Sep 28, 2012Imagine working with a photo of a purse that has a handle. The handle is upright letting you see background space above and below the strap. I need to cut the purse, strap included, from the rest of the picture. Then I have to save it on its own. I am not moving the cut out purse to a new picture to place it on.
How do I do this? Is there something that has to be done to the picture first, (bachground, layer, etc.) before even selecting the right PCS6 tool? What is the best tool to use?

Dec 7, 2004when I move large pictures out into another picture it freezes. When I sometimes move things inside the image it freezes. When I sometimes brush with a larger brush or even a small brush it freezes. Could it be a virus that is causing these problems? I installed the same photoshop into my old computer and it works fine. May 26, 2007I have a picture of a cabin on a lake, I want to use this as the flash intro for a website. I would like a mist to cover the picture and then float away, and the water in the lake to "shimmer" or make it look as if it is "moving"...kind of like you were looking at a video clip, not a static picture.
Is this something I would do in any of the creative suite programs? or studio 8 programs? or is it something completely different.

Jan 14, 2013I am using the trial version of CS5 (probably going to upgrade at the end of the trial), and I've only found one thing about it that I don't like more than CS3. This is VERY VERY annoying, and I'm not sure if it's a glitch, or just a preference that needs to be reset:
When using the move tool, I will move something and it will just snap back to where it originally was. When it snaps back, it might move a few pixels over in the direction I was dragging, but it is definitely not moving to where I want it to go. The only way to get things to move the way I want to is by Free Transform...but it's annoying, when you're trying to design a layout, to have to free transform every element you want to move, first.
I'm guessing that this is a glitch because sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't...it's pretty random. I've tried turning Snap on and off, and nothing changes.

When I copy one partially transparent GIF and paste it on to the second partially transparent GIF the transparent section turns white and is no longer transparent.
Therefore covering up the contents of the prior GIF.

Dec 9, 2012So a friend created a model using zbrush and exported several different *.OBJ files. I imported those to maya and added shaders. They all fit correctly together when imported.
some of those obj files required me to do a mesh->combine. so now it appears that not every item has the same reference point so that when I move or scale the entire item, some of the objects move seperately. I think it is only the ones I had to combine.
I tried freeze transformations, but when doing that, some of the objects lost their scale settings and still didnt move together as one unit.
