Lightroom :: Looking At Wrong CS Link To Edit?
Dec 19, 2012When I go to send a pic to Photoshop to edit, it is looking at CS4, not CS6. How can I change this? I had a blue screen and had to rebuild everything and now it is wrong.

View 1 RepliesI have an issue between XP 32 bit ACAD 2011 workstations and Windows 7 64 bit ACAD 2011 workstations...
1 - A Windows 7 user does a Paste Special>Paste Link>Microsoft Excel to insertembed a portion of an Excel worksheet into the DWG.
2 - various win7 and XP users make changes to the Excel worksheet directly in Excel
3 - Win7 users open the DWG to see the correct and updated Excel data in the DWG
4 - XP users open the same DWG to see OLD data from a previous save and not the correct updated data on the linked worksheet
5 - XP users directly open the Excel file in Excel and are able to view the correct updated data BUT NOT IN THE DWG
6 - XP users see old incorrect excel worksheet data in the DWG. Win7 users see the correct data in the DWG.
Indesign promted me to update the path to PS while opening a PS file from within ID. I clicked okay, having never seen this, and having had no problem opening PS files files from ID before.
BUT then it started opening PS from my back up clone, and not my boot disk! How do I change it back?
I tried selecting 'other' from the list under 'edt with' and navigating to the correct version off my boot disk, but it was grey and not available!
I unmounted the back up clone and it worked fine, but when I remounted I got the same problem.
When I tag a Revit Link with a multi category tag I can't edit it. I need to give it a number so it can appear in my schedule. I have checked the "include elements in linked files"
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two parts, one uses some parameters from another one by link.
Now I have copied both and need to update ties between copies since a copy still has a link to original part.
Seems like there is no possible to just change or edit a link from one part to another in Parameters window.
Instead to update a new link I should clean all borrowed parameters in all sketches, delete the folder, make new link and set all parameters back. is it possible to change or edit the link in some easy way?
I'm using the ribbon in 2012. I've got a drawing index sheet I want to update, and what I need to do to get to the Edit Data Link command is switch to the Classic interface and select the table in order to display the Table toolbar with Edit Data Link button.
I cannot find this anywhere on the ribbon, and the same button icon as Edit Data Link on the Table toolbar runs Data Link Manager from the Annotate tab, Tables panel on the ribbon, which is not what I want.
Where is this on the ribbon? And how come identical tool buttons run different commands in different workspaces?
I'm running on LR 5.3, but this problem persisted in LR 5.2. Working in PS CS6 and Camera Raw 8.3. RAWs are NEFs from a Nikon D600.
I can't figure out what happened but suddenly I am not getting prompts when moving from LR to PS to "Edit Original" or "Edit a Copy".
I reset all dialog warnings and nothing. The prompt will appear for TIFFs but not for NEFs.
It's kind of pointless to not be able to choose to edit an original or copy with LR adjustments for a RAW when they are the file types that retain my RAW editing information.
Plus, when I do click on a NEF and choose to edit in PS without the prompt (it will appear with lightroom adjustments, not as original), it will open a second icon for photoshop on my dock, and prompt me to continue trial? I have a version of PS installed with the serial plugged in, and in LR "edit in PS" for a TIFF will open this primary version.
Is there a way to edit the text in a symbol instance without breaking the link to the symbol?
a really simplen example would be several instances of the same button graphic but with different labels.
I know these things are possible in Fireworks, but couldn't find a way to make it happen in Illustrator.
LR 5.3 selected PS 4 as my external editor. How do I tell it to use PS 5? I use Windows 7.

I imported photos and forgot to update the last destination to the new one I created for the new photos. So, they got imported into the last folder I imported the previous set to. I want to move them to the proper folder, but I am afraid to use the "move" option because it says it will move the photos and then delete the previous folder. The folder has the previous set of pictures that I saved there and I don't want to lose them. How do I move a selective set of my photos from the folder to the new on I want them to reside in without losing the set that were in that folder previously and were saved properly?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just installed Lr3 (was using 2.7) and CS5 (was using CS3). From Lr I took an image to retouch in CS5 and when it came back to Lr it looked terrible - the exposure had changed at least a stop and I did not do that in PS. I loved how I had Lr2 set up and I have lost it all. In Lr2 the edited image would automaticaalycome back with a T (for tweaked) added to the name and look like it did when it left PS.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI seem to have a big (and very weird) problem with dates in Lightroom. This relates - for the moment at least - to images dating back ten years, to when I had my first digital camera, a Nikon D100.
My belief is that the photo in question, one of many, was taken at around 2pm on the afternoon of 17th April 2004. Note the following from the image (EXIF data):
- The "date/time original" shows 17/04/2002 13:58:48
- The "date/time digitized" shows 17/04/2004 23:15:29
- The "date/time" shows 17/04/2004 23:24:17
The same image in Windows explorer (see second image) shows:
> Date 17/04/2004 23:15
> Date Taken 17/04/2004 23:15
> Date Imported 17/04/2004 22:24
Given the subject matter of the image, it is 100% certain this image was in fact taken in April 2004.
How can it be, then, that the "original" shows a date two years earlier? Why would Lightroom use this field (the ONLY one showing 2002 when every other shows 2004)? And why does Explorer correctly show the date but Lightroom does not - surely if anything one might expect the opposite?
This is urgently needed to be resolved as I am making a photo book for my wife's 40th and, as it turns out, I am putting all the photos in all the wrong years!
And so does the export. I'm on a Mac.
Premiere is fine, but not Lightroom.
When I enable lens profile correction, choose default, auto or custom, LR5 will assign Tamron 28 75. However, the correct lens is the Tamron 24 70 (nikon). I checked my Lightroom 5 lens profiles list and the Tamron 24 70 is listed. How do I get LR5 to recognise the correct lens?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am trying to print a landscape oriented image. I choose an 11 x 17 paper size (entered as a custom size) to accommodate the print.
In Page Setup I choose landscape mode. On screen the paper is landscape but the image is vertical. When I choose vertical mode, the paper is vertical but the image is horizontal.
I try to switch width and height in Manage Custom Sizes but it only makes the opposite happen from the above scenario.
When I print, the paper is vertical with half the image printed horizontal.
Do the following
- Open LR 4.0
- Chose a Collection set
- right click, "Create new Collection"
- The collection is created in the previous collection set and on in the one selected.
To me. It is more logic to place the new collection in to the selected collection set and not next to .
i have to admit i rarely printed from LR before.most of the time i print from photoshop.but yesterday i had to print a lot of small images so i thought i try LR for it.
i wanted to print a few 35x45mm images on DIN A4 paper.
images dimensions are correct (35x45mm 360 DPI) and it prints as 35x45mm images when i use photoshop.
when i use LR and i set the cell size to 35x45mm the prints come out to small by a couple of millimeters.
LR has not so many print settings i could have messed up.. right?
I'm a new user of LR-5. I converted my catalog from PSE-11, and noticed ( after using the catalog for several days) that many of the capture dates are wrong. They were right in PSE-11. I use an HP PC, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1. What did I do Wrong?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been importing lots of photos from my hard drive into lightroom and been moving/renaming them in the process. I only got lightroom a few weeks ago.
This has worked fine but i've recently imported a few hundred photos off my iphone and doing the same thing - move and rename. The trouble is, these photos keep going into the 2009 folder, instead of the 2012 or 2013 folders that they should be. When i look at the photos, they have the correct name, and the capture date seems to be correct, its just lightroom keeps wanting to put them in the wrong folder by year.
naturally I want all my photos sorted into the right date folders as this is the way ive decided to organise my photos...
I'm trying to lay out an 8x10 cell in LR5. My page is a custom package and set up as an 8.5x11 sheet . When I click to add an 8x10 cell, I only get a cell that is ~ 8x8 and I have to drag the bottom down to 10".

I'm using Lightroom 4, just upgraded, have this problem: when I export to Folder1> Subfolder 1, it puts the export images in the next up hierarchical folder, i.e. Folder1. I select the folder I want in the Export dialog, and I don't have any subfolders selected or created, but it always sticks the shots in the next folder up the tree, it's happened every time I've exported.
I am exporting a 32 image slideshow to PDF (30 photos and a Intro Screen and Ending Screen). I add Sequence as a Text Overlay and it looks fine in LR; the first photo slide, after the Intro Screen, shows as 1/30 and the last, before the Ending Screen, shows as 30/30 in Preview and in Play.
The problem is that, after exporting, viewing the PDF (on my MacBook Air running OSX 10.8.3) shows the first photo slide as 2/30 and the last as 31/30!
I have tried creating the Sequence text overlay manually (by editing Custom and inserting Image and Total fields) but the same thing happens on export.
Will I have to export the images and create the slideshow outside LR? I do hope not - I much prefer staying in the LR environment until the workflow is complete.
I am currently running win 7 64 with lightroom 4.3and an Epson Stylus Pro 3880 networked. I also have a HP 2610 as local. When printing to the Epson I get print with a lot of red to the point it looks pink or purple. This is with the color management driver set to custom and color management turned off or vice versa with color controlled by printer. If I print to the HP colors look great. I have tried different paper outputs with no luck. I also have the same problem in CS5.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI found a curious bug in Lightroom 4.2.
If I have pictures taken after 23:00, Lightroom creates an import folder in the next day, but the dates in the files are correct.
Example: The file's date is: 29/11/2012 23:19.
However if I hover my mouse over the image in the import dialog:
The date that appears is 30/11/2012 00:19. Here's the detail:
After you import, you get the image in the wrong import folder, but the meta on the image is correct:
I've started to notice this before, but always thought of a wrong date on my camera. Just noticed that this happens with my camera, iPhone, and any other photo that has a time after 23:00.
After installing LR4 and converting a catalogue, I saved the metadata for an image in LR4 and did the same for the same image in LR3.6 (on a different machine).
The value for xmp:MetadataDate written by LR4 seems to be wrong. My timezone is UTC+8h for Western Australia. Here is an extract from the xmp file written by LR4:
xmp:CreatorTool="Ver.1.00"
xmp:ModifyDate="2012-03-03T18:10:27.00"
xmp:CreateDate="2012-03-03T18:10:27.00"
xmp:MetadataDate="2012-03-09T08:03:17+08:00"
Note the MetadataDate is my local time + 8h (I saved just after 8am). The timezone offset should be -8h.
On my laptop, I repeated this with LR3.6 and the ame extract from the xmp file it wrote is:
xmp:CreatorTool="Ver.1.00"
xmp:ModifyDate="2012-03-09T08:54:51.475-08:00"
xmp:CreateDate="2012-03-03T18:10:27.00"
xmp:MetadataDate="2012-03-09T08:54:51.475-08:00"
LR3.6 adjusts both the ModifyDate and the MetadataDate by -8h, which is correct if the time is meant to be UTC.
Why LR3.6 has changed the ModifyDate to the time that the xmp file was written, I'm not sure - LR$ doesn't and I wouldn't expect it to either since the raw file (NEF in my case) isn't modified.Looks like a bug in LR4 regarding the MetadataDate written to the xmp file.
Today I took some pictures, mostly RAW, but a few JPGs. Lightroom 4.1RC, Windows 7 64bit..When I use the Lens Correction feature on the RAW photos, the proper lens is selected, a Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR.
When I use the Lens Correction feature on the JPG photos, the proper lens is NOT selected, instead I see it has selected a Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 14-24 f/2.8G ED. In fact, next to "Model", I cannot even select the proper lens (the 16-85mm lens) because its not in the list.
