Photoshop :: CS5 - Image Optimization Settings?
Apr 16, 2013While trying to optimize images for my website [URL] .... I used a tool named 'RIOT', but I am not comfortable with that since I am a Photoshop user and likes utilize its potential to the fullest. I tried different preferences while saving processed images, but wasn't satisfied with the result. Some recommended settings that I can use to optimize images using photoshop CS5 ?

Jun 6, 2008I need to batch optimize for the web a big amount of images contained in a two level folder structure.
By using Using Automate - Batch and running an action that exports the images using 'Save for Web & Devices', I can optimize all the images contained in my folder (including all sub folders). The problem is that they have to export into a single folder in my desktop (the path has to be indicated when creating the action and saving the image in 'Save for Web & Devices'.
solution would be to save the files in their original location, replacing the original file with the optimized one, keeping the original folder structure.

Apr 5, 2013I have created a banner for a website in Photoshop. On the right side of the banner I want to have a flash file I created with transitioning imaging. I also use Dreamweaver but the banner is such that I cannot add it together in dreamweaver , or at least I haven't figured out how.
The best way I would like to do it is in Photoshop but will the Photoshop image allow the swf file to play? I tried to create a gif in Photoshop but that doesn't play like I would like. I am only using three images 330 px by 248 px so it isn't huge.

Jun 28, 2005I've got myself in a bit of a muddle. I was messing around with the optimization settings the other day in Imageready. Now when I save my gifs they go all grainy. I've never had a problem before. I've tried putting it back to the default settings but it's still loosing alot of picture quality on saving. Is there a way to fix this?

I see that in the simpleviewer there is an option for the user to right click and open the image in a new window so users can save the images from the new window. Jan 6, 2014I'm not really an artist or good with image manipulations, but I am learning how to create games on my own (using Unity3D currently) and have to create some basic art or animations myself when I can't find it available for free online, and I do that in paint.net.
Right now I'm working on an asteroids clone to further my learning and what I want to do is when the player ship spawns in the game, I want to have a little flash so that it doesn't look as if the ship just appears out of nowhere.
I figured that the closest thing to what I want looks like a camera flash and have been looking for this online but have yet found nothing. I've searched these forums, too, in both Plugins and the tutorials for creations and distortions/modifications but have also come up empty.
There was a plugin for a lens flare effect, but is not what I need, and one plugin that creates glitter/sparks, but that one seems to only work when you have a suitable image to work with, whereas I need something that creates this kind of flash by itself.

I had recently suggested an upgrade to the machines by putting our autodesk software on SSD's but I'm hesitant to follow this up due to the read/write limitations SSD's currently suffer from.

Mar 20, 2013Every time I'm working in an Illustrator file with multiple layers and hundreds of objects on those layers that sometimes aren't grouped yet, I find it hard to select click on the objects in the layers panel on the right, selecting them via shift-click (you know, selecting all objects between the first and the last clicked object).
Is there a way I can select layer objects with the shift-option and afterwards have all of the items selected on the artboard? See the images for illustration.

Oct 9, 2013I am testing PSP X6 (I have all versions since V7) and now I get wrong files with the PNG Optimization. This functions used to write files with the extension png but now it writes png files with the extension pspimage. If you try to open such a file you will get error messages.
PSP seems to be back with version X6 with again destroyed old functions. It seems so as if will not buy the update this time. With each new version I get new bugs in old functions.

Jan 5, 2007I am currently building a website in Flash 8. I have been creating most of the graphics with photoshop CS2. I have recently run into a problem with transferring the photoshop work over to flash. I used to just drag a .psd right onto the stage in flash and it came in perfectly. Now all of a sudden flash does not recognize the file type.

Nov 16, 2005I was looking through some of my old folders this morning and stumbled across a pic I had to tinker with early last year for a magazine I was putting together.
as can be seen in the picture, there is a big patch of light (I assume from a flash or other light) right in the middle of the back ground, which looks terrible.
Also, the rest of the pic could do with a bit of lightening as it's too dark.
How would you go about editing this image to remove the patch of light?
I tried 2 techniques, firstly I used the burn tool to darken the patch of lightto match the rest of the pic.
The second approach I tried was to duplicate the layer. On the new layer I darkened the image so the patch was as dark as the rest of the poster in the first layer. Then I applied a layer mask and made only the newly darkened patch visible over the original pic to give an evenly lit poster.

Oct 29, 2008Just upgraded to CS3 and there's no more Flash Export - Just this Zoomify thing, which I'm not sure I trust (keeps wanting to contact the Zoomify Website) and I don't have the time to relearn.
Basically, I want my old "Export to Flash" from Imageready. Is that hidden somewhere.
This Zoomify stuff isn't impressing me - does a great demo but I put little flash headers on many of my sites and don't want to complicate things.

Jul 24, 2012I've been tasked with the creation of some flash-type banners for an intranet site. The idea is to have an image with text that expands across the top of the website and fades out into another image with additional text.
I'm just wondering if it's possible to create this kind of thing in Photoshop? My first thought is that I would need flash but unfortunately, I'm not sure that I'm going to get the go ahead for that product. I have however been able to order Photoshop and have CS6 on the way to me...so just wondered if I can plan whether I need to try harder to get the resource to buy Flash professional?

Dec 31, 2011yeah, sort of left my flash on my camera, and as i was taking photos of the fireworks however (not so) riveting they were, and i didn't realise i had it on, and the flash reflected from my window pane and into the photo and sort of ruined every shot i had.
i was just wondering is there any way of fixing such a flash intrusion. the firework is visible through the over exposure but only slightly at best. or should i save the fuss and wait til next year?
i would not like it to be done for me as i prefer to learn how to do it by following people's guide not by having them do it for me as an "example" no digs or anything just saying.
Photoshop :: Oil Filter - Flash Up For A Second And Then Close?
Mar 27, 2013have an issue with the oil filter when trying to use it. I have been using the filter with out any problems at all up untill now.Today when I try to open it, all it does is flash up for a second and then close. It doesn't give me any error messages it just flickers and closes.
Photoshop doesn't crash, the other filters all work. Also I noticed in the filter drop down menu that the oil painting doesn't have a shortcut next to it like the others, and I cannot remember if it had one before or is suppossed to have one.
