Photoshop :: Adding Text To A Winding Road
Aug 8, 2012I have a pic of a friend of mine riding his motorcycle on a winding road. I was trying add his name to the road behind him and make it look like it was painted on the road. I tried to draw a path down the yellow center line and type text but could not really get the right perspective. I also tried just doing individual letters and transforming them (distort, skew, perspective, etc) but I cannot seem to get them to look correct. By themselves they look ok, but not really in line with the other letters around them. I've tried looking for tutorials but I cannot come up with anything. I do not doubt that I am just not searching the correct terms or something.
Is there any easier way to do what I am wanting to do?

Jan 30, 2013running an assembly in to the road corridor and creating a surface. i have designed a network of Roads in CIVIL 3d in which whole network is surrounded by a Loop road. The loop road cross fall is unidirectional (2%) and 4.5 wide. I have used LaneOutsideSuperWithWidening subassembly to create the assembly of the road. This doesnt contain any kerb or footpath but only road channel lines, The corridor run soomthly but after creating the of the loop road corridor the surface is becoming flat meaning there isn't any cross fall acoss the road but in the assembly crossfall is there. If i run the same assembly in another road alignment the suface is coming absolutely correct.
I also tried different road assemblies to run along the loop road but the result is same no cross fall across the road.

My street plan is kind of busy with a several call-out/label, leader etc. I want to set my my station for both major and minor with with decimal to read as 1+00 or 1+ 50 as opposed to 1+00.00... Nov 19, 2012I have make a road network. Then i make a corridor surface using corridor extends as outside boundary. I also create a boundary in the interior side of the roads with interactively tool, and i use it as a hide boundary. The corridor surface look fine but when i am trying to make a finish Ground Surface pasting the corridor surface after Existing Ground surface then the hide boundary of corridor surface make holes in finish Ground surface.

Seems to do it for anything that is not left aligned. I think it was present in 2013 as well. I use multileaders for annotations a lot since it is easier to use them with the background masks and borders than mtexts.

Oct 9, 2013I am having difficulty in creating a surface for my road in 3d at this section, the points given are along the center lines and so far have been fairly straight forward for the fall of the road as there have been no junction up until now.
I am not using 3dpoly at this point, just plain old lines.

Feb 27, 2013I am new to Civil 3D and need to customise the look of road profiles so they look like they were produced from any of our other civil design software packages that we use (to maintain standards between offices etc).
The attached picture is what I need them to look like. I want to show both the natural ground (the dotted line) and the design road line (solid). Then I want to write on the profile the station, natural level and the design level.
I've got the Mastering Civil 3D book (and a few others) sitting on my desk.I worked out how to turn off the grid on the default profile althoguh that was about it.

Jul 20, 2012So today I was creating a road centerline to make into an alignment. The road has many curves. So I was making circles and connecting them with lines while snapping from tangent to tangent. So far, so good.
Went I go to trim the circles using the lines I drew tangent to tangent, it says that there are no intersecting edges. WTF? When I zoom way in, the line is not touching the circle. Now, I know that visually that is NBD. When I run a distance check, snapping from endpoint to perpendicular, there is a measurement of zero. UGH!
So to get work done I've been having to break the circle and the 2 points, then erase the rest. This is such a PITA and I've never had anything like this happen.
P.S. I'm running Civil 3D 2013.
The top line is the circle, the bottom is the line tangent to it.

3ds Max Modeling :: Civil View Yellow Road Arrows
Jul 11, 20133DS Max Design 2014 I am trying to get shaded Yellow road arrow markings. I added the markings to the resource kit .. (Diffuse and Opcaity using same image file)
When first used they look correct..
then with some editing to the model and many opens later the image is replaced by a grey block
this is what it looks like in shaded viewport, but still renders correctly
we dont always have time to render to file, we capture screen video. Is there a way to fix this? to get the yellow arrow in shaded viewport - permanently.

Oct 7, 2013I use geophysical software which exports 3D objects to AutoCad in relation to the flat surface - "zero" level. Most often clients want to get results in local height datum (in relation to the road surface which has usually slope and is never perfectly flat).
Is there any method to move all objects automatically and show them in relation to the road surface? Ideally I would like to define road surface with three lines (two side lines and center line). Is there any plugin to AutoCad that can do it? If this operation goes beyond the possibilities of AutoCad, can you recommend me a software (eg. AutoCAD Civil), which automates the process?
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Road Modeling - Grading / Corridors
Dec 2, 2013I am preparing to model a road surface for a waterline project. I would like to be able to generate sections at desired stations showing the sewer, storm drains and joint utility trench along with the proposed water line. My plan is to model the road surface using a surface created from gradings and then create the pipe networks and joint trench.
My question is whether gradings or corridors would be the way to proceed. I have preliminary design data on the road surface which is sure to change.

Jul 18, 2011I am trying to see if there is a way of distributing equally spaced lines along a curved guideline. Now there is a function to make text follow a guideline and curve in all different angles. What I want to do is the same thing but with strait lines. Is there a way to do it?
Let’s say I am doing a little model railroading and want to draw out my topographic layout first. Now think of a set of winding scale model rail road tracks with wooden rail cross tracks between the metal rail tracks. Now if my actual scale is 1 in = 10 ft and each cross track needs to be exactly 4 ft apart and the winding track has several twist and turns over a 200 in range. Because each twist and turn is made to both accomplish the turning of the track as well as to avoid obstacles, using the radius tool may not always be the best bet. In an ideal world the best way would be to take a strait track and distribute the cross tracks at 4 ft increments and then try to bend the track. However this would cause other problems and throw off the scale. The best way would be to align the perpendicular lines to the curvature of the track. Now if the track had several "S" turns, odd angled curves, or complex reverse turns, it would take forever to space the tracks evenly and cross tracks at equal distances all along the track even when using the radius tool or building in sections and then merging lines.
If there was a way to evenly space lines along a curved guide then I would not need to spend hours setting up radius and drawing lines that need to be deleted or cut short. Equal spaced lines can be accomplished along a straight line using the Align/Distribute function. Though this still has problems when distributing along angles let alone along a curve.
I am trying to somewhat avoid the radius function and lean more towards shaping a compound image set between two parallel lines and one or more perpendicular lines.
AutoCAD Civil 3D :: Trimble Export Road Files Corrupted?

when I export a road file to my TS2 it becomes corrupted (file size 50% of what it should be.
4 months ago there was no problem. The weird thing a is that the other worstation in the office has this issue to.
Here's what I have done to troubleshoot: swapped out both data collectorsexported this rxl file to a virtual instrument on my desktoptalked to cansel and autodesk but the said they haven't seen this problem. I can rule out the following.
trimble/autodesk software, hardware ( to much a coincidence that both work stations have this problem)Data Collectors swapped out - file size of the corrupted rxl were the same on the virtual deskto instrumentcorrupted dwg - exported a road six months ago, now re-exported and the new file is corrupted.
Both machines are identical:
Pentium Zeon
16 gb RAM
Identical software installation
