Photoshop :: Story Book

Apr 15, 2006

I am making a children's book for a school project.

I want to use one picture per page, but I want this effect for the background of the one picture.

Essentially, I want to imitate the design that the link uses with the effect covering different colors on different pages.

I also want a darkened area with the same dark color used in the outline of the pictures as a block for my text to be put on to.

Lightroom :: Unnecessary Page Limit For Blurb Book In Book Module?

Feb 25, 2014

I am in the process of making a photobook using Lightroom and discovered when I reached page 240 that I couldn't add any additional pages, much to my surprise.  I was surprised because I knew from Blurb's website that the limit for standard paper is 440 pages and mistakenly assumed that this limit would also apply within Lightroom.  I did more research online and found many others being surprised by this limitation after spending hours and days on a photo book.  I will likely work around this by exporting from Lightroom to .jpg and uploading to Blurb, but that will take extra time and effort and reduces the appeal of using Lightroom to create a Blurb book.  I had also tried exporting from Lightroom to .pdf only to find that the .pdf format exported by Lightroom is not compatible with the requirements of Blurb.

Lightroom :: Why Does Book Not Upload To Blurb From 4.2 Book Module

Oct 29, 2012

I am trying to up load a 40 page 12" x 12" photo book to Blurb from the book module in Lightroom 4.2.  It renders the pages and then having rendered the cover gets stuck, about 50% to 60% through the process. None of the photographs are starred or colour coded. I have uploaded successfully from this iMac in the last few weeks.

Lightroom :: How To Get A Book From Collections To An Active Book

Feb 14, 2014

I purchased Lightroom 5 and am creating a photo book through Blurb.  I accidently erased 38 pages, so after I re-created them, I clicked on Create Saved Book, which put it in Collections.  Now I am trying to work on the book again, and can open it, but when I go to the Library of photos, Lightroom automatically repopulates a new book with all the photos in that file and won't let me put them in the book I saved.  How can I get this partially finished book so that I can use it?

Photoshop :: CS2 On Mac Book Pro

Jun 16, 2006

I just bought a Mac Book Pro. I asked one of the speakers as a local apple in store class about running the CS2 suite on the Mac and he recommended I use the windows version running under Boot Camp instead of buying the Mac version.

I have CS2 for my old PC (which I still use) I believe I can install this version on my Mac, is that correct?

Photoshop :: Mac Font Book/CS3

Feb 1, 2009

I've been working with CS3 for 6-7 years now and I've hit a snag that is most likely small potatoes for most of you (I'm still a novice in many ways).

I have expanded my collection of fonts, mostly all TT1 fonts as I'm working on OSX Tiger. I loaded all of them (2500+) onto my hd/library/app support/adobe/fonts file. And of course I could only see a fraction of them when I pulled them up in CS3.

So, I went the Apple Font Book route, loading all of my fonts in Mac's Font Book - this is my first foray into any type of Font Manager, so I'm very green on this topic.

I created a series of collections. I deleted all fonts in the "hd/library/app support/adobe/fonts" folder. As a test, I exported a collection of fonts containing only 50 fonts into the "hd/library/app support/adobe/fonts" folder.

I opened up a test file in CS3, and typed in a test word. I went to change that word to one of the test fonts I uploaded. All I see is the original set of fonts I got when I first uploaded the 2500+.

CS3 is not recognizing the changes in that adobe folder. I have played around with many of the character presets and options to no avail.

What am I doing wrong? How do I get CS3 to recognize the changes? How can I pull up multiple collections from Font Book?

Photoshop :: Book Flipping Pages

Feb 8, 2012

Recently I accepted an offer on making a small commercial for a Online clothing shop. The add was ment to be filmed with cameras, actors and all that good stuff, but some 3 days into the pre production phase the "boss" changed his mind and decided he want's a CG based movie, aka something with computer graphics/animated and asked me if I can do it to?

Well, I said yes, regardless of the previous project recall, I see it as an importunity that might get me some future projects and ofc experience. Anyway, I did some research and decided to make a Photoshop animation. Was my first time using Photoshop more or less, but I managed to make it look decent in about 3 days time.

However, I am missing an important effect that I was requested to implement. Which is:

A catalog/book that is flipping trough pages trough out all the add and the book/catalog needs to have specific pictures as the pages.

The background should be transparent because I would shrink the book/catalog to a smaller size to fit it top middle of the screen, and a, for example, green square background on my main composition background, which is pink, would look very bad. If both The book/catalog and main composition backgrounds would be solid white it would work.

I know there are ways to do it in 3d max, After Effects etc.

Photoshop :: Old School 3-d-like Comic Book

Apr 15, 2009

I am not talking about the fancy 3-d apps that create these awesome metallic-loking 3 -d images,like this: I I'm talking about linear art, flat and 2-d, like the old school comic books like Superman, Wonder Woman and Spider-Woman. That's what I am looking to do:  I know there was some plug in that let you do them just like that, (after you typed in the name, you selected the letters and with some app, you manipulated them to look like old-school comic book lettering...)( I remember creating them old-school titles myself) with no fancy gradations, shines or bevels, it was just the lettering, and the effect of the 3dish thing...anyone knows what the plug in is, or if anything like that can be done with either Illustrator Cs4 or Photoshop Cs4? This is an example of what I did myself:   But that was years ago when I had Illustrator 10, and after a long time with no acces to the net or computers, I'm back in the swing of things, but I can't remember the name of the program or plug in that allowed you to do those imges!
