View 5 RepliesI have a .jpg image (just a plain flat image, no layers) which mostly consists of text and one small image; I need to lift the text and the image from the background so I can change the background color, then put the text back again.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a picture of a toy, I want to lift the toy off the background and leave only white space around it.
Here's what I've accomplished so far:
Created new layer Used the rounded rectangle to isolate the toy inverted the image used the magic wand to crop areas that had to go cropped as close to the toy as possible. Now I have the image but it's on this ugly, bits and pieces left over square.
What I'd like to know is: will making the background transparent fix it?
I'm still playing with it and saw a tutorial on transparency, but each time I attempt to do it - the entire image disappears.
I want to lift image from photo and then do transparent background.
Is there any knack of selecting the item from the image cleanly. In my case its a dog. I use the lasso to go around the object but that leaves a 2mm space where the background shows through.
(Is there a way to use the lasso to make a partial selection then remove your finger from the mouse and then continue your selection from where you left off ?)
After I have Deleted the inverted selection I use the Background remover to remove the remaining 2mm of background around the dog.Again is there a knack to using this tool ? I Googled and it said to keep the removal circule half in and half out of the actual image. Also is ther a correct setting in the menu bar for the BG/removal tool..Im just experimenting.
my settings at this moment are.
size 18
Hardness 100
Step 10
Density 100
Thickness 100
Rotation 0
Opacity 100
Tolarance 75
Sharpness 100
Sampling: Continuous
Limits: Contiguous
Boxes not ticked. Auto tollerance and Use all Layers.
Box ticked: Ignore Lightness.
I have split the audio from the video track and I am now trying to "lift" a copy to put through a sound editor. I then intend to replace the original audio track. (or to put on audio track 2 and mute 1). I haven't as yet found a way to lift the audio track and load into a separate file.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm modeling a sanitary sewer network in SSA. The network consists of a gravity system that collects wastewater from several buildings and coveys it to a lift station. Two pumps at the lift station pump wastewater through a 6-inch force main that is approximately 1,300 ft long and it is not connected to any other force mains so no other pumps are pumping into the system. There is one gravity main at the end of the force main that delivers the wastewater to the headworks of the wastewater treatment plant. The pumps are rated at 430 gpm at 75 ft, with a shutoff head of 110 ft.
The problem is that the model says that 1,100 gpm is flowing through the force main with one pump running. This is not possible as the TDH of the pump would need to be 220 ft to deliver that much flow. I'm using a Type 3 curve to define the pump. The force main is defined as "Circular Force Main" with a Hazen C factor of 120 and Manning's n of 0.013.
I've deleted the pumps and curves and reinserted them, but that didn't change anything. I'd like to avoid rebuilding the entire model
I wish to cut out/lift the an object from an image to create on a white background .
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am building a webpage for a photography. They want a black background. They want the pictures to have a "shadow" (not sure what you call it) that would essentially make the picture look like it is floating above the page.
I do not know how to do this. I am open to answers in Photoshop or (although I know this isnt the right Forum) in Dreamweaver.
I am useing a Canon Pro 9000 MKII and when I try to print 11x14 paper, it will not alow custom paper size. The Canon printer driver does have custom size but it does not show up in printer settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using version 7, I'm trying to create a curled paper effect then paste an image on the "paper". A couple of web sites suggested creating a rectangle then create a path or something like that and then using the pen tool and the "handles" manipulate the corners. I'm not sure if I have the terminology correct but the problem is that when I create the rectangle and go to add the path (the icon looks like a circle with handles on it) it's grayed out and can not be selected and manually creating a path with the pen tool doesn't work.

Can Photoshop do this? I don't even have the program yet . . because I need to find out if Photoshop is the best program to do it in.
before when i wanted a 8.5" X 11" size i would just put a piece of paper on my screen and size it up with what i had in PS....i know barbaric right !
the only reason i do that is when i make a new Doc and use a preset " Letter " it pulls up huge on the screen 25% , not actual size.
How can this be done, I like the paper effect style.. if you can do it and save in psd,

View 3 Replies View RelatedHow do I use downloaded ICC paper profiles in CS5 when printing? I have downloaded some ICC profiles for Inkpress papers. They are in my download folder, but when I open CS5 I can't use the Inkpress profiles.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my workflow I often use colourprofiles for uncoated paper such as Euroscale uncoated.Uncoated profiles causes a prewiew problem on screen, since colours are wiewed unnaturally desaturated. This makes it difficult to determine if photos needs to to be adjusted or not.
By convert photos to Euroscale Uncoated, and then assign Euroscale Coated profile on top of this, i get the best from both worlds:The uncoated profile gives me the wanted total ink, and the assigned coated profile gives a natural preview without changing the separation. It works perfekt and makes it easy to match colours on screen to colours on print.
Happiness lasted until I upgraded to CS6:Since the upgrade this workaround does not work. The problem is: When I assign a coated profile on top an uncoated profile, it changes the separation/colour numbers. In other words: the ink limit increases from 270% to more than 330%, which is way too much for the paper.
the problem occur in the moment RGB smart objects are used in the PSD file (which I love to do).If the PSD is a flat CMYK-file, the problem does not occur.
Is it any way to avoid this problem in CS6?For people like me, who every day struggles to get consistent colours on screen and on print, this is extremely important. The way it works in CS6 causes a lot of problems and extra work. I seriously consider to throw out CS6 and reinstall CS5.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to print a 24 x 34 print to an HP Z3100.Everything sets fine in the HP driver, but when it comes back to the Photoshop print dialog box, PS still thinks it's printing to an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet.
How do I get Photoshop to 'listen' to what the printer is supposed to be doing?
I have some art I did back in high school that I recently scanned in. They are just pen doodles that I did on regular lined notebook paper. But on some of the pages I drew on both sides of the page, so when I scanned one side the ink from the other side bleeds through. I'd like to remove those portions but keeping the original lined paper look.
I tried content-aware fill, healing brush, spot healing brush, and more but nothing seems to work quite right. I seem to have the best luck with the patch tool, but for the parts selected close to ink, the replacement patch gets blue ink blur. It's like Photoshop is trying to guess what should go around those edges but all I want is just the plain selected area CS5?
