Does anyone know of a plugin or some other means with which I can plot the RGB and/or luminance values of a pixel scanline?
So I would like to make a single-row pixel selection, then call that plugin and get a curve plot of RGB vs. pixel count; really pretty basic.
recently obtained photoshop limited edition. I like the 'scan line' effect on images people have used with full edition copies of photoshop and wondered if a plugin somewhere exists to make it available to the limited edition?

How can I make an imported scan of a line drawing "transparent" and add color fills to various sections, using the freehand tool ? I have done this many times with an older version of CorelDraw, but in CorelDraw- x5 the
imported scan includes a white background (even when I select NO FILL), so that my freehand tool selections are either on top of, or hidden behind the white background.
How to beef up my line weights when plotting. I am opening and plotting the same files as the previous drafts person but all my line weights are plotting the same. I am thinking that he had something set up in his profile that set the line weights when plotting??
View 8 Replies View RelatedI have noticed for many years (since ADT 2006...) that the OTB line weights seem to plot the same. For example, I don't notice much difference (actually none at all) on paper between A-Sect-Thin, A-Sect-Med, A-Sect-Fine, A-Dtl-Fine, etc... I have always remedied this by adjusting the Global Line weights, which I know is not optimal and I tell everybody else in my firm not to do it.
That being said, some of the more "seasoned" architects who are trying to use ACA are having trouble getting the line weights to print as they would have hand drawn them years ago. It has inspired me to take another stab at understanding this issue and trying to determine how it is intended to be used, and what I am doing wrong.
I have gotten the office to use the OTB - AIA LWT By Object.ctb, which I would assume coincides with the OTB AEC styles / objects. Can some one explain this to me or tell me where I am going wrong? I have the "Plot Object Lineweights" checked in the plot dialogue box, and honestly have checked and unchecked the "scale lineweights" box and notice no difference.
I'm having trouble plotting a symbol over a line. For example, I'm doing a corner record and need to put our symbol for a set pipe on the corner of the property line. Our symbol for a pipe is just an open circle. I want to put the circle on the corner and do not want the the property line to be shown inside that circle. Essentially I want to make it look like I trimmed the line inside the circle but I want to leave the line intact so there is no gap in the boundary. What is the way to do something like this?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a drawing with the floor plan as an xref. I added the plumbing on top of the xref. My problem comes when plotting. When I print the drawing to the plotter, since the plotter is black and white only the lines of the plumbing come out darker than the xref. But I also need a pdf copy in black and white, but when I change the settings to greyscale all the lines look the same in terms of darkness.
Additional info, the xref is grey and the plumbing layer line color is dark purple.
So I'm doing an installation drawing for a piece of equipment and I'm having an issue. Let's say I model a cube, put it in a viewport at a isometric view in "hidden" visual style. Several of the edges are plotting significantly darker than other edges on the cube.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am using 2008 and have been using AutoCAD for 25 years, so this is not me! Some months ago when plotting, all my plots started coming out very feint as if all the line weights were very thin - this just happened overnight. I couldn't sort this but I have an older pc using 2005 linked to my main one, and I could plot using this one as normal (I did try installing later versions on the main pc but all plots were the same). Now, the same thing seems to have happened with the older pc but in a different way, again overnight (last week all was well) - colours have altered slightly and line weights are all plotting as default. I haven't installed or uninstalled anything, nothing has changed.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with plotting line thickness, when I use the company setup using a d-size B&W.pc3 and mono chrome.ctb files, i can't seem to get the plotter to show line thickness. But using the same setup with a customer border, I can get the line thickness.
Also I not sure if this makes a difference, but the company plots from model space and where most of our customers use paper space.
I’m a student in a land surveying program using AutoCAD Civil 3D 2012. When I try to plot my DWG to a PDF my line weights are not plotting accordingly to the layers. For instance, Layer 1 is set at 0.7mm line weight, Layer 2 is set at 0.3mm but when it plots to PDF they all look similar. I have double checked the options on the plotting screen and I can get the line weights to plot correctly on different drawings with similar settings. I’m wondering if the issue has something to do with the fact that the particular lines that are not plotting accordingly are parcel segments.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using Civil 3D 2011 because of a contract. Monday I created the View Frames and cut the sheets. As of this morning everything was printing properly. Over the day I added alignment labels to the sheets and other call outs, and now the Match Line text is not printing.
I have moved the match line object to the top of the drawing order, double checked the layer to verify that it is not set to no plot, and verified that the xref with the match line is on the top of the drawing order.
Attached is a screen capture of the corner PDF I plotted.
We have been trying to plot some 3D objects in our drawing with a hidden line. We need the drawing to not show the hidden 3D lines but to show the edge lines of the object to plot as a hidden line.

Then we use "OBSCUREDLTYPE=1" then the missing object display but other all lines get too dark in the same drawing .

I'm trying to plot a line weight defined by a CTB Plot Style, but the weight will not show in AutoCAD or print.
Here's what I've done;
-Set the line weight in the Plot Style Table Editor, Color 9 @ 0.40mm. Grayscale has been turned on.(All other settings have been left as default)
-Tried various combos like;
-selecting "Display plot styles" & "Plot with Plot Styles" in pg setup
-selecting the "Plot object lineweights". (It also turns off "plot with plot styles" and prints in color (though grayscale is on)
-LWDISPLAY has bee turned on
-Neither model or paper space reflects the change.
-Line types work fine
-Changing the same line thru the Properties Manager does the trick, but I would like to set it up properly thru the Plot Style
Back Ground Info;
-Both the dwg file and Plot Style are new and created from scratch.
If it was a printer issue, it would still show in AutoCAD correctly, right? I've searched various help tools, but seem to be going in circles.
I have a 3D model. I'm making drawing view, using "create view" task. Now, when i got my view in layout, I choose "edit view" and set appearance to "hidden lines". Ok. When I plot my drawing, i get all lines with the same line weight - visible and invisible lines are all the same weight. How can I make invisible (hidden) lines to be plotted thinner, while visible lines stay thick? Do Autocad 2013 have this option to make it available to change?

Is there anyway of plotting a cad drawing from the model view screen so that certain linescales show? At the moment when I plot it will show hatched items without the outlines.

When working in a paperspace layout and trying to plot or print by window or display, I get a partial print or nothing at all. Typically, I will get a partial print showing the drawing above a diagonal line. This has plagued me through many versions of Autocad.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a record plat drawing with multiple parcels and parcel styles. For my lands of the grantors I view port froze the lots and right of way layers from my parcel styles. I don’t want to show them in this viewport. To my surprise the lines show up in the object layer we have set for parcels. This was not the case in 2011. We are in 2014 with the first hotfix update. I understand putting the parcel styles in the object layer, but why another mysterious line under it? I did create parcels from objects, but had them erased when I created them. This did not matter either way. Is there a way to get rid of them? I did put them in a new layer, set it to “No Plot” This kept them from plotting, but I really don’t want to have to take the time to do it.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to plot a drawing with a 3d shape and a title block around it. I would like for the occluded lines to not be drawn therefore I'm using the hidden visual style and set shade plot to hidden as well.
My problem arises from the quality of the plot to PDF versus the quality coming out of a printer. It is just a 8.5x11 page. The pdf comes out with horrible anti-aliasing and jagged lines, whereas the print is entirely smooth. Is there something simple I'm missing? It would be even better to find a way to make the plot to PDF come out in vector format! I know it is possible to show the layers and have them vectorized in a PDF... How is this done?
I'm keen to reduce into A4 equivalents. I was told Photoshop would be able to cope,
I need to use layers and canvas size etc. and maybe dragging across assuming I've scanned the two halves of the A3 correctly/accurately?
I upgraded from CS3 to CS5 and need to be able to import using TWAIN so that I can scan at 256 colors like I used to be able to with CS3. I cannot convert to 256 colors afterwards as the quality is too poor.
I am using 64 bit Windows 7. I tried installing the TWAIN plugin in the Adobe/plugins/import folder but it does not show up in the import options after restarting PS. I wouldn't mind downgrading to PS3 if I have to.
