Photoshop :: Creating 1 Bit Depth TIF File
Jul 3, 2008I tried the solution given in another message to change the doc to BITMAP mode and greyscale. When I open the file to work on it, CS2 says its CMYK / 8 bit. Is the file truly 1 bit depth? Our scanning software won't allow the creation of templates on any other color depth.

Aug 15, 2012Working on an image this evening and needed to do some pixel level editing, and noticed two issues, they may be just on my system.

First, going to the navigator panel and select the zoom percentage, then using the up arrow to increase the zoom factor - the percentage value increases but the zoom does not work - for example my image is zoomed to 100% in the edit window, highlight the percentage zoom, increase the zoom amount using the up arrow to say 170% - but the image stays at 100%

Second, once you zoom to say 500% instead of seeing a highly pixelated image I see the suit material - like we saw before but cannot remember the bug that was being discussed. This maybe a driver issue - but just upgraded to the latest driver for the Intel 40000. Update at a zoom factor of 495% I see a pixelated image - at 520% and greater I see the suit fabric - yes sometimes for portrait retouching I do work at 500% ort higher

Feb 9, 2008When typing text, the text is blurry and broken up and very hard to see what's going on. But as soon as I accept, or hit return then it's clear as a bell.

May 23, 2012I have a surface made up of gradings and feature line that I had to come back to and edit. I picked the surface and selected go to source file and when I got there one of my infill's has gone missing and the surface has a big hole in it. The weirdness is the sheet file that refs it does not have the hole. What is that all about.
P.S. Editing a surface built up like a Rube Goldberg contraption is no fun at all. Glad my best practices are coming along since Â

CorelDRAW X5 :: Putting Outline And Depth On Vector File
Mar 27, 2012Recently I have been making cloisonne pins and was referred to Vector Files. I take a bitmap and use the trace outline to either detailed or clip-art depending on which looks better.Â
My problem occurs after my artwork is finished and needing to create a general outline of the object to show what the border of the pin would be. I am also trying to provide a look with the slightest bit of depth to show how the impression of the lapel pin should look.
3ds Max :: How To Save Pixel Depth Reading To Image File
May 23, 2012I would like to somehow save the depth reading (in mm or inches) at each pixel of the image through a camera viewport. Currently, I'm using this script to save each reading in inches to a text file but it is really slow. I've learnt that OpenEXR can save a single floating-point channel image. Are there a faster way that I can save all the readings (in mm or inches) to .exr file or other format that support 32 bits single channel? If not, is it possible to scale the output (grayscale) floating point reading in exr to mm. (are they linear?) given that I set the minimum/maximum zdepth range.

Illustrator :: Screen Anomaly When Using Pencil Tool (AICS5)
Dec 16, 2012Since upgrading to a new iMac, I see a flickering square at the cursor, when editing a path using pencil tool and Wacom tablet. Specifically, it appears when holding "Cmd" and selecting a path or "Option" dragging along a path to simplify the path. I captured a screen video and to my surprise, the square did not appear. In it's place is either a red or black circle. I am guessing these circles are part of the AI interface that I do not see on screen. I have not found any preference or documentation about them. Review this video. You'll see the circle, but not the flickering square I see on my screen.

I've left the import up for more than 5 minutes (someone mentioned that LR4 is slow): I never got the import done.Â

When I click the "X" at the end of the import thermometer, I get a message (in that location) that the import is canceled. The display in the main window (where the image would appear) still says "importing files". I have to quit LR4 and start it up again to do anything else.

I was previously using LR3.6, that used to work fine. I tried going back to LR3.6 to import some files I recently shot: now LR3.6 does the same thing as LR4 (hangs when I try to import Nikon Electronic Format files).Â
