View 8 Replies View RelatedfI just made a test of how much the insane amount of Color styles that seem to add up in .cdr files if you do not purge them before saving settings as default. The thread is URL....I found ot that in my case it was an overhead of 22 kB. Not very much, but still unneccessary.
The big finding in the test however, was that even a file that just had one single unfilled rectangle in it amounted to over half a megabyte, 596 kB with the color styles purged. Isn't that insane?
I therefore renamed the file to a .zip file and opened it in WinZip. As you can see there are some very heavy XML documents inside the file. The metadata.xml is 5.6 MB! Even though they compress well, they seemingly add to an insane file overhead.
I opened the XML-file and it contains about 50 short rows so I don't understand how it can be so heavy. Now, is there any way of getting rid of some of this overhead? Or is the minimum file size for a .cdr-file in X4 600kB?
I have to create a dynamic block for our overhead cupboards. I've tried to do it myself but the solution is not forth coming and the brain is starting to hurt. I've attached a drawing to better illustrate what i want to do. It has the old style doors but i will create a new DB for the new style.
The OHC will be inserted with the top left point. I then want to stretch the top right point to the appropriate length and have the 3 doors stretch equally. The gap between the doors will be 22mm and must not change. The end gaps will vary because of door size but will stay within 31.2 mm to 32.7 mm (As close to 32mm as possible). Also the rh edge of the water level gauges need to be 58mm from the rh door edge.
I deal with creating overhead property plats and landscape plans in Designer X4. The problem I have is there aren't any good patterns to use for the architecture and landscape industry. I have dealt with PhotoShop in the past and how you could import .pat files that would tile nicely. It would be nice to be able to fill an area with a stone pattern. I found some AutoCAD files but the filter type was not supported. If nothing else, I need to know what kind of vector pattern files are supported.
View 11 Replies View RelatedI am trying to animate a casino-like light board made of tens of light bulbs/leds. I thought the easiest way to do it would be creating a matrix of bulbs arranged by material ID and then design a pattern in multi sub-object materiel so I could somehow scrub through it and achieve animation effect. The material modifier allows to change ID for the whole object only and MaterialByElement shuffle ID`s in a random manner.

I am attempting to build a facsimilie enigma machine, I would like to know how best to create an effect so that when a key is pressed a corresponding letter appears to light up. Btw I am not looking for an animated image, I can take care of the transitions between on and off, I just need to create the two image states.

How do you lock the pivot point of a light to the light itself? I thought just adding a Axis node would move the light and pivot point but the pivot does not move. Is there a way of parenting them together?
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I use the standard Revit can lights in a wood joist floor with drywall applied to the bottom? If I place in a suspended ceiling, can lights light up just fine. However, if I use them in the floor space of a wood joist floor, the light itself gets covered with the floor. How can I get the light to cut the floor out so I can see the light when it is rendered?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI working on a deadline with little sleep, but I cannot believe it is this hard to get an overhead door to look right. All I want is a 1" thick frame, the same depth as the wall AND the door slab to be INSIDE the frame like a real overhead door.
The attached PDF shows the standard OH door on the left with the stupid door centered in the frame. The door on the right is one I created by inserting a cased opening in the wall, then manually drawing a rectangle and dashed line for the OH swing. All I am interested in is getting this right in plan at this point. Using Architecture 64 bit.
I have a photo that was taken outside. It has some glare from the sun. Is there any way to remove the lines. It is the only photo that we took standing like that outside, and my roommate and his newlywed wife probably would like this picture. I have it posted online, if you need to look at it or download it (I havnt had a chance to resize it or anything, so it is pretty big at the moment)

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have used PS to edit my car photos for a while now, but there is one thing I still haven't mastered.
In the photo below I would like to remove the sun glare 'spots' you can see on the rear wheel arch (plus a few smaller ones also), but when I try to colour that area it never blends nicely with the rest of the paintwork.
trying to reduce the amount of glare in this picture of my car. The picture will be used in a calendar so I need it to look professional. I tried getting rid of the glare spots by using the healing brush, smudge, and blur tools, but I'm clueless when it comes to the white spots. I tried using a black fill with opacity set to 8, and that helped a little bit. I'm attaching the original and the modified versions, but if anyone wants the high res version to edit it,

This is a particularly bad photo which I need to improve and I'm honestly not sure if it's just a lost cause.
I have an interior shot of a living room. There is a framed paiting on the wall which has a reflection from the window on the opposing wall. I'm not sure how to remove the reflection while keeping the integrity of the photo. Another possible fix could be doing a mirror image of the photo itself to "cover" the glare spot on the other half of the painting. I have much to learn when it comes to photoshop.
View 9 Replies View RelatedBack in the early 80's I had an exhibition of my paintings and took photos from an Olympus OM-10. Each painting had a spotlight mounted above it and as you can see from the attached picture, the light glare is strong at the top of the painting (washing out the color and details) and the glare extends about halfway down the photo. I have Photoshop CS3 Extended. how to eliminate the glare from the top half of the painting?
