Photoshop :: Resolution To Save Work?

Jun 7, 2004

Is it the practice to save an edited photo in its highest resolution?

By default PhotoShop suggested 'medium' resolution.

What is some criteria on this?

Photoshop :: Screen Resolution Preferences Does Not Work?

Sep 8, 2013

I have a 1920x1080, 17.4 laptop. That is approx 126.6 ppi screen resolution if my calculkations are correct...So in order to set PS to display real size of the images according to the zoom, I go to edit / preferences / units & rulers and set the screen resolution to 126.6 instead of the default 72ppi.

But nothing changes...what am I doing wrong? 100% zoom is still showing much larger image than real (as if 72ppi screen resolution was unchanged). I have tried extreme ppi like 10 and 1000 to see if anything chaged but still nothing, I have restarted Ps and the laptop, and the preferences are correctly saved but zoom still wrong..

Photoshop :: What's An Ideal Photo Resolution To Work With?

Jul 21, 2009

I am learning Photoshop on my own. I am using CS4. I need some help in understanding the resolution thing.

If I have a photo taken with a digitala camera at 6 megapixel and I want to load it on Photoshop for a few tweaks and adjustments what resolution should I assign? I usually choose 200 pixels/inch.

Secondly, does it affect the image if the resolution assigned on Photoshop is lesser than the camera resolution?

I do not take prints of my Photoshop works. Just in case I need to print them I need to make sure that the resolution is appropriate.

Photoshop :: Cannot Save In Low-resolution

Sep 1, 2012

I am using a Netbook as of now. The resolution of it is 1024x600. Why are you not aloud to "save" or "save-as" with a resolution lower than 1024x768? The weird part is, when I close a tab on Photoshop, it will ask me if I want to save and it will let me save my work as a Photoshop Document. It also makes no sense on how Fireworks will let me use "save" and save-as" with my resolution. So is there anyway I can save my work on Photoshop other than using .psd format?

Additionally, I transfer the .psd to Fireworks and then save my work from there. Only problem is that none of my effects (i.e. Bevel & Emboss) on layers show up when they are transferred to Fireworks.

Photoshop :: How To Save As PDF Without Reducing Resolution

Sep 23, 2013

My card is ready to go at the specified resolution (300 dpi) and dimensions, but whenever I save it as a pdf, it reduces the resolution immensely. The dimensions of the photoshop file are 1062x615, whereas the pdfs (no compression) are always 254x147. The photoshop file, again, is 300 dpi.

The dimensions in inches for both files: 3.54 x 2.05 Obviously 254 pixels across 3.54 inches is not 300 dpi, but I cant figure out why it would do this.

GIMP :: Lowering Resolution In Work-in-progress?

Dec 8, 2011

how to use layers, and how to get the colors under the black ink-lines. The results are so good, I am able to do professional-level work with this excellent coloring/image-manipulation program. Yes, I'm doing paid work with GIMP 2!

However! As I am still experimenting with several techniques [I found that scanning in at 600 on my scanner produces good-enough quality linework to color etc], I tried one cartoon frame at 1200 and although the resolution is excellent, the higher res has meant the program is slow in shutting down/flattening layers, etc. GIMP works fine in 600 resolution and I will stick to this in future.

Is there any way I can convert the resolution down from 1200 to 600 halfway through, which would save me from starting the color from scratch again? I may also have a problem e-mailing the finished pro cartoon artwork at 1200.......The image is in xcf format.

Xara :: How To Edit A Bitmap And Save Back In Its Original Resolution

May 25, 2013

Should be a simple question. Using Designer Pro X I load a PNG file. I then do nothing except "save as" also in PNG format.

My expectation was I would get the same file. Instead it seems to have changed the resolution and now looks terrible.

An ordinary graphic program like paint.net or photoshop would save the same file back to disk.

There must be something I am failing to understand about Xara. How do I edit a bitmap and have it save back in its original resolution?

I've just upgraded to Photoshop CS6, and did the update to v13.04.  Get a message with Save for Web: "The operation could not be completed. A write permissions error has occurred." There is a bug fix for v12 for exactly this, but CS5.5 (not sure which version of 12 it was) worked fine on this machine.  On a Macbook 17 inch running OSX 10.7.5 with 8gig Ram and 2.5 Ghz I7.

Photoshop :: Save To Web For JPEG Does Not Work

Jul 26, 2009

Originally when I installed CS4, save to web worked great. When I would downsize an image so as to post on the web, it would downsize with ease and I could save it as a JPEG. Problem now: On the right upper corner of the page, I have it set for JPEG. When I downsize the image to 250, the "GIF" in the far left bottom corner does not convert over to JPEG. Thus, the image is not getting downsized properly as it used to. I still have Photoshop Elements 7 on my computer so now when I want to downsize an image, I work on it first in CS4, get out of CS4 and then go into PS7. Again, for weeks, the GIF would turn into JPEG on the far let. Now in CS4 it does not. What do I need to do to fix this? I have added a screenshot to show my settings in CS4.

Photoshop :: Save As Doesn't Work / CS6 Beta

May 3, 2012

When I have a PSD file, and try to save it, It will now let me save it as an JPG, CS5 did. Even after flattening the image, I often find it does not work instead of saving it as JGP as wanted, it PS changes it to IMG.

I have just had the same trouble trying to save to PDF, PS changed the extension to JPF, I eventually found a work around, jut kept ging down the list of files, until PS decided to add the PDF extension I was after.

I have tried to completely remove CS6 and re install it, no difference.

Photoshop :: Making Low Resolution Image Look Higher Resolution For Print

Mar 17, 2013

I realize the nature of my question maybe asking the impossible, but I have a low res image I downloaded from the internet, placed in an InDesign page, blew it up and printed it out. I was going for the distressed look that it has, it looks ok when I print it out considering it's low res and I blew it up fairly large. However, it's a little too pixelated to look professional when printed. Are they any tricks or things I can do to make it look higher res for print. I've attached the image as well as a screenshot of the InDesign file so you can see it in context.

Photoshop :: Recording Save For Web In Action Still Doesn't Work Properly In CS6 13.0.1?

Aug 31, 2012

There is still an issue with making new actions that include saving for web. While recording the action, save for web functions as it should. But once the action is played, regardless of the original format the saved image should be, it gives it an html filename extension.

[URL]

I have spoken about this bug with a friend that is a computer programmer. Considering that the action is saving the file correctly, and it's only the name that is not saving properly indicates that this is a superficial error, and not an issue that would require rewriting the code completely. Also consider that this WAS functioning properly in CS5, and that this is a very easily reproducible bug.
