Dec 12, 2011successfully imported one of 6 folders from laptop to ext drive. opened catalog in ext drive just fine. all images included metadata, keywords and appropriate collections show up. when i import from ext drive to desktop the images appear without any additional info. cannot figure out what i am doing wrong. initially imported all 6 folders from lap to ext to deskptop. not all images copied, collections were screwed up. everything was screwed up. that's when i decided to just try one ata time. creating new catalog each time. would like to include in existing catalog in desktop. until i can get it right, maybe i should create new catalog in desktop and then merge catalogs.

Dec 8, 2013Computer 1's hard drive crash and all programs and data were recovered professionally and sent to me on an External Hard Drive. Computer 1 was on Windows 7. I can fun the program off of the External Hard drive fine, when connected to my my new Computer. I click on the .exe file and it pulls up the catalogue as it should. All off of the recovery drive.
The new Computer, is on Windows 8.1. How do I get the Adobe Catalogues moved/copied to the new Computer?
I redownload Adobe 10 onto my new 8.1 Computer from the Adobe website. Using the new download, I was able to open the Catalogue on the External Drive (F). Cannot find a way to "relocate" the Catalogue to the new computer. The pictures have already been copied to the new computer.
Photoshop :: Laptop Computer Screen Posterization
Jan 12, 2009I am shooting RAW and opening in Photoshop CS3 with AdobeRGB profile. My desktop NEC LCD screen displays the images correctly. I recently purchased a HP Pavilion dv9910us laptop, and it exhibits some posterization, even at the best screen angle. I'm wondering if this is a problem I will be able to solve or if it is a limitation of the hardware.

Vista 32 bit SP1
Color is set to 32 bit, Powerplan to High performance. The monitor has no specific profile. It is set to generic PNP. My older SpyderPro doesn't work with Visa, so I can't create a profile for the monitor (unless I upgrade to Spyder3.
I specifically chose a laptop that had a graphics subsystem, so this posterization is disappointing to me.

Jun 16, 2008I often will edit photos in Adobe RAW on my laptop, and save the RAW files to an external drive. When I pull those photos up on my desktop Photoshop, none of the RAW edits are seen. Shouldn't I be able to see the edits I made on my laptop? What's going on? I have both of my photoshop CS3 programs preferences set the same. Any help with this? Certainly when I edit photos on one computer with photoshop, I should be able to take those files to another computer and continue to edit them.

I go to tranform image size and the outline surrounding the photo only moves up/down or side-to-side. How do I get the outline to move at the corners so I can easily manipulate the size? Either way - FN, CTRL, Win or other buttons do nothing to enlarge photo to where I want to set it. How can I accomplish this - any experts on touchpad conversion to number keypads out there? This is Win8 with PSE11. I just want this computer to get up to par to do some photo editing.

When I return home, I use that external to view and edit my images on my desktop. Suddenly about 350 images show up as missing or offline when I view that external drive on my desktop. Nothing is seen as offline or missing. What can have happened? I use the same external, the same catalog and do not understand why the images are seen only on one computer and not the other. I am an Apple user but can't see what difference that would make.
