I'm sure this is a ridiculous question but I'd still like to find an answer. I have just noticed that neither Photoshop CS6 nor Lightroom 5 displays the licensed user name on either the opening splash screen or the Help/About screen. Unless I'm completely mis-remembering they (or perhaps previous versions) used to do so on one or the other screens.
I am currently running the PS CS4 trial version and have the upgrade on order (shipped from so no key until arrival)Can you simply use the trial, as I assume its essentially the software, and enter the key on arival and activate etc (less hassle) or do you need to uninstall and start over? Version licensed: CS3Version ordered CS4 upgrade.
After getting Vault installed on our server and successfully setting up users and connections, I used the Library Transfer Guide to move our Content Center (including custom) to the Vault. I then changed the Inventor Application Options -> Content Center -> Access Options to Autodesk Vault Server.
This seems to have worked, as I can Place from Content Center when in an assembly, and it is pulling standard content as well as our custom files properly from the vault. However, in the instructions that I used for the installlation, it was suggested to stick with a standard folder structure within the Vault, namely two Library Folders named 'Content Center Files' and 'Libraries' and also a regular folder named 'Designs'.
I created those folders prior to transferring the library, as I thought they would be populated with the standard/custom content. This was not the case and I am curious when these folders come into play? *they are empty*
Also, today I will be attempting to 'Check In' a project to the Vault that I recently completed; does this usually maintain structural relationships between files?
Would you recommend using a single project structure in vault for two people? It seems, since we won't be working on the same project at the same time, having a single project would not be relavant to our situation..
I typed in my code or Keygen, what ever you might call it, another screen comes up, which is the User Agreement, I read it all to make sure i do really agree, and I do, I hit accept wait for at least 4 minutes, nothing else happens. Need help, Thanks. This is the first time i used it. By the way this is for PhotoShop CS4 on Windows Vista Home premium.
two of my colleauges opened a photoshop file at the same time and both could make changes. Saving the file kills one person's changes, which actually shouldn't be possible. How can this be avoided?
Photoshop is THE ONLY application that's missing the sweet slider to darken/brighten the user interface. I just discovered that even Illustrator CS4 has this ability, Premiere does, After FX does, so, what's the point? Why can't I darken Photoshop a bit? I think it's a bit more crucial to darken the UI in Photoshop than it is in Illustrator, as you're more likely to perform very sensitive color corrections in Photoshop and anything bright stands in your way,
A friends wants me to reinstall his windows but before i do that he wants me to backup all user changable files of his Photoshop CS, but im not really into PhotoShop so i dont know all the files, can make a list of some files that store the settings and the brushes and stuff?
The template has two user input box (User and Password). I did all the design modifications to the template, but when I want to save it for web, both user input are only images, and the user can't write anything on it.
New to Photoshop and was given v.7 as a gift, I'm trying to add text to a signature I'm makeing but when I select type tool, drag a text box onto my frame I can see any text/type. The box is there but I can't see what I'm typing? the top left corner box flashes and it looks like there are tiny characters in there, although without a magnifying glass you would never see it? how do I add text to my frame?
I created a file for someone using the Photoshop CS6 software, and he has just now informed me that he uses Photoshop Elements 10. The only thing he will need to do with the file, at most, is add layers on top of it. How can I save the file through CS6 for him to open and use in Elements 10?
My user made cs5.1 actions have disappeared after an error message came up as PS was opening. None of the factory or user actions are there, and they were unsaved. Are they retrievable?
Where are the user created actions saved to? It seems that when my computer is restarted that my actions that I've created in CS2 dissapear. In an attempt to fix this (aside from saving my actions) I'd like to see why the IT folks are dumping that folder, or keeping PS from saving the actions I've created.
I'm trying to build an action that makes thumbnails out of images and adds a few effects, but I want it to let me select what area of the image it takes the thumbnail from and making that thumbnail size instead of shrinking the whole thing to 100x100 and losing all the detail. Any suggestions?
Recently the user had crashed his system. So I had to role out a new system for this user, CS3 is part of the image, but Photoshop can not open PSD files unless I run as Administrator(s).
I tried to create some new How Tos in CS3 and recieved the following error message when I try to open it:
"The Adobe Help application could not load a URL because the specified file could not be found. You may need to re-install the application and the help component."
If I access one of the ones created with CS2 it opens (I dragged them over from CS2, I have since removed CS2 from this computer, it's still on my laptop) I haven't tried creating them and importing them to this computer).
I'm using Microsoft Office Word 2003 to save the How Tos as html files, and notepad to edit Add_001.howto file.
Since I gotten this error, I reloaded CS3 Design Standard, it didn't fix the problem. Also I have ensured that the Add_001.howto file points to the right location (C:Program FilesAdobeAdobe Photoshop CS3Helpadditional how to content)and is in the right format: "John Shaws CS3" "47. A GLOSSARY OF IMAGING TERMS" 47.html (works). "Noise Ninja" "The Thirty Second Guide to Noise Ninja" Noise Ninja 001.html (doesn't work)
The only thing new on the computer is a brand spanking new EVGA NVidia Geforce 9500GT PCI express(512 mb ddr2 dual DVI output) with the latest drivers. It replaced NVidia GeForce 6600GS and Matrox Millenium video cards (the Matrox). The new video card does not include some program that allows it to run MS-DOS programs, but I don't feel that is causing the problem.
System Info:
Photoshop CS3 10.0.1

I want to create an action that will take individual pictures and put them on a template, and then ask for user input as to the name, year, etc. How do I get a user input box? If i can't get a user input box,
I had serious corruption issues with the user profile I was using when I setup my CS3, when I created a new user account and tried to open PS it says my licensing is no longer valid... This is rediculous, surely this is a mistake right?
PS11 and the EXACT same problems in PS9. This image shows the black on black problem of many drop-down menus. It doesn't affect all drop-down menus but it affects ALL font-related drop-down menus, and, for example, the adjustsments panel (but others also). Some drop-downs are fine (white on black, as it should be). Some aren't.
Backstory:
A catastrophic UI flaw if ever there was one. I use "catastrophic" because that's an error message I got from Acrobat 9 PX after I had a run in with the FlexSPY monitor Adobe uses on its software, when it didn't let me use Acrobat until I reformatted. The Acrobat 9 dialog said it can't proceed because it had a catastrophic error, and then the number 142:20.
