Aug 13, 2009I'm testing Image Ready and need to know how to define exact size of slice when I make slices of banner? is this possible to do with Image Ready?

CorelDRAW X3 :: Define Size And How To Set Actual % Size Back As 100%
Feb 16, 2008I really can't believe that it is not possible in Corel Draw.
1) How to define size of object, for example rectangle before I actually draw first time the custom shape of the rectangle? So far I draw any rectangle and then change the size which is not professional way I guess, because it causes many problems. (like for example I cant change ratioif it is going to be rectangle with rounded corners)
2) Very often in my work I need to change % size of my artwork or object because a client wants to have something 80% size or 20% smaller. I found it impossible to do because CorelDraw keeps remember all % transformations since original size was created. Now, provided that my 1) problem has no solution we end up in such a situation:
- my first rectangle is always NOT in correct, precise size
- when I amend the size it has a correct size but already has different than 100% value.
- Corel Draw forces me to choose: 100% value and not precise size or correct size and for example 113,9%
I completely don't understand what for is the feature that remembers the original size, it's not so needed in practice especially that IT IS A VALUE BASED ON ALWAYS WRONG INITIAL SIZE. Is it so difficult to place a button next to % value called RESET to 100%? (without going back to initial size of course) I know there are tricks for exampleto group the object temporary with other object but it is not a proper way, is it?

Jul 17, 2006I'm having a bit off difficulty getting my printer to print at exactly the correct size. When I print 21.9 width, it comes out about 5mm wider?

Photoshop :: How To Batch Process / Save For Web Various Images To Same Exact KB Size
Dec 11, 2012I have a batch of 500 jpg images all in different sizes 732 KB, 634 KB, 664 KB etc.
I need to compress / save for web down to 130 KB the entire batch. I've managed to create an action which compresses them lower than 130 KB at different sizes depending on how light or dark the images are, but still not to an exact number. Is there a way to create such an action or script? I'm working off of Photoshop CS5, iMac 10.5.8.
Photoshop :: How To Crop Multiple Images Of Exact Same Pixel Size
Dec 3, 2012I have hundreds of scans all from one book and I am trying to straighten and crop them all out to the same pixel amounts. For example, I have a bunch of scans that are 1000x1000 pixels with overscan on all sides, they are also all at an angle. In the end I want a folder with all the pages at 800x800 nice and straight.
So, when I open the first one, I crop and straighten it to 800x800 and then I make a custom specification at 800x800. The problem is, when I go to the next one and hit crop and pic my specification, I find out that that specification is actually for an aspect ration, not a particular dimension. I want it to automatically put the crop window to 800x800, not just restrict the crop to that aspect ratio. If this could be done it would significantly quicken my work flow.
Illustrator :: Cannot Align Any Rectangle Or Define Specific Size
Mar 13, 2013i've some trouble with a specific document. I could not align any rectangle or define a specific size. For exemple, i choose 600px x600 px in the top "menu" bar, illustrator change the values by 599,641 px
It's the same in inch, mm..etc.. The second thing it's if i choose a specific coordinate to place the rectangle , it's change by illustrator.
I have not the problem on other document.
It's a 21 cm 21cm @ 300 dpi, proprotions 1
No grid activited or anything else to force the magnetism
InDesign :: Define Object Styles With Size For Graphic Frames?
Apr 8, 2014I have an InDesign document, where I have defined some Object styles for my text frames - such as the size (width x hight) of the text frames, and this works fine.
I would like to do the same thing for my graphic frames, but I can't find this option. I figure it must be possible somehow?
An object style which makes the picture frame ex. 50 x 50 mm. with the picture centered in the frame.
Illustrator :: CS6 - Can't Enter Exact Size
May 15, 2012Illustrator CS6 won't let me enter an exact number into the height and width fields. For instance, if I create a circle and enter 9mm into each field, it gets resized to something like 8.993. If I create a square and enter 144mm x 63mm, Illustrator changes it to 144.005 and 62.999.
I have Snap turned off.
AutoCad :: Stretch Rectangle To Exact Size?
Apr 25, 2012I have a rectangle that is the correct width (X) but the wrong height (Y). How can I stretch it so the height is exactly 200? I think I know all the features of the stretch command. I can select the right nodes using a crossing polygon and stretch it an arbitrary amount with the cursor. I can also add an exact displacement to the size it was before.
The trouble is that all changes are based on the existing size. And it wasn't an exact size in the first place.
So how can I set the height to exactly 200? The SCALE command is no good as it scales X and Y the same amount.
The obvious work-around is to draw another rectangle the correct size on top of the old one. But that's an admission of failure. Am I missing something, or is there really no way to stretch something to an exact size?
Paint.NET :: How To Resize Image To Exact Size
Dec 6, 2012I want to produce images that are exactly 4" x 6" to use as masters to make 4" x 6" borderless photo prints. I use Resize > Canvas Size > Absolute Size > 4.00 width > 6.00 height. When I save a print the resulting images are not exactly 4" X 6" so they do not produce useful borderless photos. Different photos have produced different size images using those same settings. The only way I have been able to learn that they are not the exact size that I need is to print and measure them.
Is it realistic to expect Paint.net to produce images that are exactly 4" x 6"?
Is there a better way than printing and measuring them to determine that the images are the desired size?
Illustrator :: Set Canvas / Artboard To Exact Page Size?
Aug 31, 2012I am making a website on Illustrator 1,200 px 1,200 px. When i export it to .PSD i open it as a much larger file in pixels than this and with a whole Canvas/ Artbord white area which i don't need.
Is there any way to keep the page size like the final ouput without the white canvas area in the export?

GIMP :: Slice Image Using Filter-web-slice Function?
Sep 11, 2012I'm trying to slice an image using the filter-web-slice function but I was wondering if there is a way to customize the function or change its properties in the Python-Fu. I need gimp to slice by columns (start in the top left corner slice each grid down the column then proceed to the next column. Right now all I can get gimp to do is cut by rows. Normally gimps function would be fine but I need the image labeled a particular way so I can use the individual files in a map for a game. I'm making a 118 images so renaming them by hand would take too long.

Aug 23, 2006i'm trying to make a new brush from a scanned photo. now i've done this before, and never had a problem, but it seems that with this particular picture, i can't. i've selected it, erased the background, turned it to grayscale etc.. looked in the tutorials, help, in many many forums.. i made sure the feathers were turned to 0, and the option "define brush preset" remains untouchable.

I want to select part of an image to turn into a pattern.
If I make a selection using the Rectangular Marquee Tool, I can go to Edit - Define Pattern to define a new pattern based on that selection. So far, so good.
If I make my original selection bigger by using Select - Transform Selection and commiting the transformation, the Edit - Define Pattern option is still available. This is the behavior I expect.
If I make my original selection smaller by using Select - Transform Selection and commiting the transformation, the Edit - Define Pattern option is greyed out.

Aug 28, 2012I am having some trouble making a new pattern from a selection in Photoshop CS6. If I simply use the rectangular selection tool over an area that I would like to make a new pattern from, I can go to Edit > Define Pattern to make a new pattern from my selection. However, if I transform the selection or create a selection using ctrl-click on a layer, the option Edit > Define Pattern is unavailable.

Jul 2, 2013I wanted to remove a tumb that caught the corner of the lense in a shot with the clone tool, so I choose my clone tool, select a copy of the background layer, and press alt to select my source. It doesn't work! I don't get my little plus thing. I've also noticed that I can't select part of the photo with the lasso tool either. I AM selecting the proper layer on the side! I don't get it, why isn't this working?
I've tried resetting the tool, I've tried several different files, it just refuses to let me select a source. My alt key is working, ctrl-alt-del says so.

I work on a Mac with three monitors. My primary monitor is in the middle. I often will drag images to one of the side monitors where they'll stay open while I'm working on other images. But Photoshop will open the next image I choose on the side monitors where I've got images open.
I want all new images to open on my primary monitor, always. Is there a way to define which monitor images will open on?
