Photoshop Elements :: How To Restore Lost Tags After Optimizing 10

Today, after moving some folders that were incorrectly located (based on year/month/date) back to their proper location, I optimized the catelog. I then discovered that all my keyword tags were missing, but the image caption and description ("Notes") were not lost. This amounts to approximately 10 years worth of images.

Why did did I lose all the keyword tags? How can I recover them? I have not closed or restarted the Elements Organizer, nor have I tried to Repair the catalogs for fear of overwriting something that cannot be corrected. When should the repair catelog be used?

I am using a Dell desktop computer with Windows XP. We have an external HD for backup that is supposed to be constantly syncing for backup.

Photoshop Elements :: Couldn't Restore File In Restore Catalog

I have a new computer and want to move the databse catalog over. I backed up in PSE 9 to an external hard drive. I connected to HD to the new computer and tried a resotre catalog. I chose "New Location" since I was going from XP to Windows 7 and was unsure if there would be a conflict with file locations. I also chose "Restore Original Floder Strucure". Very quickly I recieve an error message "Could not restor file .xml". I have run Restore Catalog several times and each time a DIFFERENT FILE receives the error message. I then disabled Norton Anti Virus Auto-Protect. I then disabled several programs running in the background. Same problem. I then copied the Backup Catalog to the new computer and tried to Restore it from there. Same Problem. I have now run a Repair Catalog on the original file. PSE states there is no error. I want to purchas PSE 11, but wanted to install/restore the database with the same version 9 first.

I still have my serial number for CS2 but I don't have my serial number for CS3. How can I get back my CS3? I don't see anywhere I can download CS2 or CS3 now that CS4 is available.

I am using the CS5 with RAW support version for D800 without any problem before. I am not very sure the RAW support version that I use in the past.

But after I restore my iMac with the latest time machine file. CS5 cannot open the RAW file for D800 anymore, I try to install the latest RAW file version 6.7 for CS5, but when I click to check the RAW support version in CS5, it keeps showing version 6.6.

photoshop elements has crashed twice and both times I have had to reinstall the software from the disc, I try to open the program and windows reports the the program has stopped working and is looking for a solution, nothing is found and when I try to reopen the program the same thing happens, the only solution I have found is to reinstall the software

I am using windows 7 ultimate, with 4 gb ram and 300 gb of free space, plus 4 x processors, I have tried to run the software in compatibility mode as win Xperia service pack 2 but it acted the same?

Both the beta and now the retail version of photoshop cs6 keeps crashing on my vaio z (VPCZ23Z9E).I have tried countless reinstalls and both cs5 and cs5,5 works just fine. I suspects its the graphic driver for the external graphic crad (located in the dock).Unfortunately - that driver is a custom sony one and no other is available.

My laptop recently died before I was unable to do a backup of the PSE 9 catalog. I thought I was covered, however, since I do regular backups of my total system. In reviewing the backup data though, I discovered that I had copies of all of my pictures -- but the backup tool that I was using was NOT copying the PSE catalog file. Bottom line, I'm now missing probably 15+ years of catalog information......

Someone has told me that they believe they can pull some information off the damaged disk of the old PC. If this is possible, what file(s) should I ask them to try and recover -- and where would it likely be located?

Windows 7 OSPSE 9Catalog was not backup prior to system crash. I do not recall file structure of where photos were stored -- but I do have back up copies of all pictures (now stored on my new laptop)

The pictures that I edit and save don't appear in the organizer even though I'm checking off the correct boxes when I save the pics. The only way I can find and retrieve the pics I've edited is to go to the folder they're saved in.
