I've begun with a RGB file, which I have removed one of the channels from, to automatically create a multi-channel file with two channels: Channel #1 and #2. How do I assign a Pantone to each of these channels?
View 1 RepliesI am wanting to select all colors from a certain image and have a color palette. I need this to send to a fabric printer, which will be printing digitally.
When I load the image into either PS6 or AI6, what is the easiest way to sort these colors? When I use a color table, I am getting too broad of a selection of colors.
Also, I will need either the pantone or RGB #s of each color in the image. I've been making a swatch palette and then selecting each image with an eyedropper to write down the numbers.
I have and image in CMYK which client used to print packagings.
During the printing process in printing house replaced the black channel with Pantone 280. So fall all is fine.
But now the client want to have other layout with those packagings in their real colors (the way they are printed - back replaced with Pantone), and can provide only images with black color.
So far i tried to:
1. Convert CMYK to Multichannel
2. Replace Black with Pantone 280
3. Convert Multichannelto CMYK .
Last one was not successful, because Pantone channel was replaced with black and the areas which were blue become black again.
I also tried to save the Multichannel image as EPS and to print it trough indesing with option to convert or not to convert colors. Again blue areas become black.(OS Windows 7, CS5.5)
I have a project where I am converting images from CMYK to Multichannel in order to swap out the Cyan for a PMS color. As soon as I switch to Multichannel, the image reddens up quite some. I know it has to do with the View Gamut in Photoshop, and that it goes away upon the RIP for printing, but it is hard to work with color accurately whit the added Red. Do you know of any way to remove the color shift?

I have a multichannel document 3 channels and I need to save it so I can send a jpg to someone who doesn't have Photoshop,
Photoshop won't give me the option to Save to the Web like all other documents.
Starting with a grayscale image in Photoshop Extended 12.1 x64 with with eight children standing in a row each holding a placard that has one letter spellling THANK YOU. I changed the mode to multichannel (that gave me one black channel); selected each letter; copied and pasted the letters to the second channel named PMS 186 U; erased the letters from the black channel with the grayscale image.
I now want to import this image to my page layout application, QuarkExpress 9.3. My printer told me a PDF or EPS would be fine. Neither was fine. The red letters didn't show up. I tried DCS1.0 and was given files separated into CMYK along with an EPS file (without the letters). I tried DCS2.0 that when opening in Photoshop the letters appear for split second that disappear and it will not import to my layout (unkown error).
Ok. I have a problem with colors not matching between Illustrator CS5 documents. I am often emailed documents with pantone colors selected in them. Later, sometimes I need to create another document using those same pantone colors. The problem is, these two documents print the pantone colors differently. In fact, on my screen the file colors look different side-by-side. I figured it was a color settings or color profile issue, so I went in and checked both files. Everything was the same (Working CMYK: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2, Settings North America General Purpose 2, CMYK Preserve Numbers (Ignore Linked Profiles)) . When I paste pantone samples from one document into the other, they match what's in each other's documents, but the two documents themselves don't look the same and don't print the same.
What color setting could I be overlooking to cause this difference? I don't particularly care if they match on-screen, but it's the fact that they actually print different colors from the same pantone swatch that is the trouble. A blue pantone from one file will print purple from a different file.
I am creating mockups for a t-shirt design, this top photo is how the design looks in illustrator with the correct pantones: blue 3115C, Red 119C, and Black. When I save it as a PDF and it is opened in the Preview Application, certain colors turn black like this. This has happened several times lately and I have recently switched from Illy CS5 to CS6, so I wonder if that is the reason?
View 7 Replies View Relatedi upgraded to CS6 photoshop and now i am having problems with multichannel photoshop files not importing correctly into CorelDraw x6. Either no channels appear at all or some will be missing or misnamed.
i realize that X6 may not have the latest and greatest import filters for the latest in Adobe products.
i have even saved the psd files as rgb and grayscale, hoping the issue was just multixhannel but that did not work.
I have an issue when assigning a profile to an untagged ai-file. When doing so, and choosing "Save" (NOT "Save As") the file remains untagged when reopening it again.
Try it yourself: Create a new file in Illustrator, and select Edit > Assign Profile, and then choose "Dont Color Manage This Document". Choose Save As, select Ai-file, and in Illustrator Option choose NOT to Embed ICC Profile. Close the file, and reopen it again. Now you should be promted with a Missing Profile warming. Assign a profile, and Save** (NOT "Save As") the file. In my opinion the file should now be embedded with a profile, but when reopening the file, your again promed with a missing profile warning.
**This doesnt happen it you instead of "Save" choose "Save As", or if the ai-file you start wih doesn't miss the profile, but just has a wrong profile.
I was given a CMYK TIF file that has two added spot color channels. CMYK channels are empty. Bringin this into Draw X6 64 bit shows nothing but a white box and when attempting to print separations the print dialog says "nothing selected to print." So I opened the file in Photoshop, deleted the CMY&K channels, saved it as a PSD and imported to Draw which labels it as a Bitmap (Multichannel DeviceN). The two spot colors appear in the document color palette and it displays and appears to separate properly in the print preview.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried dozens of times after reading great tutorials like here: [URL] but still no luck exporting multichannel discrete quicktimes in premiere pro CC. I have created and set a sequence for multichannels, then assigned channels in timeline to match and set export to match but still nothing but ONE working track out of 4 on number 1 and sometimes 2. I have tried outputting 4 strereo tracks with 8 channels panned and unpanned, 4 mono tracks, ect, ect.
Note: I am not seeing the split track button under the pan knob in the mixer like I did in version 6. Is this normal for CC?
I have a bunch (hundreds, so manual input not an option) of X,Y points without elevation data that I would like to import into a DWG and assign an elevation that is based on an existing surface object. Is there a way to do this for a point file? The command for inserting individual points would be the "Create points - Surface > Random" but I don't see a way to do this in a batch type method where i have my PNE formatted input file to just move the points to sit on the existing surface.

Right now, I'm laboriously changing all my type layers one by one to a suitable replacement font on my PC. There's got to be a better way - more suitable to a lazy sod like me, right?
The perfect solution would be to assign the font I want to use for the default substitution font (which is Myrid Pro). I've searched everywhere, but have come up with nada. Is there a way to change this default font to one of my selection?

cmd-alt-c: copy layer style
cmd-alt-v: paste layer style
Copy layer style is listed in the keyboard shortcuts dialog. For some reason it wants to raster shape layers so that's totally unusable.
I'm working through Scott Kelby's book on photoshop for digital photographers with a group of scrapbookers and am stuck in the bridge chapters. I would like to assign keywords to png files. Is there any way to do this? If I try to assign a keyword, my error message is that there is no metadata. One person in the group says she can assign a keyword to a png format.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm a 3D artist, and I've been using photoshop for texturing my models for so long. Now that photoshop has improved it's 3D features, It's making my life so easy, but there's a problem(other than the memory consumption).
I have to change my navigation from rotation to panning and zooming by clicking on the buttons on top, and for a long run it would be devastating , and I haven't found a way to assign any shortcuts to them so I can easily and quickly hover around my 3D model to texture and paint it.
I personally Believe that It won't be addressed until CS7 or some other version.
I'd like to assign hotkeys for 10 or twelve different Tools I've customized and preset, including smudge, brush (various), selection, etc... I'd like to do this without using and action since they have limited assignable keys (F keys), and it would be great if they were centered around asdf keys.
The best I've been able to come up with is to have the tools panel open, press a hotkey and bring up a custom SET of presets, but this still doesn't make the current tool a specific tool, I still have to select from the panel.
Is this possible in CS5 or CS6?
I've got an older version of Photoshop CS that I am attempting to thinapp and assign to my virtual desktop. I get the same virtual desktop each time.
The thinapp process went fine and the program works but every time I log off and log back on it says a hardware change has been detected and I have to re-activate the software in order to use it. It activates successfully and I can use the program but I don't think I should have to do this every time.
Is there a way to assign this to a shortcut key?

I would like to select an area within a pic, let's say for argument sake the spots of a leopard, capture the selection as a pattern (not just a straight single colour) and use it to paint that pattern with the paintbrush. Or, in the alternate, is there another way to copy an irregular pattern into another defined area of a pic?
