Was wondering how to create this effect. I was also trying to think of an example of an item that was popular that uses Black Plastic Glass, so you could have an idea of what it looks like.

Photoshop :: Realistic Glass And Plastic Pill Buttons

May 28, 2009

I am at the following page:

Photoshopgurus Photoshop Tutorials - Realistic Glass and Plastic Pill Buttons Tutorial (part 1/4)

What should I do first?

"Ok lets start by creating a New Document (Ctrl/Cmd+n). The dimensions will be 300x200 pixels, and with a White Background." OR

"Step 1

Create a new temporary document. Make it 1 pixel by 1 pixel, and with the default white background"

If this is Step 1, then how do I create this "temporary document. Make it 1 pixel by 1 pixel" ?

3ds Max :: Creating Etched Glass Pattern On Existing Glass Window

Mar 30, 2011

Any way to put a detailed patten into my glass window.

I have created glass with the slate material editor, used specular 100, glossiness 80 in the Blinn dropdown. Ued mental ray. Looks good, very glassy. Now I want to put a pattern on the glass, like a silouette, only that it is also translucent, part of the glass, as though it was an "etched glass" pattern on the glass. Do i make the pattern into some kind of "mask"? and lay it over existing glass?

Photoshop :: Vinyl, Plastic, Latex: How To Get The Sheen?

Jul 14, 2006

I've been shooting a lot of "alternative" stuff, much of which has included PVC and latex. Lighting it is tricky enough, but much of the items are wrinkled, and aren't amenable to being ironed--something about melting and causing a mess...

getting the smooth highlights back instead of the textures and wrinkles? I've used the smudge tool, which works OK---if the image is websized, but falls apart at print sizes. Cloning is always an option, but it's going to be a long and painful process.

One example:

Photoshop :: How To Achieve Plastic / Unrealistic Effect For Photo

Aug 16, 2011

I've seen this type of effect used on photos, mostly for fashion ads, and how its done. Possibly, it has to do with lighting during the photo shoot itself. But it seems to me that there is also a significant deal of processing in Photoshop.

Mostly what interests me is that quality that retains a photographic look, while at the same time gives the image a somewhat plastic and unrealistic feel to it.

I tried to attach a sample image which shows exactly what I'm talking about... but it seems that since I'm new here I can't include links until I have at least 5 posts under my belt. You can see the image if you look here: [URL] ....

CorelDRAW X5 :: Cut Out Letters From Plastic On Laser Cutter?

May 4, 2013

I need to cut out letters from plastic on a laser cutter. I use "no fill" and a hairline outline and it works fine.  But occasionally I want to change a font to be "thicker" or have a thicker line but still maintain the hairline outline for cutting.  I can get thicker lines on screen by using the contour tool but how to remove the fill and keep the hairline outline.  To complicate matters, I need these letters to be joined together, so I also need to use the weld tool.

AutoCAD Inventor :: Flatten A Curved Plastic Part

Nov 23, 2012

Suppose we have a plastic part modeled as bent around a cylinder with an x-axis. Because the material is plastic and the manufacturing method is injection molding, part stretch is not a concern.

Suppose further that the part is a solid part that will be converted to a straight spring. The part needs to be flattened to obtain the correct spring dimensions--the part may have variable width in the x direction.

What is the best way to flatten this part?

AutoCad 3D :: 3D Simulation On Deformation Of Plastic / Elastic Materials

I am looking forward to a CAD application that can simulate or show the end result of applying pressure to a plastic material. I have CAD drawings of EPDM Joints, Aluminum Sections and I want to simulate the action of glazing over the EPDM Joints, how the joints form is going to be transformed when the glazing is inserted in-between them i.e. a Window Sash.

How to do this type of simulation?

AutoCAD Inventor :: Making Support And Stiffening Ribs On Curved Plastic Surface?

May 22, 2013

I am trying to make support ribs on a curved plastic surface to make the construction stiffer for a snow puncher.

(Just like on the attached picture, "pic 1".)

But I am having trouble doing this over the curved surface towards the top end of the rib.

As is now I sketch the shape of the rib in both ends and loft it over a sketch (see attached picture, "pic 2"), and then revolve to get the ends.

But this gives problems, result is not good and it's very time consuming.

If this was on a flat surface it would be easier, but now I get a lip along the loft and along the revolve on the top end of the rib.

I'm using Inventor Professional 2013 Student Version.

Photoshop :: Glass Reflections

Sep 12, 2005

I have a picture that was taken on a very cloudy day through the window of a single engine aircraft. There is a considerable amont of glass reflection throughout the photograph which I would like to remove. Most of the reflection is seen in the clouds but there is also a condiderable amount in the water. Since the backround is mostly gray due to the weather the reflection shows up as a light grey to white against the grey. Could you tell me the best way to remove it? Is there a plug-in that will accomplish this quickly or must it be done through some other means?
