What I am looking for is to hit save and it to have pre selected a particular folder / to have remembered the last folder I saved in, and without need to interact with dialog boxes have it save in my chosen format at the quality I want. (i will never need to re-edit).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI’ve been using PAINT.NET, for a long time now.Today, I’ve created an account in the Forum, because I would like to ask, if possible and desirable for the Developers and the program Users, the following:
- make the default Tool - Rectangle Select;
- make the default save file type - JPEG (*.jpg;*.jpeg;*.jpe;*.jfif);
- allow the users to change the default workspace background color (now, Hex: #C9D3E2);
I have read the Rules and the FAQ.To finish I just would like to congratulate all of you, that have given us this fantastic piece of software (and for free)!
I believe it’s the best freeware software available, counting all types for software/utilities/add-ons, etc.
I would like to ensure that all my SVG files are UTF-8 when saved, but they sometimes come out as ISO 5589-1 (the defualt encoding) Is there a way to set & lock this somewhere, somehow?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI open PDFs in Illustrator that were created in Autodesk Inventor. The default of Myriad Pro is applied and I would like to change that. I have made a new document profile and a new workspace, but the profile is only good for a new document. The workspace does not change the default type. I could save lots of time if I could change this behavior! I am working in CS6 on a 64-bit Windows machine.
Perhaps it is only a question of getting Illustrator to recognize Arial?
I am using Illustrator CS5.1 and have just noticed that whenever I try to open a new document (file/New...) the document is a PDF instead of an AI file. How do I change it back to AI? - Not sure how it changed to PDF in the first place.
View 12 Replies View RelatedI got CS6 Design Standard and the default type tool is "Right-To-Left Type Tool". I don't see the way how to change it. I managed to change the default type face and language for new documents but the type tool is switching back to RTL no matter what. How to change this?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to figure out what file type/setting I should start saving my files as for printing. I want to have files that will give the highest quality when printing, but not take up any more space on my hard drive than necessary (I want to archive and be able to share the non psd files). What would you guys recommend? Are you losing anything by saving files as jpg? What about the difference between quality level 10 and 12 for jpg (since the file size doubles)?
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I open, edit, and save a .jpg file in Photoshop, I sometimes get the message box asking what quality (1 - 12), etc. I want, and sometimes I don't. If I'm running a batch process, it sometimes stops and presents me that option, and sometimes not. What makes the difference?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI am working on a commercial development with multiple large tenants with multiple standards. To begin to verify the preliminary grading is in compliance, I use the slope arrow surface analysis type.
Due to my multiple standards, I find myself changing these values frequently. My question : Is there a way to make the slope arrow the default analysis type when you are in the surface properties dialog box?
I know it is not a major issue, but it is annoying and repetitive, having to go to the list box, and select slope arrow over and over again. One workaround I have considered to avoid this maddening situation is to make two surfaces, with each criteria assigned to the surface properties and simply paste the main surface into each. Then control which is visible based on what I need to look at.
When I save for the web, select my file type ( png,wbmp,jpeg) it displays the file type as a Gif in the lower left even though the file saves in the correct format. This is the version from the cloud download. Every file type displays this way?

After using the type tool on my photograph I am unable to save it in a folder on my desk top. It is saved with the PSE blue logo and I am unable to see the photo with the type tool with my name on the photograph. All I see is the blue PSE logo in the folder.
View 3 Replies View Related I want to use for an application's icon, and I was hoping that I could create the icon in PhotoShop Elements 6.I do not see any way to do this, however. That file-type option is not available in either "Save As" or "Export."
I did a Google search and saw where I would need to download a plug-in.
I am sometimes in a situation where i need to save images as png at a certain size or something for a website (or just because i like to save out as png) and in many cases i am not using any optimizations in psd files.
is there a way to have photoshop default to Save As png?
right now i think i have to do a pulldown every time i want a png and when i am trying to do some kind of "batch processing" i am getting a bit of carpal tunnel with all my clickthroughs.
also, any tips on where to read up on optimizations or built in batch functionality in photoshop would be great. i have been using Preview for the mac and some of the functionality there (convert all to png, resize all to XX etc, etc)
By default, the PDF print drivers we use (Bluebeam, PDF 995) set True Type text handling to be "as graphics" rather than "as text" (see below), which makes for some ugly text. I know I can make this change and save as a .PC3 file, but all our page setups for sheets & templates in the office all reference these default drivers, so it would be preferable to change the way the default driver works if possible. Is the default plotter configuration editable?

I am trying to use File, Save For Web, to save high res jpeg images. Everything I try changes theWhere do I change this. I am using
Photoshop CS4?
I need to compress about 1,000 jpg images and I'm using the "save for web" feature in Photoshop 7 but I'm running into problems because my file names are very long and its cutting them off. I found the workaround by editing the output settings and unchecking the "Mac OS" box under "Filename Compatibility".
However, the problem is that the default settings do not stay like this once I hit OK and I end up having to uncheck the Mac OS box for each and every file. Is there a way to permanently change the default settings so I can do batch processing for all my images?
I know that PSDs are the default file format, and I've read that CS6 is sticky and will save a file in the last file format that was saved.
Here's my scenario:
1. In Lightroom 5, I right-click on one of my RAW files (NEF) and select to edit in CC.
2. CC opens and I do some edits.
3. Trying to save the file.
a. If I just "Save" the file, it saves as a TIFF.
b. If I use "Save As..." the dialog is defaulted to a TIFF
I've tried opening one file from LR into CC, saving it as a PSD, then closing CC hoping that it would be sticky, nope.
How can I force CC to always default to save files as a PSD unless I tell it otherwise?
Is there a way to set a particular folder as default for when you "save as" files?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a situation where I need to rather quickly open a jpeg file, make color corrections, and then "save for web" to a new location as a jpeg file.
Everythihg's working fine except that when I go to save the file, Photoshop always defaults to HTML format. So I need to go to the file type and change it to HTML, and then go to the filename and rename the extension from html to jpg -- all this before I can save each file. And when I'm doing 15-20 files at a time, it becomes annoying quickly.
Is there any way I can tell Photoshop I always want to save web photos as jpegs?
I need to open a PDF file that has multiple pages. On "FileOpen" it comes up with Import PDF. There are 21 pages. I know how to highlight all the pages so they all load at once. Do to the volume of work this is impractical. Control+A will not work for this.
1. Is there a way to have "Open" select all, no matter on the number, pages into Photoshop 13.122. On "Save As" it defaults to ".psd". I want it to default to ".jpg". I'm doing several hundred plus.3. Also do not want it to ask me if “OK”, just do the save.
All I want to do is bring in the "PDF's" and brake the multiple files to a singe page ".jpg" or "PNG" file and rename the file just before the save.
