Okay so I am able to create these really great looking icons, and I usually create them at 160h x 480w.
Now what I want to do is shrink them down to actual icon size like 16x48. But the thing is they look like crap when I shrink them down.
First and foremost I am a programmer not a designer. But does anyone know any tutorials on how to make small *crisp* icons? I just dont understand how to make small icons that look decent.
I am very framiliar with photoshop (several years worth) Not so much illustrator.... but this small sized image issue is giving me a real headache any suggestions?
I'm trying to resize an image (which I can't post the link to because I'm new), which is a simple iPhone icon, to about twice it's size however when I do this it comes out really blurry. Is there anyway I can enlarge this and still maintain the integrity of the image?
but my result- the dwg preview is very small I only white screen without figures which I wrote in it. How to resize and fit the image into the icon ? (when i press command button I would like to see maximum image in icon ).
When I loaded some photo actions into my new PSE11 it show only a generic icon in the effects palette, not the icon from the maker so it takes extra time to search for the action I need. How can I get the icon from the maker to show as the icon in the palette?
It has come to my attention that the new drag-resize feature only changes the master diameter of the brush but leaves the dual-brush diameter intact. It is the only shortcut that does this resizing improperly.
I would like to know if everyone else experiences the same problem. Is it a bug or is this way of resizing intended?
I mainly do digital paintings and this small bug makes the feature useless for me. I hope that it will be fixed at least in cs5.
In previous versions I have been able to resize the canvas and then resize the image. For example resize the canvas to 250px x 250 px. Then resize the image to the same.
Here is the process I am using:
Duplicate the layer and then hide it. Resize the canvas (Image > Canvas Size) to 250px x 250 px. Un-hide the layer and then resize the image (Image > Image Size). When I go into Image>Image Size it says that the image is already 250px x 250px. However if I try to transform the scale the image is the original size and not 250px x 250px
The reason for needing this is I resize image size (in bulk) and the canvas size using the batch process (file>automate>batch) and actions. I loaded the actions file I used in previous versions, but that did not work correctly. I then went in to do this manually and got the same results.
I have just been trying to resize some images on the latest version - 3.510.4297.28964 - and I have typed the measurements that I wanted into the print size fields on the resize dialogue. The actual sizes the program resizes the images to differ though - some look to be about right, whereas some come out much larger, but they all show the dimensions that I inserted in the canvas size box. I'm sure I've done this before and this hasn't happened?
How do I get an icon for Photoshop? I downloaded it four hours ago but did not get an icon on the desktop for it. I downloaded Lightroom as well and it placed an icon on the desk top.
with the theme of icons I need to create. I am hoping to develop of theme of racing icons (similar to the Window Icons) but can't seem to find anything on the net. Anything similar (football, baseball, whatever) would be fine as long as it provided me with information on shading and perspective. I am hoping to create these small little icons for my Tony Stewart Fansite. While I would rather do and learn everything myself if nothing can be found I could venture out of pocket assuming it isn't too costly.
I am using an iMac, OS 10.7.5 and PS CS6. When I save an image file from PS CS6 into Finder, the image icon looks like the image on the left in the attached photo. Before I take the image to PS CS6 and add any changes the icon looks like the image on the right. All I did to the image on the left before saving was to make a very brush tool stroke. Both images are jpeg format.
The image on the right has a "frame" around it while the one on the left does not. Is the OS operation system or Photoshop software changing the appearance of the new icon (after save) on the left, without the "frame".
Recently, some of my folders in Bridge CS3 have had images replaced by DNG icons. Other folders still okay. Not sure how to go about getting things back to images in folders like before.
Mac OS 10.7.5. Photoshop CC.Everything is set accordingly: Yet I get only generic file icons. Can you find the only Photoshop CC file in this folder, all others are Photoshop CS6 files?
I don't know what I did or what happened but my paint brush icons/cursors keep defaulting back to the 'precise' setting and i like to work with the actual size setting
i go into preferences and change it back but it keeps flip flopping
Recently this icon has been appearing on the top left corner of all my photoshop files... it looks like a "insert image" icon (with the 2 mountians) and it has the number "01" beside it. I don't know how I got into this mode but I need out of it!
I saw that the file icons of the PNG files are not the blue ones (like we all know them, after installing Photoshop CS3), but the default Windows (I'm using Windows XP SP3) icons. I mean like when I don't have a program to open a given file, that is how it looks like. But when I double click on the PNG file it opens right away, so in my eyes there is a problem, of some kind, with the ICO file itself. The strangest thing is that this ICO file is not missing, deleted or moved! This happened only with the PNG files. All other Photoshop related files are ok and have their respective icons. how to change the PNG file icon, so I can choose manually the ICO file.
how this reflection was achieved? I kind of understand the layer 2( they duplicated the original, moved down and then reduced opacity) but I don't understand the process of layer 3 at all. It'll great if some give me a tutorial on how to make this reflection.
way i can get photoshop to put out xml and icon files along with my psd files? I want to make my own photo lithos but can figure out how to out put it.
I'm a photoshop noob and I just purchased the CS3 version.
I've been experimenting with different texts and styles and everything was going fine until..
I must of hit something by mistake but every time I click on a new tool icon on the left hand side (like text or brush for example) it doesnt come up. When I mouse over my image all I get is the hand icon. Its like stuck on the hand icon or something. I've been trying to figure it out for the past 20-30 min.
Closing photoshop doesn't fix it either. I'm thinking I must of put myself in some special mode or something. The tool will be highlighted to the left..but like I said all that shows up when I mouse over is a little hand icon.
i need a logo with a printer icon on it. i got the text ready. and i also got a printer icon for the logo. but i would like to make some changes to it. as i have very little skills in photoshop i turn to u guys.
the printer icon is in Wingdings2 font and is character '6'. The colors i would like to be used are: #FFBF2B and #55746F. i used #55746F for the printer and #FFBF2B for the paper, but feel free to change this. also if u have a better icon of a printer or something u can use that if u wish.
Last night while watching the progress of the status bar I glanced down and saw there is also one in Photoshop icon on the Dock. I had never noticed it before.
Nothing earth shattering here but it's funny how you can walk down your street for years and then one day notice something. And you scratch your head and say "Has this always been here?
