Photoshop :: Removing Animation From CS6 Documents?
Aug 15, 2013
I received a layered psd from a colleague. In PS, she did some simple animation to show me what she was looking for. I had planned to take the file in to after effects to do the final animation, but when I do, the animation comes in and every layer and comp has a pre-set duration that I cannot change without time remapping.
Â
For example, there is a 'pack shot' and some text. The entire animation is about 2 seconds and 15 frames. When I import as a composition in to after effects, every layer is pre-set to 2 secods and 15 frames - even the text layers and precomps. The text layers have that out point marker like comps do - but as a still layer it normally doens't have a set out point.
Â
In photoshop I was able to convert to a frame animation and delete the frames, ending only with where the end of the animation is, but the durations are still there...
Â
How can I completely delete animation from a PSD so that photoshop or after effects can't even tell it was ever animated? Is there a simple "remove all animation data" command?
I have a document with several pictures in it and I would like to renmove only the pictures and save them so I can insert them into a different document. I can bring the document into Photoshop Elements and using the magnetic lasso tool, select the image(s) but I can't figure out how to save only the images so I can use them again in another document.
Any way to remove the .dst listings in the "Recent Documents" list on the "File" pulldown? We use Civil 3D mostly with dwg files and they are usually pushed off the list because of Sheet Set Manager files. Some of these dst's haven't been opened in weeks? But there still at the top of the list....very unproductive when you have to go searching for a dwg file you were just working on.....

In the timeline panel in CS6 EXTENDED, you have a video feature, where you can animate three things:
Position Style Opacity  What I would like to know, is: How can I animate rotation of a layer? I want to rotate my layer at an angle and animate it. But when I rotate, the first animation frame is also rotated, resulting in NO animation between the frames.
Drawing A has a grid system Xref-ed into it. It also has a block reference in it, repeated in various places throughout the drawing.
I Xref-ed the grid into the block to check something, and now I can't get it out. This means that the grid now repeats all over Drawing A as well and is generally being a nuisance.
If I try to unload the Xref within the block, it unloads it in Drawing A too. If I try to detach it from the block, it returns this message: Xref [Xref name] has multiple references. Not detached. If I try to detach the Xred from Drawing A, it returns the same message.
How do I unload the same Xref that occurs in a block in a drawing, and in the drawing itself, independently of each other?
So I use Photoshop a lot. I think I got CS6.Anyways. Last week I could play 3 internet files, two movies, photoshop 5 different documents and much more. However, now I can't open internet and do photoshop. I have to restart my computer to run photoshop and make sure I don't use any other program. Sometimes the file only lasts 30 minutes before it won't allow me to edit. Â I have A LOT of room left on my computer. 706GB free of 907GB. I tried to clean my computer, but that didn't work. It also is saying extrusion file is curruptied or damaged.
I have Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended on a MacBook Pro 15 (Late 2011) running Mac OS X 10.7.3. When I open a document in Photoshop, the document window is nowhere to be found yet it allows me to edit things within the document via double-clicking layers in the layers panel. Why does this happen and how do I fix it? Â I've tried opening multiple documents at once, using the "arrange windows" option, and changing the workspace, all to no avail. The only thing I have found is restarting the entire system each time. This isn't something I want to continue to do.
I just bought Photoshop CS5 and I can not open RAW documents with it. It happened to me the same problem with Element 8 and I managed to install CameraRaw8 on it.
I did the same manipulation and this error message show up: "Unable to use the Camera Raw plug-in"
I have some really important paperwork i need edited, dates changed. I already scanned the document. All I want to do is change some dates around and I cant seem to figure it out.
I will be photographing old blueprints that are 3'x4'(this will be the largest).
I will be getting a camera stand and I am looking at the Bogen / Manfrotto Mini Salon 190 Camera Stand which seems to be the best solution for my needs.
But my question is what lens?? I have a Sigma 20mm macro but I am concerned about the distortion around the edges (which sigma does great with trying to eliminate). The other camera I have is a canon 28-135 that has limited macro capabilities but I think some Kenko tubes might take care of that.
The lighting has me a bite perplexed as well. With the camera at a 90 degree angle I will have to make sure the light source is between the camera and the paper and not over the camera to eliminate shadows. My studio lights are too big for this and flash is supposedly a big no-no because of creating hot spots.
This feature sometimes works and sometimes doesn't. For instance I just opened two photos and tried to use Arrange Docs clicking on the side by side choice. Nothing happens. Tried this several times.
Then I hit F three times to cycle through and get back to normal view. Tried Arrange Docs side by side once again and it worked.
Shut down PS Cs4 and opened it again and brought in the same two pictures and Arrange worked right away.
But I know it will fail again as it has on many occasions in the last few days. I can't predict when it will work.
My video card does not support GPU. It's an Invidia GSX5500. Could that be the reason?
I have CS2 running on XP with a Wacom tablet. I need to copy select layers of several designs into a larger layout. I've tried to link and paste and I can't get multiple layers highlighted to link. As a work around, I've copied them and merged them and then copied and pasted the single layer -- overall not a pleasant solution.
One new feature in CS4 is 'arrange documents' and the drop down options. This works great. However when I close the open files and open some more CS4 has lost the settings I had. Is there somewhere to make it default to 'my' settings - always do the same as last settings. For example 'float all in windows' would be the default to always open new files instead of tabbed always opening first.
I recently got CS4 version of Photoshop and now I'm having a weird problem with the "Arrange Documents" navigation. When I installed PS the dropdown menu worked like it should, but suddenly without any warning it started to like this:As you can see it doesn't show any icons on the menu.. just blank dropdown. I works correctly though f.ex.
I can choose any option I want, but it's so frustrating trying to navigate as "blind". I've tried looking through the preferences about interface and so on, but haven't found help from there. Also I tried uninstalling and re-installing the hole software again. The result was that when I opened PS for the first time after re-installation it worked like it should be (I could see all the option like I should), but as I turned off the computer and opened it the next day the situation was this problem again.
I have installed Photoshop CS6, am running on Mac 10.6.8 and now EVERY file I open in PS opens up at 0.071%. Tried throwing away preferences, no change. Have looked over every PS forum and the net in general for ANY clue on this one.
I have inserted (Object) a Photoshop PDF into Word documents. The results is TERRIBLE!  I had a professional photographer photograph drawings in RAW. He gave me a DVD with TIFF images he created in Photoshop. I opened these TIFF files in Photoshop CS6, cropped, sized and rotated to landscape. I saved it as a PDF. I then opened Word (Windows 7). I inserted the Photoshop PDF. It looked terrible! Lines are missing or gray. If I print them out directly from Photoshop (not as PDF) they come out perfect. But my publisher wants everything in ONE document (Word).
Mac OSX10.6.8, PS CS6Â current version (not the cloud).Just updated from CS5 to CS6. Photoshop, when I open a new doc it is scaled down to .08%, and when I use the fit to window option the document scales down to .08% view. CS5 does not do this, thought maybe I have a setting wrong in CS6, or something is new that I missed. Doesn't have anything to do with resize window pref., does it no matter if it's checked or not.
When opening and saving documents with smart objects photoshop freezes the adobe PS loader (circle dots) is replaced and the system loader (multi colored wheel of death) spins for 30 seconds or more. Â What I've tried so far based off looking at various posts. Â Photoshop Preferenes

I am having an issues with Photoshop becoming unresponsive. After about 10 minutes Photoshop will not open or create a document. I've disabled opengl in Photoshop with the same results. This error occurs on both CS5 and CS6 versions of Photoshop. I've tried reinstalling Photoshop (not removing and reinstalling, just reinstalling). I am trying to design a billboard, and I cannot save this document as a PDF to submit it for approval. What format should I build this in and what program is the best, photoshop or illustrator?
In Photoshop CS6 if one wants to use floating document windows (I don't care for tabs) the opened image cannot be moved around the interface. If you drag the image the document window snaps back to where you moved it from plus some amount to the left. Eventually if you keep trying to drag it to a new location it will move all the way to the left side of the screen and will snap back there when you try to move it. I often like to have several images up at once as I do comps and I am very disappointed that such a major interface issue made it through testing un-noticed. Â This happens on both my laptop PC and my Desktop. Both Windows 7 64bit pro machines and each have 8G of ram. Desktop has Nvidia graphics and the laptop has Intel graphics. Happens in both 32 and 64 bit versions of windows.
I am a web designer and have a problem with my Photoshop CS6. I work on both a mac and a pc (Win7), but use CS6 on both systems. My files are always worked with on both systems. Â With several psd's, I noticed a color difference when I dragged layers to new psd's. Even the RGB values changed. When dragged back to the original psd, the colors change back again. This is not a constant problem. I have checked the color settings of both files and see no difference. If I place the color specified in the failing psd in a HTML-file, the color does not resemble the failing psd. In HTML, the color resembles the new psd. I think there is something wrong with some of my psd's, but cannot figure out what it could be and how to fix and prevent it. Â I have a feeling it may be caused by changing between mac and pc, but surely this could not be the cause? I am, at the moment, unable to try this out myself, but will try this out later this week.
I have just upgraded by creative cloud to CS6. I can't find in CS6 the arrange brilliant documents icon which automatically tiles open documents in CS4 in one click. Where it is hidden?
I have been experiencing a problem with Photoshop CS5 12.1 in which, after a variable amount of time from a system restart, Photoshop will no longer open files or create new ones. It is very difficult to search for and/or explain the nature of this problem, but I will try my best.  Photoshop behaves completely normally after a fresh reboot of Windows until this problem presents itself.  The problem has manifested itself during use and before use. If it occurs during use, it seems that various features of Photoshop stop working. For example: I can't save files that are open. Photoshop will go through the motions of doing a "File > Save as...", but nothing happens on the file system. Restarting Photoshop at this point does not resolve the problem.  If Photoshop is already in this non-functional state upon opening, files cannot be opened nor new files created. Here is what happens during an attempt to open a file: Click "File > Open..."Open dialog is shown, I browse to select a ".psd" file to openOnce file is selected, click "Open" button on dialogDialog disappears, but document never opens If I try to use "File > New...", the New dialog never appears.  Once in this state, the only way to use Photoshop normally again is to do a full system reboot. This seems to indicate that something is slowly happening on my system (such as RAM usage) that eventually renders Photoshop inoperable. However, at the time of failure, there appears to be ample resources available for Photoshop to use.  if I need to clarify any of this further.  System Information Dumps: PS Sysinfo (post failure) [URL] DXDiag (post failure) [URL]  If it would be useful to include information from a fresh restart (pre failure)
Does anyone know how to create an action that will open a second document, select all of the layers (or layers within a group) and move/drag them back into my working document?
I have tried all kinds of combinations but only received the "...is not currently available" alert; somehow, move is not recorded.
Is there a way to merge two psd files into one? I'd like to copy a layer from an image file to another but it wont allow me to do so, so merging the 2 psd files is the only solution I can find.
