Many times, when I set up a set of slices and export the html and images, I discover that an extra row has been added by ImageReady along the top and right side of the table. It is 1 pixel high along the top, 1 pixel wide along the side. How can I prevent this?
View 3 RepliesWhen I command + click a layer or mask to select the contents therein I get the 'marching ants'. After flattening + copying the selection + creating a new document with preset sizes + and pasting the selection onto the new image I get a 1 pixel border around 1 edge of the image.
I can tell I have extra space because when I change the default bkg of the 'Background' layer to black I can see the black on one side...
First image shows my selection...
Second image shows a zoom of the selection... aka: it has no extra space
Third image shows the blk background behind the copy / pasted image to show the extra space that somehow got added...
I am using the type tool in Photoshop CS6 (windows XP pro) and I am running into this weird issue. I have never seen anything like it before. It isn't my keyboard or computer, it only happens in Photoshop. When I am typing and I mess up and use backspace to delete a character, the next character I type in gets doubled. Random letters will pop up as well - such as when I type "S", the letter "U" shows up... when I press the spacebar, it adds an extra letter instead of a space (the following letter or previous letter used). The cursor gets placed before that second character too. I can delete it using backspace or delete but then if I press spacebar to continue, it shows up again and again. I can't get rid of the extra characters!
I've tried activating and de-activating various key locks on my keyboard to no avail. Is there some button I pushed or weird formatting I somehow accidently implemented?
When creating templates with photoshop and image ready, is there a way to mark the slice as a background image?
When I generate the html the slices all end up as images. I then have to go into DW and change the img src to none and set the background image of the cell to the name it was.
Is there an easier way?
I am creating an interactive trainer that operates like a website. I created slices and rollovers for different section within the trainer and all works flawlessly in Imageready, but when I preview there are gaps between the slices and some of the page edges are jagged where the slices seem to have moved or slipped?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am trying to create an animated gif by modifying multiple layers of an image in Photoshop, then opening the image in ImageReady to customize the animation. However, when I open the image in ImageReady, I get an error message: "Could not read Adobe ImageReady specific data because slices were in an unsupported format." Consequently I am unable to "make frames from layers" in the animation pallette of ImageReady.

1. Load image
2. Bring up Image Size dialogue.
3. Resize image down using Bicubic Automatic or Sharpen (haven't tried others)
4. Resized image has a faded 1px border all the way round - see attached:
I checked for some anti-aliasing or other setting but can't find one.
This is 100% reproducible and the border is not present in the original image. I'm in XP Pro Sp3.
OK, I want to make a slice which will display my image, just like a normal slice, but which will allow me to put text over that slice. For example, if I could get it to make a table slice, which would use the image as a background and allow me to fill the table with text, that would satisfy my need. I just need to be able to type text over the available image. I could do this in HTML, of course, but that disallows me to go back and edit the page in photoshop again, without losing all the table modifications.
So is there a way to do this? I've been using photoshop forever, but I'm not all that familiar with imageready. So maybe this is a simple solution, but I don't know it.
After I move an image or line of type to where I want it on a Photoshop CS5.1 layer, it moves an extra pixel. It is incredibly annoying and want it to stop before I start screaming. I've turned off all "Snap" and "Snap To" menu items.
View 14 Replies View Relatedjust recently purchased the CS upgrade and I'm having some Imageready problems that I don't have with 7. Perhaps I'm overlooking something, but I've gone in to make sure the settings in both versions are the same wherever possible. I'm using XP Pro (fully up to date with service packs) on a P4 2.4Ghz with 512mb RAM and 120GB hard drive.
If I create a sliced image to svae optimized for web as HTML page, and I select just the bottom row of slices and tell it to save "Selected Slices" only, ImageReady CS is still including the HTML table codes for all of the other non-selected slices, and placing spacer.gif files in them. This presents a big problem, because if I try to remove those unwanted table data boxes and spacers it completely garbles the page, and if I leave them in, I end up with a bunch of unwanted blank space in the page.
In Imageready 7 I do not have this problem. I will save and code only the selected slices that I tell it to, and does not insert a bunch of unwanted table coding with spacer images.
ALL users of Draw who use it for web-design. If this is intended to be this way and understanding that it's a pain for most users why not just offer the option of having it cropped automatically in the export dialogue?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two art objects on two layers. I want to match to the pixel the two objects that otherwise could be exactly the same but one layered object was imported slightly smaller.
The scale tool has good scale handling, I just want to measure the tool spots to the pixel to gain an exact scale size factor and match sizes.
It blows my mind that somthing this simple isnt all that simple. I used the eyedropper tool to slect a color from another photo, then used the brush while fully magnified to change the color of each pixel.
It was coming out a weird greyish color, and I noticed that if I clicked more than once, it got darker, but so did the pixels directly around the one i was editing. So, i copied both pictures, loaded them into paint, and went to town.
It worked, but then when i copied it back into photoshop, it had a black background (there was no background in the original pictures) around the sprite I was editing. I tried to use the magic wand tool to get rid of it, but it took parts of the sprite with it, so...
Is there any way that I can edit the color of a single pixel (or hell, even a group of pixels if they share the same exact color would be nice...preferred, even) accurately? If not, what program could I use that would keep the transparent background?
Recently, my freehand lasso tool in CS2 has been, by default, adding to the first selection I make without me asking it to. Usually you would have to hold shift down to do this, but it is doing it automatically. How do I stop this?
Caps lock is not on.
I would prefer it to be back to normal because I often deselect using the lasso tool by clicking out of a faulty selection I have made.
I hope that this makes some sense.
way to stop Photoshop from adding the 'copy' suffix to files when you save them as additional formats? I'm working accross multiple Photoshop versions on multiple computers and would like to standardize the save functions.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been receiving the same basic files from a client for a few years now. The Illustrator (15.10.) file is saved as an Acrobat (10.1.3) PDF then opened in Photoshop (12.1 x64).
In the art is a 50% grey blur like shadow that's some imported raster shape. That blur is over the artboard, with no further tone, color or layers beneath it, so, theoretically, it's on white. Up until this current set of files i'd have no problems importing the pdf in Photoshop, flattening and saving, the blur would transition to white and everything was good. But now, even though when still layered it shows the white to be 0/0/0/0 in cmyk, as soon as I flatten it, that white area is now 0/0/0/3.
I've gone through the Illustrator file and cannot find an new elements, and when I take a previous PDF who's tif file is fine, and open that pdf in Photoshop, I get the same addition of tone. So this tells me something has changed in Photoshop, be it a setting or preference that's been altered.

When I place this image over a light color background, it looks fine, but when I place it over a dark color background, the edge of the image looks very rough and dirty, I think it's because some of the anti alias from the original image, how can I make it a clean image without going to delete pixel by pixel?

Our problem is that we don’t Know how channel mix works exactly for transforming pixel by pixel in Java.
For example,
We have an image an do on it the next mix:
Output Channel = Red
Red=200.0
Green=0.0
Blue=0.0
For simulate that, we transform all pixels with Red Component *2 and 255 (maximum) if is greater.
Our problem is:
Output Channel = Red
Red=200.0
Green=60.0
Blue=0.0
How can I simulate that?
I'm using Photoshop CS5 and as you can see on the picture below, when I set my grid line to every 1 px, grid doesn't match canvas pixel size.
Now I'm not able to draw sharp shapes using pen tool because even if I hold shift key everything gets blurry.
when I export a 1024 wide graphic, I am getting 1026 wide PNG files from it. This is throwing off tiling in my game. Here is what I am seeing:

I will have to keep bringing them into Inkscape and exporting them as PNG from there after doing all the work in Illustrator.

I have a document that was sent from a client. The client's doc was in ID CS 6. I have used the Find Font command to change ALL of the the fonts to one font, Alegreya Regular, an OpenType font from Google. I saved the doc and Quit ID CS 5.
When I copy and paste from the old document to the new one, the text appears as Futura. I have deleted all instances of Futura from the old file, and there are not any style sheets with Futura in the old file. Why does the supposedly-deleted formatting persist, and how can I get rid of it for real (and forever)?

I've just upgraded to Xara P&G Version 6 from Xara Xtreme 4. ( I know, I know what took me so long right? ) Well, Xtreme was doing everything that I required and as such never felt like upgrading but have finally done so. Still getting the hang of the new functions and facilities.
One thing that is bothering me is the new Layers task. In the older version, any imports or changes I made were always done on the active layer. In the new version something strange seems to be happening. Every time I import a new object, Xara automatically adds a new dedicated layer for the object. This means that I am ending up with tons of layers
Am I doing something wrong? Or can I change any setting so that Xara does not automatically add a new layer. I much prefer the facility of the old version where it was up to the user to add new layers as required.
I am trying to add the measure command which adds nodes / points to what I select to the tool bar and it wont let me do it when I select it out of the commands search box.
