How do I make a photo transparent?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bough coreldraw x3 graphics suite, and I was wondering how to make the background transparent.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have been removing photo backgrounds, saving them as .png and using them in a Power Point Project. Apparently when I reopened that PowerPoint project to add more photos, Libre Office's Impress opened the .ppt file rather than PowerPoint. When I had added all of the png photos and saved the ppt file again I saw that it was "Impress" not PowerPoint that was saving he file, but it still saved it as a ppt file.
I was not concerned until I went to open the ppt file with PowerPoint and discovered that PowerPoint could not open that ppt file. I decided that I had to start fresh and add all of the png photos in a new Pow1erPoint Project. Then I found that he transparent background ol all of the png files had been changed to black. I must have transparent backgrounds. So I took each photo back into Paint.Net and used the Magic Wand to remove the backgrounds, then saved them as png files. When I sent to use those edited .png files the backgrounds were still black. I have tried removing those black backgrounds several times but they continue to have black backgrounds. what I can try to get the transparent backgrounds back?
I am setting up some photos that will be exported as png files for use in Publisher.
I need grungy photo edges to be transparent so her background shows through the grunge effect.
I have a photo that Iwant to look more natural by fading the corners out to transparent so it doesn't look like a square photo.
Here is an example.
I want it to be somewhat like this where the background of the image is like a gradient to transparent.
I have never had this issue until CS6. I do have a Retina Macbook Pro too. Basically though, I'm building a website and need to fade out a texture to transparent. I usually do this and it works fine, but right now it is going almost straight to transparent it isn't a smooth gradual gradient.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI am having a little trouble trying to add multiple fade to transparent gradients appear in a single image. Here are the steps I have done so far:
Create a new vector with the photo unlocked
Add a layer mask
use the black to white gradient, so the edge of the photo is completely translarent and as you move to the center, it slowly reveals the photo.
I used this technique I found online for one edge of the photo and it worked great, untill I tried the second gradient on the same photo, and the first one I did disappeared. I guess Photoshop only lets you have one.
The next thing I tried is to create another vector mask and create another gradient, but it did not work at all. Also, Photoshop only lets you have two vector masks per layer, so That wont do me much good if I need 4 gradients, each one fading to transparent around the 4 edges of the photo.
Any solution would be greatly appreciated. I plan to take the photo that has the fade to transparent gradients and copy it to another background image with some text.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Jake
I have a nicely edited series of videos fading into each other in the video track, and would like to have a series of photographs fade in and out in the overlay track. Fade to Black or dissolve dont achieve the affect I want where we can see the underlying video between photos.

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have seen several instructions on how to fade a picture to transparent. How I can fade a picture to the exact color of the background, i.e. the edge of the picture disappears and smoothly transitions into the background color? All fading I have tried sofar still leaves an edge of the picture visible, contrasting with the background.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to add some black boarders to my fotos that fade to transparent. a little bit like this [URL]But with the difference that I dont need the boarders to be really really dark. they sould be more transparent where I can still see some of the details of the foto layer beneath. The idea is more to give my pictures some slightly darker boarders so that I can print them out and they look somehow similar when I put them on the wall...
So theoretically i thought of adding a new layer, make a rounded selection, invert the selection and use the blend tool from black to transparent (if this is somehow possible). But maybe there is an easier or better way or maybe there exist some additonal plugins where I can do some simple foto things like that with a already existing filter?

I want to use Vellum section dividers in my portfolio for the same reason everyone else likes them: they're translucence.

The first 2 photos are Illustrator files. They have a solid white background and the black text. Then, I pasted the fading images. I made these images fade on Photoshop, by using the gradient tool, and setting the fade on top of a mask.
But this doesn't work. It does not fade to nothing....but rather fades to white. I need it to fade to nothing so its somewhat translucent on my vellum.
if print like this on vellum, the image won't fade into the transparent sheet vellum sheet, but would rather fade into a white square (which will print on the vellum and therefore not be translucent).
When I make the image fade on Photoshop, I want to see the checkered pattern underneath, not another layer of white.
Simply put, my image fades to white (the white layer beneath it). I want it to fade to nothing.....so i can paste it on something else, and can see through the faded, part to whatever is underneath.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've imported a photo of a striped shirt into PSE 6. I want to put some text on top of the shirt. Unfortunately, the stripes on the shirt make it difficult to read the text.
So I though if faded the stripes a little--where the text will be--that will fix this problem.
So I need to know how to fade just that one section of the photo where the text will be. I don't want to fade it entirely--just enough so that the text is readable. That is, I want the stripes to still be somewhat visible. How much I fade them will be up to me.
I want to try to fade a couple of photos together. Fading a color from one block to another is fairly straightforward, but doing this with photos appears to be giving me troubles.
Currently, each photo lives in its own layer.
Photo A takes up the Lower Left while Photo B consumes the Upper Right ...and is in a Higher Layer than Photo A.
I add a layer that has a gradient using transparent white as one color and solid white as the other. With this layer, I thought I could select a Blend or reduce the Opacity so that the Lower Left edges of Photo B fade away, allowing the image to look like it is fading into Photo A.
When I use layer masks on photographs it tends to fade parts of the photo... why is this?

But, I couldn't figure out how to get a certain effect I was wanting to use. Basically, at the 2:34 mark there is a picture of a lady kneeling down petting a puppy. The very next picture is the same lady with the same dog as an adult. I was trying to get the second picture to fade into the screen and the first picture fades out. So they kind of "morph" if you will. I assume that's possible - but I am just to new to the program to figure it out.
Basicly when i try to erase a layer/rectangle tool to make a nice fade this is what happens: every time i try to erase it makes a huge black lining around the erased part as u can see .

I am trying to make my image fade to black on one side. I have read the blend tool tutorial in the user manual but all I can get to hap pen is a black and white gradient completely covering my image. I have tried adding a transparent layer over the image and applying the gradient to it but for some reason when one side of the image (using the linear mode) starts to get darker, the other side gets lighter, creating a severely distorted contrast with the image, plus the fade covers an entire half of the image.
