Photoshop :: Extension-manager Won't Sync With Proper Version Of CS6
Apr 7, 2013
I have a full and functioning version of Photoshop 6 extended on my MacBook Pro with mountain lion 10.8.3. I installed a new hybrid hard drive a few days ago. I had backed up my computer to an external hard drive via Super Duper. I recopied to the new hard drive and everything seemed to be working properly. My problem is I have a new configurator panel from a third party that I am trying to install and the extension manager that comes with the downloaded file won't install it on a copy of Photoshop 6 that's on my operating hard drive. I can make changes to Photoshop 6 on the backup drive. Somehow it seems that signals a been crossed. There are some folders in the application support folder that I transferred from the backup drive to the laptop drive but that didn't work either. Do I need to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop 6?
The CC Application Manager was inviting me to install apps that were happily residing and working on my system, which concerned me because I would not be informed about updates for those apps. I just got the answer from the CC forum. I had changed the language from English (North American) to English (International) in some instances, and that was enough for the AAM to think those apps were for a different user. The thread below has screen shots of where to change preferences in the AAM  [URL].........
An update to the extension manager was received but when attempting to run the update it errors out with the following message: Â Extension Manager 6.0.4 Update Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7 Â how to correct this?
I am trying to install the Pixel Bender filter for CS5 but I can't open the Extension Manager. I have tried to open it as the Administrator. I also reinstalled the Extension Manager from the Adobe Exchange site. I keep getting the following message:  "This application failed to start because of it's side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more details.Â
I tried installing an extension ("Dr Browns Services") from inside Photoshop CC. The install hangs. I cancelled and entered Adobe Extension Manager CC and it simply hangs on launch. I can get out of it with a forced quit. Meanwhile Photoshop itself is quite stable. How can I un freeze Adobe Xtension Manager CC?
This afternoon, from Photoshop CS6, I purchased and extension through Adobe extension drop down menu called EDGE FX.  It will not install. As I attempt to do so, it does not list the Photoshop product (only Illustrator, Flash, Premiere, etc).
Here are some screen shots of the dialog boxes I copied. How do I manage to get this downloaded into Photoshop? Note in the last of the three screenshots, Photoshop doesn't appear as an option. I went into manager and a drop down menu doesn't give that option either. However, the description of the extension describes it as a tool to add interesting boarders to photos. Therefore, it must be a Photoshop extension.
I am trying to install a script (.mxp) (Windows). When I double click the .mxp file the Adobe Extensions Manager CS4 opens but I get a permissions error. "You do not have appropriate permissions.." I am the administrator and I have made sure the file has full permissions. I have tried to move the file to different locations also.
I got an update notice from Adobe for Extention Manager 6.05. When I run the update, it downloads okay, but then I get an Installation Failure Error Code U44M1P7. I'm using Photoshop CS 6 standard.
I am trying to install a plug-in from PSKiss to Photoshop CS5 (version 12.0.4). I'm using Adobe Extension Manager CS5.5, and I'm running Windows 7 on my laptop. Â Although I'm following up with PSKiss to see if there's a problem at this end, I also see an issue with Adobe Extension Manager. When I open it, the Install button is grayed-out. I can see neither of the plug-ins I've already installed in Photoshop, nor can I install anything new. I am running Adobe Extension Manager as Administrator. Â Also, yes, I'm using my laptop with an Administrator account.
How to install the Dr Brown and Watermark installer scripts via Adobe Extension Manager? I am running Win7 and CS 4, and have opened CS 4 as an admin. Still, no luck. Â when trying to install the Dr Brown services, I get "You do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permission." Â For the Watermark script, i get "Can't create folder 'C:Program Files AdobeAdobe Photoshop CS4 (64 Bit)Plug-InsPanelsWatermark'. I created that folder manually via Explorer but that didn't work.
I'm not up to speed in configuring title blocks with sheet set manager and I've come into this situation unexpectedly.
I had to come up with a set of P&P sheets in a hurry to assist a contractor in providing a rough estimate for a sewer run, so I generated the sheets using the preconfigured imperial sheet set template. Afterwards I've switched out the border and title block generated by the template with our standard blocks. Our block attributes are old school and do not use fields. Now I am trying to upgrade those old attributes by replacing them with fields that reference the Sheet Set attributes.
Here is the problem: when inserting the field for the sheet number I can either use the CurrentSheetNumber or the SheetSetPlaceholder attribute. If I use CurrentSheetNumber, the title block shows the correct sheet number for the current sheet (the sheet I am making the edits from). However all the other sheets show that same number. In other words the fields do not show the corresponding sheet numbers from SSM. If I use SheetSetPlaceholder none of the title blocks will update to show the sheet number.
I believe I should be using the placeholder field but I can't get it to synchronize it with the SSM. Is there a way to make this work?

I've just installed Extension Manager Update 6.0.5.9 yesterday and today I've get a wired problem with my bambo tablet.I've used this tablet for 3-4 years without problem. The problem I've now is when I drag lasso tool on an image to make selection it doesn't make a selection even it is showed in the history state that I've used lasso,or magnetic lasso.
My machine is a Mac Pro 2010,Quad-Core Intel Xeon running on Lion 10.7.5 and my bamboo driver is the latest version 5.3.2-2. Even now I've change to use freeform path I've still cannot change form path to selection.
I have a Windows 7 system,I have a trial version of CS6 extended. It has expired and I don't wish to continue with it at this time. I have a purchased Photoshop CS6 that now will not function. I tried to reload the Application Manager because it says it is corrupt. When I click on the link provided by Adobe I get this warning from my security software. Adobe Cleaner Tool.exe containing HEUR:Trojan.Win32.KillFiles.What do I need to do to get rid of the trial version and to get my old CS6 to function again?Do I need to completely erase PS CS6?
I am using Lightroom 4.4 on a 2013 Macbook Air OS 10.8.4. Â I cannot see the Switch enables auto sync on the Metadata sync button. Its currently visible on another machine a MacPro with Lightroom v4.3. I find this useful to be bale quickly enable and disable the syncing of metadata. Has this been dropped in v4.4 or have I missed a prefs setting somewhere?
I am trying to adjust two D800 files simultaniously. Thus I select both images, toggle the Sync button to the Auto Sync state. Â But, the adjustments done to the most selected image do not copy over to the other image, while this is the expected behaviour. Â LR4.1 / Mac OS X Snow Leopard 1.6.8 / Macbook Pro i7 2,2 GHz
I'm learning how to create extension (flex - extension builder) for Illustrator and how to make it communicate with a plugin.
The samples provided in the SDK detailed how to load /unload extension from a menu item from Illustrator, and how to add / remove EventListeners to make the magic happen.  to sum up, this is something like that: 1- click on the menu item 2- load extension 3- add listeners 4- do your stuff...... 5- remove listeners 6- unload extension  Basically my plugin is a module/service which is in charge of dealing with / modifying artwork tree. It has no User Interface.
My extension will have a user of this service.   What I would like to do is to load my extension as soon as my plugin is loaded, and unload the extension when the plugin will be unloaded.
I'm using Inventor 2011 and I can't figure out how to set my dimension settings so it breaks the dimension extension lines automatically when crossing over other dimension extension lines. I saw that others say it just happens, but it is not "just happening" for me. how to set my dimensions so when dimension lines cross each other one of them automatically breaks?
properly resizing a color logo. I opened the logo in photoshop 1200dpi by 800dpi I need to resize it to 300dpi. When I do it loses its crispness, the diagonal edges show significant aliasing. I need the curves and edges to remain crisp.
I installed the retina display-optimized update to my purchased (non-Creative Cloud) version of Photoshop Design Standard (via the Adobe Updater app that pops up in my menu bar only when updates are available), but now when Photoshop launches, I get Photoshop Extended (and it's a trial version). Is this a known issue? Will I need to reinstall Photoshop?
I updated CS4 (student version) to CS5.5 commercial version. The brushes, patterns, shapes and styles I had installed in the CS4 Photoshop version were not loaded into the new version. I no longer have the original files of these assets (or customizations). Â How can I load these in the updated version?
I have Photoshop CS5, and everytime I try to make a gif I can't get the proper frame from the video...I keep getting the same one over and over again...
Running Vista and CS3. I have downloaded a logo from a client that is a blue rectangle with reversed out type in the middle. The image is a JPEG but at full size looks fine displayed in Photoshop CS3 and is showing a ppi as a little over 300. And yet when I file>place the image into InDesign the type comes out completely pixelated to the point of not even being readable. I've tried saving it as a PSD and TIF but they all still show the same pixeled type. It seems like I'm missing something simple but I'm at a loss. Can anybody suggest what would cause this?
Hi, I'm trying to merge photos that I shot for HDR from Bridge. When I select a few photos and use the command 'Tools/Photoshop/Merge to HDR/', the images open up in the dialog OK but the exposures it is 'guessing' are all wrong. It is selecting my underexposed shot as the 'EV 0', with my properly exposed and over exposed shots listing as 'EV +1.64' and 'EV -4' respectively. This is all wrong.
- Is there a way to change what Photoshop selects as the exposures?
I tried moving them, all sorts of click combinations, etc. It appears that they are stuck. When I shoot, it is -2EV, 0EV, +2EV.
Now interestingly, when I first open the photos in Photshop, then launch the 'Merge to HDR' dialog, adding the open files, it picks up the exposure just fine. This is just adding a few more steps to the workflow.
After the installation of Photoshop Elements 11 and Premiere Elements 11 on my new system, the catalogs of version 10 do not appear for the conversion to version 11; my 2 catalogs are installed on a LACIE-2BIG NAS system. Â Elements Organizer 11.0.0.0 Version principale : 11.0 (20120830.r.32025)
My designer wants a retainer of $3,000 but I can do most of my own stuff in Photoshop. Sometimes I get stumped though, and just need a 30 second tutorial. So I am coming here.  how to change it from a square image to one with a rounded top and bottom-right corner.  Also a 2 pixel shadow going up the right side and along the bottom. I can manually draw in those two pixels easily enough. But the corners look terrible when I try to manually do it.  I have been cropping the new image to the proper size, and then drawing in the two pixel fade on the side and bottom. Then trying to pixel by pixel create the rounded edges.  Before you say "Its a drop shadow!" please remember, in order for me to copy that exact drop shadow, I would need to know all their settings, colors, pixel widths, etc. All I have is a flat, finished image, so I have none of that information. Plus, I don't know how to do a drop shadow on a curved corner, which deletes the original squared corner on the image.Â
I wanted to do a photoshop painting and then possibly have it printed as a set of giclee prints to give away for Christmas. The size of the print would probably be like 12 x 14.
It's been a long time since I did print work, can I still assume that if I set my PS document to 12 x 14 @ 300 dpi that I'll be able to get a quality print? Or do I need to go more - or can I go less?
I have downloaded CS6 on two computers Running 10.7.5. I have been operating on CS5 with no problems.Running CS 6 when I open a nef and try to save as it shows png as the save as if I try and change it a jpg it shows as.iff. When I open a tiff and try to do a save as the, format is empty when I click and set as psd it will do the psd. If I try and save as jpg it changes to a .ff file  This is the same thing on both machines.I did try to run pixel bender but it does not operate on cs6. I had akvis lightshop as a plugin but I Got these messages and I Removed it.I still have the stand alone akvis but not the plugin.  I have downloaded the New upgraded Nik software on cs6 on both machines I tried to put a screen shot but this will not accept it [URL]...
I downloaded some trial plugins and then removed them and ever since, CS5 is not working well. Sometimes when I open it and go to file open to open an image, everything is grayed out and I have to close down and re-launch. When I open an image and want to look at the file info, everything freezes and I have to use task manager to close down Photoshop.
As well, my bridge is not working correctly. I want to uninstall and then reinstall, but I thought that somewhere that I read there are specific ways to do that or else the program thinks you're trying to load it on another computer..?
I understand that backuping my catalog will save all my adjustments in Lightroom. However, I jump over to edit externally in Photoshop often. I understand that to create a Tiff file next to my original file. However, isn't just backing up the catalog missing the Tiff file now in the backup?
