS3 working with it and even mentions that CS3 will use ACR 4.6. When I tell LR4 to open a RAW file produced by my Canon XSi in Photoshop, I get a message that "this version of LR may require camera raw 7.0 for full compatibility". Then I can choose "render using lightroom", "open anyway", or "cancel". If I choose "open anyway" it opens up Photoshop but nothing else happens.
Eventually after a few minutes LR4 starts telling me it couldn't open Photoshop (even though it "magically" opened it a few minutes earlier) and when I click off that error, it comes up again, then a new error saying it couldn't send the file to Photoshop. After clicking away that message it then proceeds to make a copy of the file as a .psd (which I did set up in the LR4 preferences for external editor) and it opens up.
In the Library module or Develop module, select the photo you want to edit. Then, choose Photo > Edit In Adobe Photoshop. If you’re opening a camera raw or DNG file in Photoshop CS3 (10.0.1) or later, it opens directly.
I recently purchased/installed LR3 and Photoshop CS5. I do some editing in LR3, and then when I try to send the file to Photoshop, I can't. I'm using Windows, so I go to Photo - Edit in - and then Photoshop is greyed out. I've checked my preferences a million times, and it's set up correctly to open the files as PSD in Photoshop (I did it exactly as Scott Kelby's book tells me to), and it still doesn't work.
View 6 Replies View Relatedi'm having problems with my LR4.I have LR4 and Photshop CS5.1.
When I try to directly edit a picture from LR to Photshop, I go to Photo> Edit In> and try to select "Edit in Photoshop" but the action is grayed out.
Plus, I made the same Photoshop my "Additional External Editor" but when I try to select it to go edit it gives me the "Unexpected error porforming command: bad argument #1 'lower' [string expected, got nil]).
I have LR3 and CS5 using the Prophoto color profile on a Windows 7 system. I always shoot RAW (NEF) and usually use both LR3 & CS5 to process an image. The issue I have is after processing the image in LR3, I then use, Photo/Edit in Photoshop, for the image to open in CS5, carry out a couple of further processes (crop & clone tool) and then 'save' (not 'save as'). When I view the 'Edit' image back in LR3 the initial settings have changed considerably. The image is also slightly darker. I have also experimented in carrying out no processes whatsoever in CS5 by going direct to 'save' but the same issues prevail. An example of the difference in settings is:
LR3 settings; Tint +10, Exposure -0.24, Recovery 46 Fill L 3, Blacks 7.
The edit version shows; Tint +1, Exposure -0.41, Recovery 23, Fill L 0, Blacks 5.why the settings in the returning edit version are not the same as those shown in the initial processed RAW version which is also leading to a darker image?
