Photoshop :: How To Record Coordinates
Apr 7, 2013In Photoshop CS6 Extended (Win7 64-bit) how can I use the Ruler Tool to not only record the angle and length of a given measurement, but also the beginning and ending coordinates?
And on a related note, is it possible to edit the fields beneath the Label column in the Record Measurement log; e.g., rename Ruler 1 to AB, Ruler 2 to CD, etc.

Feb 2, 2009I made an action that I have to use for many images. The action creates an image, saves it, then closes it. The problem is when I try to run the action, it saves over the previous image. Instead of making new files, it just saves over the same one over and over. Is there a way to make it automatically save in succession?? (image001, image002, image003, etc.).

Jan 16, 2009I'm trying to create an action which places my logo layer on the image in the corner. I have used the Align menu commands in the action, which aligns it to the edge. However, I would like to nudge the layer a few pixels in so that it's not completely at the edge. No matter what I try, I can't get the nudge events to get recorded into the action.

Sep 21, 2013I'm trying to make some recordings/actions, which I've done alot before, but I can't get all of my blending options to record. Specifically the curves to my bevel & emboss and my contour....after playing the action, it will apply the DEFAULT bevel and won't remember any of my gloss contour settings.
I'm trying to make these actions universal, however when I select a layer to modify, it records the name of the layer I click on...so if i use the recording later on a different file and it doesn't have that same layer name, then the action won't work...

Oct 15, 2013I'm trying to record a brush mode setting (eg clear,normal, behind) in an action.
But photoshop doesn't record anything when i click on the brush mode setting (it does record the brush when i click on it in the tool bar) Tools like the color picker also do not record, so the problem goed farther then just the brush mode setting.
I'm running Photoshop CC on a Wacom Cintiq Companion on Windows8.
Photoshop :: Action To Record WHERE On Canvas A Layer

I have a bunch of PSD files of some pretty expensive rings that were shot at hi-res and cropped.
Now, i have a canvas that is 996x1104 px.
All of these rings must sized to 540px width AND positioned on the canvas at x:498px and y:706 (the bottom of the layer must touch 706px, which I did by clicking on the little tiny box at the bottom of the little square made of little squares (that's next to the x and y positions when you are on Transform mode).
I made an action for all of these steps.
However, when I batch a group of these hi-res ring PSDs and apply the action, they are always in different spots. They all need to be set on y:706px so it looks like they are all resting on the same plane.
I found out why this is happening:
because when I position the ring when creating the action, Photoshop records HOW MUCH in pixels I moved the layer... NOT WHERE ON THE CANVAS IT'S POSITIONED.
This is what I need: to have Photoshop record WHERE on the canvas the layer is positioned.

Apr 29, 2011I am trying to record an action for a simple white frame, to add to some photo. the way I do it, is first change the background layer to a layer 0, then (image/canvas size then put it at 5% relative, then control click the layer thumbnail to select the picture only, then (edit/stroke...width 20%...color white... location outside, (select/deselect, and I go to the layer blending mode to add a drop shadow. finaly save as jpg. stop recording.
But when I open the jpg file, the extention of the canvas is white and not transparent it show white. What can I do to have the canvas extention transparent as a jpg file ?

Nov 1, 2011I've just started using LR 3.5, I've used a 30 day trial and read lots of tutorials before installing so I have a fair idea of how it works.
My problem is that I have several thousand images on DVD. I've started to import them into LR but once the DVD is taken out LR does not remember the volume name of the DVD, so if I am looking for a picture I am unable to see which DVD is it on, just that it is on my D:/ drive.
I have not had this problem when using an old version of Photoshop Elements or a free cataloging software that I have used.So, is there a way to tell LR to record the volume name without using a work around such as adding keywords when importing?

Nov 29, 2013I am trying to record an audio track in Premire Pro CS6 and cannot seem to get it to work.
I have a USB microphone that funcations fine, I can see the levels in Premiere and it reconds well in other programs. When I sletect my track for recording I can see the levels in the Audio Mixer, but when I press Record then Play the levels do not transfer over to the Master track and after I stop recording the audio does not get tracked, it was like it didn't record.

Jun 25, 2012I cannot record into a HP laptop with win7. VX3using. I can do it with another one using Vista. What could the problem be? Using Canon HV 20. What sould the setting be? It plays and I can control the camera with VX3. But after I test for 30 seconds it says "cannot save file corrupt" or somethong to that effect.

AutoCAD Map 3D :: Database Link Only Generates One Record?
Jul 21, 2011I have been working on some drawings when I linked up to a database that I had recently generated. I wanted to link some polylines to an external MS Access database so that I would have the additional object data available in the drawing. I attached the Access database, then created a link template on the key field (key field is called PipeID). I then used the "mapod2ase" command to generate the links based on the link template. However, when I went into the object properties to check on the data, the only field that came up under the link was the key field (PipeID). I have tried re-linking a number of times, but each time I only get the key field in the object data. I can open the table itself from the task pane, and it shows all of the fields, and the links work because the highlighting feature works as normal, but the data is not showing up in the properties.
I was thinking that I may have reset some sort of system variable on accident, so I made the same sort of link to an older table that I have used before. When I link to this table, all of the linked data shows up in the object properties. The only real difference between the two access databases is that the one that works was made in Access 2000, and the one that is not working was made in Access 2007. Is there some sort of problem when linking to the newer versions of Access? (see this post:[URL]

Apr 25, 2013Coming from 2012, we had source and record areas. These were green and red respectively. Which was very easy to keep multiple source and record areas available. How is this functionality reproduced in 2013?
The reason I ask, is that I have just been adding rec area clips and now I have a lot and I don't know what to do with them. In 2012, I save the record area to the library and then make a new rec area. That way I know my very important masters are safe. How do I do this in 2013?
