When I try and create, move or copy an image file, I receive an error message indicating that ?...I don?t have sufficient permissions...? Does anybody know how to overcome this issue?
I am using OSX 10.8.3, Adobe Bridge CS5 and Photoshop CS5.I ran repair permissions from disk utility, and now the results are inconsistent in that if I use bridge to drag & drop a file from the desktop to a folder on the desktop it work ok. but is I dark and image file from the HD to a folder on the hard disk I get an error message that I dont have permissions to do that. (image 1)
and if I dark an image file that is on the desk top to the hard disk, but not to a folder on the hard disk, I get a circle with a strike through (not allowed) (image 2. dam the screen capture as that cursor and that circle with astrike through did not capture, but I am trying to drag the image to the hard disk not a folder)
problems is, Photoshop is running so smooth now, I dont want to have to re install it all, as I have to spend time getting the filters right (as there is some incompatibilities between and extensis extensions and NIK filters and Onone filters.
My problem is with Vista Ultimate and the printing picture package. When I go to save new picture package templates, Vista gives me a message that I do not have permission to save to that file. If I right click on the Photoshop Icon when I open it and open it as an administrator (which I am listed as an administrator in the users section anyway) it will then allow me to save my picture package templates, but then I lose the ability to drag files into the template or into Photoshop. I am restricted to opening everything from the menu, which is a real time eater. Otherwise everything seems to be smooth with Vista.
I am trying to install a script (.mxp) (Windows). When I double click the .mxp file the Adobe Extensions Manager CS4 opens but I get a permissions error. "You do not have appropriate permissions.." I am the administrator and I have made sure the file has full permissions. I have tried to move the file to different locations also.
I'm unable to point CS6 to the alternate scratch drive despite changes in permissions. I noticed my boot drive (C:) is actually Disk 1, not Disk 0, and my scratch disk (internal) is Disk 0. I can select an external drive (I:) with no issues, but that is a 2TB drive I use for data. So, I'm curious whether the mix-up with the boot disk order has anything to do with CS6 not being able to access the disk I want to designate as the scratch disk?
Had a problem with my RAID1 HD's and windows 7 went to check and repair my HD. There were some things with indexes, related to lightroom fixed. Kind of logical as I was working in Lightroom when the problem occured. Â After restarting Lightroom 4 refuses to open my catalog. It states the catalog is not writable and cannot be opened, could be because of incorrect permissions. Strangely enough, although I run a backup weekly there is no backup folder on my HD, or better said only a backup folder with a file that's a couple of years old. No use. (should have checked this earlier... obviously) Â How to get my catalog back up and running again? I can open Lightroom with a new catalog, but then I've lost a lot of work... Â the basics: Windows7 home premium, Lightroom 4, catalog on internal HD which is in RAID1 (mirror), lightroom programme on SSD
I have all the permissions (administrator), catalog file is not 'read-only', run as administrator did not make any difference.
I am in the process of deploying CorelDraw X5 to about 20 users in my company. Â The options I have available are to use Group Policy, SCCM 2007, or a couple of 3rd party programs. Â The specific users which this deployment will be advertised to will basically be using it as a CDR / EPS viewer only. In fact, we do not want them to be able to edit anything and save or export it.
Given the above, her are my two questions:
1. Â What are my options for deploying CorelDraw over the network? Â I saw the trial uses an installer, but have the image of the disc which I may use too. Â Neither have MSI files, though.
2. Â Are there any methods for controlling security of certain users / workstations on what the can or cannot do in CorelDraw? Â An administrative template for Group Policy would be ideal. We really just don't want them to be able to save - however - the file must be viewed, then sent by them so the idea of a Share set as Read Only wouldn't work.
We are trying to secure our drawings using regular NTFS folder/files permissions on a Windows 2003 server. The goal is to let users save changes to dwg files but NOT delete files or move them. We are trying to prevent accidental deletion of files.
We have created a group which is assigned all rights on files except "Delete". Unfortunately, this does not work because upon saving a file, ACAD deletes the original file of a network drive and recreates it with new/updated one. AutoCAD requires the "Delete" trigger.
Is there a method or a work around we could use to aid us on the task? All other programs like Creative suite, Office applications, various graphic programs work wonderfully with the permissions in place but not AutoCAD Architecture 2008. From what i've read this issue dates back to the dates of AutoCAD 14.
Our files are very valuable and there are LOTs of them. We can't be the only firm that values their files and not have dealt with this issue.
purchased the 5.5-upgrade to 6.0 Designpremium. Everything seems to work properly except the bridge, wich won't start as stand-alone - works only as Mini-bridge inside photoshop. Â While trying to start the bridge from photoshop ("go to bridge") results in a bridge's crash... Â In my former installations (5.0 and 5.1) everything was ok ...
After opening Bridge CS6 (and using mini Bridge), there are no thumbnails showing. I've pointed Bridge to just one folder with less than 5 photos in it and it cannot even display them. I'm running a recent Mac Pro with 16GB RAM and kick graphics card.
Open an .AI file saved on a netapp or windows shared directory with full permissions (prior to saving I noted that all security groups are intact in file properties as we have 2 for read and write access)Make any changesTry to save and get the prompt: Can’t save preview, but all other information was saved successfully. The file couldn’t be found. ID = -43 (file is now corrupted and looking in security group file properties the 2 security groups designated for read and write access for the directory is now gone and shows an unknown security group????)
Save as works without a problem. Try to press save again and get This file has been modified outside Illustrator. Do you want to continue?Continue and prompted This file cannot be foundObviously the file preview icon goes from a thumbnail of the file to a generic iconWhen I try to open the file I get: Can’t open the illustration. The file is locked or in use.It led me to believe the issue was either OS X or CS5.5. I was able to open the file fine on Windows Illustrator CS5.5 make a slight change and resaved (which fixed the file and opens again in OS X and read/write security groups show up again?)Optionally, I was also able to fix the file to where I could open it in OS X by simply giving myself Read/Write access to the file from Get InfoÂ
Notes:No issues with the same file in 10.7.x.
I've tested on all available Mac Pro / MacBook Pro machines and issue doesn't seem to happen on MacBook Pro retina?Photoshop and InDesign not affected
Whenever I try to open the Brushes panel, the Bridge window pops up. I know that Bridge is a media manager, so I'm not sure why is it opening. I really need to edit the brushes and I can't find a way to do it. Is there a way to disable bridge or another way to open the brushes panel that won't open bridge?
I think after using a trial for Illustrator in which CS6 bridge was attached I managed to overwrite Bridge CS5. AM I able to use Ps CS5 and Br CS6 together or do I have to look to re-obtaining Br CS5 ?.
I watched the CS4 introductory webcast this morning, and I gathered from it that you don't get Bridge anymore when you buy only one application, like Photoshop.
Can someone shed some light on that? I'm probably wrong on this. When the matter was raised in the webcast, there was a slight, but noisy, car collision in the street here, so I may have missed the context.
It seems that my Bridge has started unstably. I'll give the symptoms and maybe someone can point me in the right direction for repair. My system: Vista Ultimate, Duo CPU, 1.5 & 1.5 GHz, 4G RamBridge v. 2.1.1.9CS3 v. 10.0.1 1. It crashes on a fairly regular basis.2. When an image view has been rotated , (say from landscape to portrait) many times when I go back to Bridge (after closing and restarting) images do not view as originally rotated. But, when I go to rotate them again, they over-rotate. In other words they were in the correct view (portrait) just did not appear that way.3. Many times, after editing an image, the little symbol that indicates that settings were changed, do not appear. These are just examples. Would it be helpful to uninstall and install again?
I am new to Photoshop CS2 having upgraded from 7. My problem is organization. I use photos for everyday work, ( I am a landscape designer), I have portfolio pictures, family pics and creative, personal photos. I would love if someone could direct me to info or a book that deals with using the bridge as an organization tool as I am really having trouble finding a good method for organization so that I can actually find my pics!
When I try to load updates, I am informed that I must close cs5.5 bridge. I then do so. I then try to load but am informed that cs5.5 bridge needs to be closed.
Having been using Photoshop CS5 with Bridge CS5 happily for sometime, we've now purchased InDesign CS6 which has installed Bridge CS6.Can I uninstall the now redundant Bridge CS5Â without upsetting Photoshop?
Before I installed CS6, I removed CS6 Beta and my copy of CS5 using tools provided by Adobe. When I run Bridge, I notice that for each of the Open With apps shown, they are listed twice.
When I choose a JPEG or raw photo it opens with no problem, but when I open a PNG, I have to choose open with since my Mac will open it in PREVIEW. When I choose open with PS, it loads and opens a second Photoshop even though I have it open already.Â
. I uninstalled CS5 X fully and proceeded to download my new CS6 X. It turned out to be Photoshop 7, no problem, everythingI’ve tried seems to work BUT I cannot find Bridge. Where is it and/or how do I activate it?
