I have a series of 150 text-based JPEGs I would like to enclose in a container file so that the files remain together and in sequence. Is there someway of doing this? Can JPEG itself be used as a container just as several GIFs can be stored in an animated GIF file.
I am completing a 52-minute program, with 20 short sequences shot in ProRes 422 (50 Mbps) and saved to MXF OP1a files. The package looks good when output to Blu-Ray, but I will need to output for broadcast, and the broadcaster prefers MXF deliberables. My Question: Is there any significant loss of quality by saving 20 MXF files (with dozens of ProRes clips) to a final MXF container?
Having problems with Power Clip "Place inside Container". When I use this effect for some reason the object I select to place inside automatically centers itself inside object.
How do I stop this from happening....is there a way to edit the settings?
I have a sequence contain couple of clips/cuts. I then create a container and save the container in the desktop. What i want to do is to make this container as a 'master' clip so every time i put it into a new sequence, it will create an instance of the master clip. This means everytime i edit the master clip (change edit /trim etc), it will reflect immediatelly in all the instances. Is it possible ? The current implementation, i can only duplicate/copy which then they become disconnected from the 'master' clip. Do i have that options ? This is handy when i want to have managed control of that container.
In a real world, a wall will host a window. In turn the window will require a series of ancillary objects. The moment the window is removed, so are the ancillary objects. The ancillary objects dimensions such as length are driven by the window length. The referencing of the ancillary objects should reflect or know the window number. So there is this direct relationship. Windows to a facade come in all shapes and sizes, but the principle interface details tend to be the same.
It seems to me that the above could almost be achieved in Revit by having a window family and a container family that holds the ancillary items, whether they are 2d or 3d. Each container family contains a different set of ancillary objects to reflect the differences in wall types. Depending upon the window / wall interface, the appropriate set of ancillary items are selected.
To achieve a relationship between the 2 families it appears to me that the container family(families) would need to be nested into each window family defined within a project and then face up to the challenge of linking the various nested parameters. Perhaps a window template being built at the outset of a project containing this process - but this has an impact when working up legends.
It seems to me the alternative would be to locate the family and then locate the container family, going through the whole process of aligning etc as maybe required etc etc, plus the use of instance paramaters that are manually adjusted to reflect the window object.
I use windows, but this could easily be doors, rooflights etc.
What intrigues me is that currently there appears to exist a 'connector' but can only be used by MEP objects. Can this be utilised in some way to connect the 2 families together and act as a conduit for parameter information?
I am trying to fill a cone shape container with particles. Other then Realflow I can not seem to find any tutorials on this. I am currently trying this with Particle flow, i have selected the cone with UDeflector and that works i am also working in pview.
I have problems loading a max file. The file has several containers with external content, and it started crashing on load after I created those containers.
I tried merging the file into an empty scene, and it works if I merge everything but the containers. I also tried merging the containers alone, and that makes it crash.
I need/want to use containers, because the scene is very big, and can be quite challenging to handle. I could try using X-refs instead, but I was hoping to use containers, since it seems like a good solution in theory at least!
Is there a way to resize a powerclip container that keeps the contents at its original size - so you can view more or less of the contents simply by changing the shape of the container?
(Rather than editing the contents or extracting the contents and then resizing the container).
When i click the arrow onto my container, a shape or letters for instance, my image just disappears. i do the exact same procedure in corel x3 and it works so it not user error.
i got a clip (.png) with alpha embedded. so this png is a matte container clip. When i apply resize from desktop tool. The result is a normal rgb clip with no alpha. It's no longer matte container clip. What is the best way to resize it? do i have to open the matte container and resize the rgb and alpha separately ? is there any better or smarter way to do it?
I am trying to calculate the area of our parts. I was trying to do the math my self but I kept getting a lower area than IV. I haver attached a picture of what I get from IV. I have listed my calculations of the angle iron below:
I am using IV Pro 2011 Educational SP1

I'm a newbie trying to create a collage of photos in Lightroom 4 on Windows 8. I've done lots of Lynda.com videos and other tutorials online but am having a problem with the Print module. I can drag my photos onto the print page and resize them without issue, but what I want to do is effectively crop a certain part of the photo to the container size, but only within this print page (I don't want the photo in my library to be cropped).
I hit the Ctrl button and the little hand icon appears (as do the little squares on the edges of the photo for changing the size) but when I drag with the Ctrl button held down, nothing happens - I was expecting the photo to move within the container but it's not. What I'm trying to do is exactly the same thing done (by holding Ctrl) in this video at 1min 11secs: [URL]
1) From LR export to PS 2) Do all essential editings. 3) Save. File become 'xyz.tiff' now. (I want to keep this as master copy) 4) Crop to 4r, Save a Jpeg copy as 'xyz 4r.jpg' 5) PS save it as a copy, but do not automatically open the Jpeg copy. The tiff remains opened. I have to manullay Open, browse to it, and open the Jpeg. The 'Open Recent' list also do not list 'xyz 4r.jpg'. 6) Do 4r sharpening for the 'xyz 4r.jpg', save it.
Basically the files I want to keep and worked on is like this: NEF -> xyz.tiff -> xyz 4r.jpg -> xyz sml.jpg(maybe)
Now, it there a way in step (5) to have PS save the JPEG copy, and automatically open it? I don't care if the Tiff copy remains opened or not, I am done with it.
I got a new computer (Windows 7) at work this April and as of today, when I work on any of my JPEG images in PS CS5,suddenly it has defaulted its "Save As" to JPEG2000. How did this default change and how do I get it to default save as. JPEG again? There was nothing I noticed and no warning as to why this has changed, I didn't touch a thing!
(Last week, Adobe had to work with our IT manager to fix a problem that started occuring with my new Adobe Acrobat Pro 11 program. They had to log into my computer and change a registry thing to get it to work properly again...also something that changed without warning!!)
I'm using a Mac. My windows friend sent me a jpeg of a piece of art we're working on. It looked fine in the web browser. It looked fine in Preview when I opened it, and it looked fine in Photoshop. But when I save it from photoshop after adding just a small thing to the image, the whole thing comes out a bit brighter. I have no idea what's doing it. I've tried Save For Web and Save As and it comes out the same each time. I have played with color settings in the past slightly, but it was my understanding that only affected how photoshop displays the image and I wouldn't expect it to change an image I imported then exported again.
Print to JPEG in LR5.2 produces a corrupt JPEG file that cannot be opened.
Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.
Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
Text is allowed only on the outside of a rectangle shape. The text cursor disappears when I try to enter it into the rectangle and when I place it on the edge of the rectangle, it rurns into a slanted "A" and allows texting on the border of the rectangle. Corel Paint Shop Photo Pro X3 (build date Sept 7, 2010). This software came with my new HP Pavilion dv7.
If I shoot RAW + JPEG, and I add EXIF data to the JPEG files outside of Lightroom, when I import the RAW + JPEG pairs will the metadata I added to the JPEG files still be there?
I'd try it myself, but I don't actually have the equipment to do this right now.
I'm trying to export a JPEG so that the file size is smaller, for use on the web. So the file I have is 1.1 MB. I try to export via LR4 using the percentage slider, but no matter what percentage I use, the file size is always GREATER than 1.1 MB! And if I try to limit the size by inputing a value, say 1000 kb, I get an error message saying I can't do that for some reason:
Also, this is not the case with just one file, it is numerous files.
I want to shoot tethered in studio, and shoot RAW + JPEG, but I want Lightroom to only import the JPEGS so as to improve the speed. I shoot a Canon 7D.
I work at a professional commerical photography studio and some clients ask for not only the image in a .tif format but also a high res jpeg... as embarrassing as this may seem to ask here in this forum but what is the difference other than the compression and if that is the only reason, to me that does not make sense to want both...... am I on the wrong track here , making this more difficult that I should and missing something right in front of my nose?
when i save the file from psd format to jpeg or gif i lose all sorts of color is there a way to fix it? i have it set to the highest quality and all and it still brightens up and loses a bit of color
I am putting together a website for my Aunt who is an artist. I took pictures of her paintings in RAW format (CR2). I open with Photoshop and make minor level adjustments and resize the image to about 800pixels wide by whatever the length of the cropped painting is. I first saved as a jpeg and immediately noticed a loss in color.
The picture lost it's "pop" and a lot of her paintings are "popping" with color. I then tried "save for web" and noticed that the program wanted to save a gif. The gif looked awful because I could see small blocks that looked like pixels in certain areas.
The PNG format looks the best but is about twice the size of my jpegs. Because I need the images to look as good as possible.. would PNG work for the website? or are there settings for saving a jpeg without losing the color? (jpeg preferred because of the file size).
having trouble saving a file as jpeg in photoshop 7.0
I create a random photoshopfile, and save it as i'm used to. With all the standard options, but when i check the file afterwards my computer (internet explorer i mean) cant open the file.
I just get a small red cross and that's it.
But, when i have the project opened in photoshop, and i press print screen, and paste this images in a new photoshop file and save it as jpeg i CAN open it. (ofcourse i can just crop out my image, but this isnt supposed to be)
I have a PSD file that is full quality but when I try to save it as a JPG file, the quality is a little bit less. What I want to ask you is..... how do I to save the image in JPG or JPEG format preserving the quality of the image?
