View 3 RepliesOpening files in photoshop works fine, but when I save Lightroom loses the file. I have two hard drives in my laptop, a SSD with all my apps (Lightroom and photoshop) and a larger hard drive with all my catalogues and files. Lightroom thinks the edited file in photoshop is saved on the SSD instead of the storage hard drive. It gets the adress correct for the photo but it thinks the storage hard drive is a folder on the app drive.
Im running mac 10.6.8, Lightroom 4.4 and Photoshop CS6 13.0.0.
I'm messing around with tables and data links, practicing. I copied a range of cells in Excel, and did paste special to create a linked table.
Now I can delete the table object, but I cannot delete the link, cannot detach it.
When in Data Manager if I right click on the data link and click delete I get the error message "The data link is being used and cannot be deleted".
I have tried detaching, and the detach does not seem to take.
Now also, the table will not update from the source xls.
Win XP, AcadLT 2011, Office 2010. Using compatible setting for saving spreadsheet, for Office 2007 (not xlsx).
If I create a linked table by starting with the Table icon, choose "from a data link", choose the excel spreadsheet, etc., then I am able to later update the table from the spreadsheet, detach, delete the link, etc. But I can only delete the link if the table is not selected when I open the Data Link Manager.
But the one that was created following the directions from the Autocad video, with the copy, paste special, that link will not detach nor delete.
When I go to send a pic to Photoshop to edit, it is looking at CS4, not CS6. How can I change this? I had a blue screen and had to rebuild everything and now it is wrong.

It has obviously lost the link with my catalog and is now asking to upgrade to catalog to work with LR4. I am concerned that if I go with this option I will lose all the the changes I have made to my images.
I have 55000 photos in the catalog so this would be pretty bad. I have been importing all of my files as DNG for quite a few years now and I am sure I had it set in preferences to embed changes into the DNG Files.
After installing LR4.1 RC2 i have lost the link to PS6 when working with CR2 files... when i right click "edit in" PS6 opens but no document is created... when i do teh same with a DNG file all works fine... perhaps it is an issue with Camera Raw compatibility?
Both CR2 and DNG work fine with PS5.5...Obviously this is not a major issue but it is behavior that needs to be fixed...
I cannot get the correct code from Facebook to link to LR4. The publish manager displays the plug is installed and running, but then when I try to publish, I get a message from Internet Explorer and Firefox it does not know what to do with each particular protocol.

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt would be nice if the Web Gallery in Lightroom and Bridge would allow an easy way to add a home page link to allow users & clients not only to see the Gallery but get an entry point into your main web site. Manual and a tad time consuming, but adding a small amount of XML/HTML it can be done.
When you create a Flash Web Gallery it created a number of XML files in the Resource Directory. Navigate to this directory and open the file called group.xml
Here is where you need at add a snippet of code and here is the example - not elegant but I am not a programmer. Look for a section called custom it will look like <custom> and under the <siteTitle> add the code highlighted in red. The http reference should be red but the formatting of this page will not allow
<custom>
<siteTitle>Sunol Wilderness</siteTitle>
<groupTitle>
<a href=" To Main Page</a>
</groupTitle>
<groupTitle> Here is the Group Title You Created....
Edit Arrgh the formatting of this page stripped out the link after the first ". so you will need to add your full URL including http and www of your home page..Now save the file and then upload the package as you normally would and at the top of the page of your Flash Gallery will be the link you inserted.
As I said not very elegant but it does work.they will add an input box to the Web Gallery Creator.
A Google search result just now showed me only 2 years of questions posed, with no Adobe Support Answers.

Video was viewed in 2013 in LR 4, but after install of CC and LR 5, playback is not functioning.Tried restarting LR 5, the HDD dedicated catalog and exporting a test file. The above error message occurred while trying to reimport the test video (.avi) file.
While in grid view, when curser moves over the thumbnail, image seems to fast forward. After clicking twice on the thumbnail, there is no image in Loupe view. There is kind of a weird black, white and gray graphic.One attempt to start playback resulted in this error message in white text on a black banner, " There was an error working with the video."
When a video file is present in the library, camera card, or anywhere lightroom freezing and the dynamic link manager crashes. This also then causes lightroom to crash immediately. How do I fix a corrupted dynamic link manger?
View 5 Replies View RelatedJust tried to import file sinto a brand new LR Catalog when I got this message...here's the entire error message: "An unknown error has occurred while reading the video file. Connecting to Dynamic Link server failed. (98)" Connecting to Dynamic Link Server Failed
this was then followed by a list of files of these types:
.mov
.m4v
.3gp
I recently began using lightroom and stored the files on the local drive of my macbook pro (current os) until I ran out of space. Exported the catalogue to an external HD, then deleted the files from the local drive. As I tried to import the .lrcat file associated with the export to the external HD and received this error:
"Can not import from this catalog at this time. The catalog is either in use by another copy of Lightroom or was closed improperly. If it was closed improperly, please consider doing an integrity check when opening."
I am not running LR on any other computers so I figure Lightroom was "closed improperly".
My computer crashed and I am re-installing all software. My order history does not show up in Adobe.com, but my serial number shows up under "My Products." How can I get a link to re-download Photoshop CS6?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought Photoshop CS5.1 for my iMac. I now need it on my Macbook too as I am traveling for work. I'm pretty sure I can use my existing licence on 2 devices, seeing as I will only use one at a time. My serial key is for cs5.1 but the only Photoshop download link I can find is for CS6. Will my serial key work in cs6? I actually only want cs5.1 but I cannot find a link to download it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter I installed the latest version of ACR (4.4), I found that I could not access ACR directly from Bridge any more. The "Open in Camera Raw" was "grayed out". I removed V4.4 and reinstalled 4.3.1. Still could not access ACR directly. ACR opened in CS3 fine.
Some other strange thing happened in Bridge after installing V4.4, but they were corrected after I re-ran the start up disk and had it "re-install CS3".

View 2 Replies View RelatedLayers used have individual chain link options. (CS1)
The way it is handled now, is awkward and time consuming.
If you want to link layers that are not next to each other, you shift-select all the unwanted ones in between as well. Than you need to de-link those in a second go. (By moving down to buttom for each single layer you need to deselect)
Is this supposed to be a smart improvement?
Is there an on/off option to have individual chain link with every layer, that I have missed?

I had downloaded Photoshop CS6 from the official Adobe site here URL....product=photoshop), and wanted to only test it out. uninstalled all my Microsoft Visual C++ products, not knowing that these were important for Photoshop. Anyways, Photoshop was having all errors etc. and I had to uninstall it (the 30 days weren't over yet, by the way). Now I have downloaded the Microsoft C++ products again, and I wanted to download Photoshop CS6 Extended again - it all was installed it perfectly, but when I opened the program, it was just Photoshop CS6 and not Photoshop CS6 Extended (and I want it because of the 3D options etc.) - and I was using the same download link from above. So, why has it downloaded the "wrong" product now?
