Photoshop :: Registry Setting To Enable Over-scrolling When Zoomed Out?

Dec 13, 2012

registry tweak to allow overscrolling on a PC when zoomed out to where the entire image fits on the screen, and I made a mental note to get back and try it, but now I can't find the post from which to get the specific setting.

Photoshop :: Scrolling Past Canvas Edges When Zoomed

Mar 30, 2006

I often work with very large images (300dpi, with both geographical space and file size very large) since I'm often printing these images for print / direct marketing campaigns or signage. The image I'm working on now, for example, is 255MB / 44" x 42" @ 300 DPI. That's a big picture! So, sometimes I need to work in detail at the edge of a document. That's where the problem comes in:

When I'm zoomed in at say 100%, while working with that 44" by 42" image, obviously I must scroll around to get access to other areas of the image and display them on the screen. However, if I try to use the Hand tool for instance and drag up so I bring the canvas up and expose some part of the gray outside (and thus exposing the edge plus some blank space for me to work on, just like you'd do in Flash or whatever other programs.) When I try to do that with PhotoShop CS2, it will bring the image to the edge of the image's window, but not allow me to drag it even further like you'd be able to do at say a zoom level of 50% or smaller.

Can I enable this feature so I can drag images and move them into the window display but also show some of the exterior of the canvas so that I can work in great zoomed detail but at the leading edge in 100% zoom mode?

Illustrator :: CS6 Mouse Wheel Scrolling Too Slow While Zoomed In?

Nov 5, 2012

I'm currently using windows 8. OS Version is not related to this issue I think since I'm using both CS5 and CS6.CS6, compared to CS5, scroll increment is just too small, and there's no option for this in CS6. It is a real pain while zoomed in.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Using A Macro To Enable Copy Model IProperty Setting

Dec 3, 2013

We have recently found the feature of copying the model iProperties to the drawing would be beneficial to searching for files in our ERP database. I am looking for a way to turn on the ability to copy model iProperties and select which properties to copy with a macro. There are several articles showing how to enable the feature and several ways to macro the same process. I have not been able to find a way to turn it on with a macro.

We plan to adjust our templates to enable the feature on all new drawings and add additional custom iProperties to the models that were previously only used in the drawings. I have wrote a macro to add iProperties to existing models that didn't have them when they were created. Now I am looking for a way to enable everything in the drawing. I see a great benefit to clicking a single button to enable the copy model iProperties feature and select several iProperties that will be copied without having to do it manually for every old drawing.

Is there a way to access the check box to enable this and to select properties within the API? If not, would creating a macro to do the copy from the model to the drawing be the best way to create that functionality in an older drawing or not? We have a little program that will give programmatic control over the mouse but creating code to access the feature that way would be more hassle than teaching our users to manually check the boxes.

Lightroom :: Enable Profile Corrections Auto Setting Doesn't Find X100s Profile In 4.4

Mar 27, 2014

In Development module in LR4.4, viewing a Fuji X100s raw file (converted on import to DNG) I tick the box for "Enable Profile Corrections" under "Lens Corrections," and select "Auto" from the "Setup" menu. I would have thought that LR would pick up the X100s profile, but no, nothing happens. If I choose "Fujifilm" from the "Make" dropdown, I can find the X100 (not X100s) profile manually. The profile's probably pretty similar, but still, I'm wondering why my install of 4.4 doesn't have the X100s profile in place?

While I'm at it, I'll ask this too -- I recently bought the new Nikkor 35mm 1.8G ED (the new full frame 35mm Nikon lens, not the trusty 35mm 1.8DX) and there's no profile for that lens in my LR4.4 either.

Finally, I note that when I choose "Check for Updates" from the "Help" menu in LR, I'm told there are no updates available.

Photoshop :: CS2 Registry Error

Jun 21, 2008

Cleaning ou tmy registry recently, I discovered that photoshop is leaving entries in the registry for every file I edit. These are "recent" file entires, but instead of deleting any more than ten, it is keeping them all!!! It does it every time you edit the file too. This means that I cleared out some 5000 registry entries that photoshop had failed to remove. Thing is that because they come under the type "file path problems", not all registry editors will even see them.

Photoshop :: CS6 - Any Way To Pan While Zoomed Out?

Nov 8, 2012

This is something I found frustrating while using CS4 and never got around to finding out if there was a way around it. Now that I am using CS6 I took a look around the preferences and did not see anything that will allow me to pan around an image while I am viewing the whole image. This becomes rather frustrating when I am working on the edge of a photo and using a brush tool as the way PS is set up pretty much forces me to work right next to my tool bars and more than once I have accidentally clicked on another tool rather than starting my brush stroke off the edge of my work like I want to.

Photoshop :: When Zoomed In, I Can't Use The...

May 3, 2009

I've actually been through this on every edition of PS I've used, and now being on CS4, I figure it's time I asked about it finally, lol. Why is it that when I am zoomed in on an image, say 600% magnification or more, my selected tool becomes the guideline creation/drag icon? If I zoom out enough, it changes back to the tool I'm using (i.e. select tool, pen tool, etc.), but whenever I zoom in too much, it will automatically switches to the guideline tool, not allowing me to do anything else. I taught myself PS, and for the most part, I've figured out any problems I've had by searching forums, google, etc., but this has always stumped me. Is there something I need to change in my settings? Or a hotkey I can use to continue using my selected tool while zoomed in?

Photoshop :: Zoomed Pixelation

Sep 26, 2005

I have regarding showing pixels on an image? I want to do a series of images that are sharp in the centre and display no pixels (ie a 'normal' sharp photographic image) but that gets more and more 'pixilated' towards the edges so the the size of the pixels increases towards the edge until they are very obviuosly pixelated. I've tried using the mosaic sub filter but that leaves all the visible pixel 'blocks' the same size and I want them to get bigger towards the edges.

I recently got a new HP computer and installed photoshop CS4 onto it. The irritating thing about it is when im using alt+scroll wheel to zoom in and out as soon as i get close enough to the image that side scroll bars appear the alt+mousewheel will no longer work. It simply scrolls up and down and i need to grab the zoom tool in order to do anything else afterwards. Im pretty sure this is a conflict with my OS or something but has anyone else had this issue or know a way to resolve it? HP computer with vista 64 home.

Photoshop :: Scrolling When Using Tools Near The...

Feb 11, 2009

How can I turn off auto-scrolling when tools are used near the edge of the window? It's extremely frustrating to be actively drawing, not noticing that I'm getting near the evil danger zone, and to suddenly be three pages down with a vertical brush streak all the way down my image, and having to undo, reposition, redo ...

The same thing happens with the ruler tool; I'll be near the edge, hit shift to snap the ruler to an axis, and suddenly I'll be a mile away scrolled completely outside of the canvas and throwing my arms in the air in frustration.

I never want an image to scroll in this way.

Photoshop :: Color Banding In CS6 While Zoomed Out

Oct 19, 2012

I have a problem with color banding in Photoshop CS6 while zoomed out, even though I am working in 16 bit. Here is a crop of the same area of a .psd while open in Photoshop CS6 (left) and in Illustrator CS5 (right).

The banding is quite apparent in PS while not present in Illustrator. At 100% zoom there is little banding in PS, and converting to 8 bit makes it look markedly worse. However at 25% zoom (which these crops were taken at) converting to 8 bit makes no visible difference, making me think that Photoshop's zoom is working at 8 bit for some reason.

Since the image looks fine in Illustrator I'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my display, or graphics card/driver. I've tried changing the color profile (currently set to Adobe RGB) in Photoshop without effect. I've also tried changing the 'Graphics Processor' level in Photoshop, including disabling it entirely, as well as reducing the cache level to '1' without effect either. I'm not quite sure why Illustrator is able to handle the image so nicely at all zoom levels while Photoshop introduces all this banding.

Photoshop :: Change Layer Scrolling Shortcut?

there is a way to change layer scrolling shortcuts. I know that default ones are Alt + [ or ] to scroll  through layers, but unfortunately my country's keyboard does NOT have [ and ] keys. Therefore I am unable to quickly scroll through my layers. So I went into the keyboard shortcuts menu and searched it over and over again and couldn't find the these two shortcuts.

I should change the keyboard setting in Windows, but changing the keyboard setting on my computer is not an option here, because I've been using my country's keyboard + translated version of windows my whole life. Even if I did change the the keyboard to English one in Windows, I still wouldn't know on which keys certain symbols.
