I do a lot of montage work in PSCS and have recently been using my Wacom tablet and boy do I love it, but have a question for those of you who use tablets.
When I'm doing a montage I use very soft brushes to merge the edges. With my Intuos pen, even though I use a large soft brush setting (same as the one I use with a mouse) I get very pen like lines, so I always end up switching to the mouse. Do I need to do something with either the pen settings or the way I use it, or should I be getting an "airbrush" for this kind of work.
i have a G5 dual and 3 Gig of RAM. why is my tablet making PS so sluggish? when i paint/erase (even a small area) it takes several seconds after i lift the pen before i can do my next edit. it's the only program running and the file only has three layers.
I am a long time gimp user and also a long time intuos user and I just recently got the airbrush pen for my intuos. I am running windows 7 and gimp 2.8. I am trying to figure out how to get the wheel on the airbrush pen to do something like adjust occupancy for example but I cant get any wheel settings to work. I am not sure if gimp recognizes that its a different pen. Any airbrush pen or a pen with a wheel in gimp
Does Xara support this pen or others, and if so, how does it stack up in terms of what types of pens and or tablets some of you are currently using? Secondly, does Xara support video frame rotoscoping at all like Painter does?
OS: Windows 7..I click on the PSCS5 button to start the program. The Photoshop.exe file briefly appears in Task Manager, then disappears. Nothing else happens. No error messages, no warnings, no nothing. I've uninstalled PS and reinstalled it. Trying to get the 12.0.4 patch installed, but since you're supposed to do it from inside the program, I can't run it.I just tried executing with Ctrl+Alt+Shift and it still doesn't want to come out and play.
My problem lies in trying to load a Fred Miranda action in Photoshop.
When I follow these directions that came with the download...
Open Photoshop, go to the actions palette, on the top right of the palette, click on the little triangle (delta) and from the menu choose “load action”. Find where you downloaded the “HR v1.3.atn” file and click on load.
and try to open the folder I've downloaded the file into, there is nothing there. When I back out of Photoshop and go to this same folder (located in My Docs), the action is there along with all my other downloaded plugins.
I start up the program (Photoshop CS) the hand tool is selected. No matter what I try I can not select any other tools at all. I've been trying to self teach myself this program for about 6 months and I've never chosen to use the hand tool at all, so I never intentionally set anything to make it default or anything like that.
I've been using Photoshop CS for a while now, but today I open it up and no matter what I try the only filters that work are some Blur, Noise, Sharpen, Stylize and Other. I've made sure my files are on RGB and it's 16bit...the layers arn't locked or anything. I don't know whats happened?
I have a number of pictures where background is dull or boring while subjects in foreground are lively. So I want to switch the background with lets say a plane color with some gradient to give it a studio appearence.
The first problem I have is to select the foreground subject sharply, much difficut because of hairline etc. So how can I select my subject in the most easy way so that outlines are sharp & none of the details are missing.
I have been having an ongoing problem with Photoshop CS & CS2 on my HP laptop which runs XP Home.
Whenever I'm in Photoshop I can click "Copy" with no problem, however, the instant I click "Paste" - my laptop powers off instantly.
It does not happen in any other program (Excel, Word, Illustrator, etc) - only Photoshop.
The problem originally started when I had CS (yes,it was a legitimate version!). After buying CS2, I uninstalled CS and loaded the brand new legitimate copy of CS2,
I have photoshop CS installed on a G5. Photoshop was working fine, but now some of the default keyboard shortcuts are missing. The one I miss the most is (command, option ~) which should load a luminosity selection. But for some reason no longer works. I've tried reinstalling photoshop. I've tried reloading the keyboard shortcut defaults again. Maybe there is something wrong with my default shortcuts file? but I haven't been able to locate a source where I can download another. In any case i would have thought that the reinstalling the CS creative suite would have resolved the issue if the file was bad.
How do I check my keyboard driver? where is it? wher do i get another?
I have a weird problem with Photoshop CS. When I double-click on a tiff, jpeg, or Photoshop file it launches the program, but it won't open the image. In order to do that I must go to file and choose open. This is much more trouble. I can't figure out why. My photoshop guru friend couldn't figure out why. Any ideas?
Also, and this may or may not be related. When I open the program I get the following message: For Photoshop UI to display correctly, open System Preferences, click General, and turn off text smoothing for font sizes 8 and smaller.
The weird thing is, when I did what message suggested, I discovered that there was no "text smoothing" option to turn off under Preference (under General) in Photoshop. There is no General in the computer's System Preferences, so I'm assuming the message refers to Photoshop Preferences.
Yes, it's been well over a decade since I upgraded from my Wacom Intuos 2 pen/pad, but I think I've finally worn the thing into the grave. It had served me well, so I didn't see need to get any new versions--until now. Â So my question is, what do you recommend as an upgraded improvement? There's newer models of the Intuos pad/pen and there's also Bamboo pad/pens. I'm an illustrator that colors my work in great detail exclusively on Phtotoshop so I'd love to get a pen/tablet that handles all daunting assignments. And because I'm an illustrator, I can't really afford a Cintiq tablet, so I guess an Intuos of Bamboo are my choices.
My ancient Intuos 2 pen still works so-so but it suddenly started delaying and I find I have to tap the pad with the pen to get the cursor to move in the area I want it to. I installed the Intuos 2 driver again but nothing's changed. Yep, time for new tools.
I recently became a subscriber to the creative cloud as well as recently getting a wacom intuos 5. The problem is, my new photoshop cc, does not show that I have a pressure sensitve tablet.
Is there a new driver from adobe that I need to install? I checked the Wacom site and as far as I can tell I have the newest driver available. Also, I do have photoshop cs5.5 could these two versions of photoshop be causing a problem when it comes to the tablet?
When I use the brush tool in CS, it defaults to pressure effecting the brush size. I want the pressure to effect the opacity instead. I have looked all through my brush options, etc.
I have been trying to use a downloaded action that makes text glow like neon. Everytime I play the actions, it tell me that airbrush is not available. I have the text selected, the brush choosen, and airbrush turned on before I hit play.
My Intuos 3 tablet and pen do not perform correctly using CS5. The same machine, using the same tablet and pen and the same brush, with CS3Â and Corel Painter function correctly so I am assuming it's CS5 that's the problem. The brush seems to set an anchor point where the pen first contacts the tablet, then no matter where you draw with the brush nothing happens until the pen is lifted, then a straight line is drawn from the anchor point to the point where the pen lifted. Problem is with CS5 x32 and x64 both. Happens every brush stroke. Mouse works fine. Reset the preference file. Upgraded drivers for the tablet. The machine is an HP, quad core processor, 8 GB ram, with an ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics card. The machine came loaded with Vista 64 and I upgraded to Windows 7 at the time I installed CS5.
my brand new intuos 4 and set things up and start using it; I installed the software and downloaded new drivers the tablet and pen function well enough will the mouse pointer full functionality in windows however none of my express keys or touch ring functions work; same with if I create a new keyboard shortcut button for my pen buttons ie to select the brush tool or "b" I understand this is more of a Wacom issue. I have sent an email into Waxom tech support regarding this and waiting to hear back.
Very light paint strokes on my Wacom Intuos 3 produce a full force stroke in CS4 every 3 to 15 strokes. Anybody else have this problem? This does not happen with CS2. Also, using the Wacom diagnostics, I can make endless light strokes and never see the pressure go above 16%. I'm using CS4 11.0.1, Wacom driver 6.1.1-3, Nvidia GeForce 6800 with drivers updated, Windows XP.
airbrush banding, as well as gradient banding? I have my brush set to transfer, pen pressure and smoothing. It seems when I try to lay down a smooth gradient with the airbrush I get this banding effect. If I brush over the same stroke there's a dark spot that forms like a bullet eye that gets bigger and bigger. It's the same with gradients.
using a airbrush softbrush 100 which I only have a 50? But more importantly using it to delete a section of a layer so you getthe layer behind it shining through but it's like an airbrush so no hardlines:
Im using PS CS3 with a wacom tablet on an 20 inch alum iMac (the display is CRAP). Im having banding issues when using the airbrush on a dark background. Maybe someone can help me out with this.
I am using PSCS 3 and I have a wacom Intuos 2 tablet I used to use. Recently I hooked it back up as I am going to start doing more illustration (just been doing photography and using lightroom). Â PS is not reacting to the sensitivity settings. I downloaded the latest Wacom drivers today and when I open the wacom control panel the setting show the pen sensitivity is working. In the PS brushes panel I have tried "shape" dynamics and "other" dynamics both set to "pen presure" and still no effect. I've tried adjusting the sliders from 0%, to 50% and 100% all with no effect. Also for some reason PS does not recognize the eraser. It just acts like the pen. Again, in the wacom control panel when I look at the eraser it recognizes it (doesn't resond if I use the pen side).
Can someone tell me how to change the direction of the pen tilt so that it sprays the right direction? I have an airbrush from Wacom, and the spray goes in the opposite direction from the tilt. It does the same thing if I use the Wacom brushes as well.
I have: Windows XP Cintiq 12wx Airbrush & Grip Pen Photoshop CS3
Ive heard great things about the airbrush.. It's one of the most popular tools for shading and highlighting images, and is used in nice background wallpapers located at Spoono.com ..... Im wondering how do you use the airbrush to make effective highlights..? What is the key to mastering it? I know practicing and playing around is one way, but Ive spent 20 hours and I cant do anything close to the beautiful images I see
