View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been using Elements 7 with great satification for several years now, but recently, the picture thumbnails started to show up as an hourglass icon. I updated to Elements 11 and still had the same problem. I followed some direction I found online for eliminating the catague cache, and it fixed the problem in 11, but not in 7. Till I learn to use 11, I would like to continue to use 7, so how do I fix this problem in Elements 7?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI love tethered Shooting but as default (at least for Nikon) Lightroom does only save the file on the computer, not on the memory card.
Now I want to have a backup of the image file on the memory card additionally to downloading it. The tethering software digiCamControl can do this with my camera, so it is technically possible.
So how can I achieve this using Lightroom tethering?
Why would psd thumbnails all of a sudden start not showing up as thumbnails, just as psd icons?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have been having an issue with files from my D800 when opening them in Photoshop CS6. I should note that this issue has never been a problem with any other camera that I have owned and used with CS6 (D3200, D7000, D80, Kodak Pro SLR N, Hasselblad H3D).
When attempting to open a number of files, ONLY from the D800, I seem to be limited to 10 or 11 files max. Once it loads that quantity I get an error message that it is out of resources. I had chalked it up to the tif files that I typically work with being 16-bit files at a little over 200MB each just being too large to open in any higher quantity.
Last evening I shot a graduation party for a friend and had inadvertently set the camera to shoot "basic" (lowest possible quality) jpg's at a file size of about 3MB each (still 7830 X 4912px). When I tried to load them into photoshop to do some dust clean-up and a few minor tweaks I was surprised to find that it still would only open 10 files before giving me the same error message.
how you may have adjusted settings in either the camera or in CS6 to resolve this issue. Again, it has never been an issue with any other camera I have used, and the Hassy is 39MP so file size shouldn't be the problem. It seems to be something in conflict between photoshop and files from that specific camera. To further elaborate and head off the next question, yes, this seems to happen with other D800's as well as I have rented a couple of others while this one was at Nikon for warranty repair and those cameras had the same issue with CS6.
I initially had the issue with Photoshop CS5 not being able to recognize RAW files from my Nikon D800. I managed to sort-it-out by installing the RAW Plug in 6.7 hence now CS5 opens up the RAW files from D800.
However, now I'm faced with the different issue. I see a significant drop of image quality when RAW s are opened in CS5. The images looking stunning with in D800 display screen looks very dull and flat when opened in CS5. No where close to the brilliant colors shown in the D800 preview.
How do I update my cs5 so that it works with my new Nikon D800?

I have tried to update ACR to the latest version but can not tell if this has been successful
I just get the message "wrong type of file"
I just upgraded from 12 to x5 and for some reason it looks like Corel has chosen to make the file default to only showing the page as the thumbnail. Whereas before the entire file was displayed in thumbnail. This would work fine as long as you only want to keep your design elements all within the page frame, but I don't know one Corel Designer that does that. (only Word and Publisher users do that because they have to)
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just shot my first batch of RAW images using the new Nikon D800. When I downloaded the images using Bridge the thumbnails in the download dialog shows the images. But after download the images are not being shown. Instead I get an icon. If I double click on an image I get a message that camera RAW doesn't recognize the file and a recommendation to update.
I have checked updates from within Bridge and from Photoshop and both tell me that everything is up to date. Photoshop tells me the camera RAW plug in is 6.6 and that is the latest shown on the Adobe download page. According the the information page 6.6 is compatible with the D800.
Tried importing files from memory card with pics taken in both JPEG and RAW. Imported JPEG's but not the RAW pics. It has accepted RAW files before. First time using Nikon D800 camera.

But after I restore my iMac with the latest time machine file. CS5 cannot open the RAW file for D800 anymore, I try to install the latest RAW file version 6.7 for CS5, but when I click to check the RAW support version in CS5, it keeps showing version 6.6.
When importing JPEG from Nikon D800 nothing happens - screen remains blank.Went back to my provious version (Photoshop CS6) and it worked fine.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble tethering my Nikon D800 to Lightroom 4.4.
Attempts at tethering mostly produce "No Camera Detected" after File > Tethered Capture in Lightroom. There have been some occasions however when the camera was detected and tethering functioned for a short while.
These successful occasions happened using the same approach and equipment.I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit Version 6.1 (with i7) and both camera and Lightroom have been updated.
Lightroom 3.6 64 Bit does not import/open RAW-Files of the camera Nikon D800. What can I do?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I use Lightroom 3.6 with pictures from Nikon D800, the lens profile for the Mikro Nikor 60 mm lens is not in the list of coice. However, when the picture is from a Nikon D5000, the same lens appears in the list. So, a lens profile exists, but is not open for pictures from the D800. The same is true for the 18-200 mm lens, which however is not suited for the D800 due to heavy vignetting at wide angle, and with the 70-300 mm, which gives good results.
